regardless of what all the smart ass comments say the typhoon looks and sound amazing, the player should be allowed to tear through the game with that bad boy,no need for any other gun just the typhoon
Starting to look like Trigen hunting in the original FarCry..........not a happy memory. More dopey Bad Sci Fi weapons and enemies please!
This looks like animated and not real in-game graphics but i like the enviorment settings. Dark wood and that.
Can't wait for this game (pc and xbox).
Yeah...500 rounds a second could never work. It'd rip your arm off with the recoil. And, incidentally, the sound of even 125 separate firings(4 barrels) in a second would make a solid sound, the hearing of a human cannot distinguish the separate noises of the firing rounds.
I"ve been waiting to see this gun since they announced it. The scary thing is, electronic firing mechanisms like this exist already, but aren't yet in handheld form.
@Boris_Lion_SLO Real -in game graphics will come with Unreal Engine 4 and next generation consoles
@4blizzard You're right, it does look like HALO! Blech!
@fullxtent Maybe they are just like us. Some people study science with ground breaking results and some people can't even tie their shoelaces. Maybe he was just fighting a bunch of heavy armed idiots while all the smart ones are back at Ceph college drinking space coffee. :)
Today's humans are quite advanced, compared to anicent Rome or Greece. However, running into the individual, who is dumber than his\her phone is not exactly an uncommon occurence. Why should the Ceph be different?
@DannyBoy2k damn there is alawys a smart ass comment
@DannyBoy2k The gun is not neccesarily gunpowder-based. We don't see actual shells in the video only bullets. It may be a smaller railgun. Alternatively, recoilless guns do exist as a light artillery. Crysis 3 is set in 2047, it is not that farfetched that a small-sized recoilless rifle could be developed for the purpose of fighting the Ceph.
@DannyBoy2k its shooting using 10 barrels( i think) so you are hearing the 50 rounds a sec, with 10 barels at once
@DannyBoy2k well he's got a nano-suit so your argument is invalid
@jamesbigmac The point, in MY opinion, is the stupidity of the system. How do you RELOAD? You'll have to break the entire system down, and replace the entire barrels...carrying 10 barrels fully loaded of ammo for just the one reload...talk about stupid. Rate of fire is bullshit compared to easy of use. It looks cool, but that's about as for as it goes. The single use this idea has been put to that makes any SENSE, to me, is explosive ordnance disposal in place. Shoot the mine, boom. But that's a pre-setup situation.
@jamesbigmac they are... its just a prototype though
@justinka777 @DannyBoy2k Might be, I didn't count the rounds from each firing. But still, 50 firings per second, 10 rounds at a time...you wouldn't hear it. Compare to the Phalanx CIWS. Admittedly, it has a rate of 75 rounds per second, but the diffrence isn't that great. You can't pic out separate firings, it's a solid noise after it's spun up. And, to compare, the M249 SAW fires about 13 rounds per second, the sound is much closer.
Of course, this is all fairly academical, as it IS, at the end of it all, as it's a game, and meant for fun. :)
@DannyBoy2k @jamesbigmac Well you wouldn't have to reload per se. You just carry extra magazines like any other gun. You wouldn't be stuffing bullets into your magazines in a battle situation with other guns anyway. The only reason soldiers have to manually reload is if there is a total failure of the gas system. And there are WAY more applications for a system like this. Just look up Metal Storm and you will see what I mean. Most systems are just attack deterrent based.
