Visual design-wise, this reminds me somehow of the anime Shigurui. Which is a very good thing in my opinion.
There aren't many games out there that use religion in them... and even fewer that use it exceptionally well. Cursed Mountain is possibly one of, if not the best use of religion in a video game to date. The control issues don't really detract all that much... considering it is a survival horror. I thought it was an amazingly atmospheric game, that really has nothing similar out there.
I may rent this first because I'm not so sure about whether I want to fool around with annoying controls for an entire game. But the game still looks pretty interesting.
Looks great and quite big, only problem is the rubbish unresponsive BAD controls when fighting, I think ill pick up this game in a £9.99 bargain bin, I wouldnt go spend my money on this one when there are better game out there. e.g. Silent Hill & Left for Dead...
looks awesome. yeah wii controls still have issues in so many games on this platform, lets give it time and soon a great game on wii will blow our minds.
Who you gonna call??? GHOOST BUSTERS! =] lol thats just trolling but i dunno about this game... it looks interesting but i'd rather get Fatal Frame 4 instead
this is how a game should be reviewed, brilliant! Not as all the other reviews silly gamespot guys are doing nowadays... with all their arrogant and ironic tone -.-
provided this is a great effort, it is very unfortunate that these types of games usually do not sell well on the wii. as far as the controls go i usually become acclimated enough to make them work for me. tenchu on the wii is an example of this.
love it. wish they could have nailed the controls though. THESE are the kinds of games that make me wanna buy a wii; not the typical fare.
What score would this game get on a next gen console if had same resolution and graphics as this wii version? Since the controls for the game is broken according to review, don't think the wiimote in this game can be seen as a plus side.
Awesome review! Definitely one of the better reviews I have seen. This looks like my kinda game now.
Hey Kevin, I just wanted to say great review here. It does exactly what a good review should - portrays exactly who will like the game and who won't. Too many reviewers would have just said this has bad controls, stay away, but you expertly explained how even though it has faults, it will be a special game to a certain type of gamer. Too many reviews are just a laundry list of the faults the reviewer could find, rather than also listing the value of the game.
