Crosshairs Preview: Need for Speed: Shift
Laura burns rubber in this Need for Speed: Shift hands-on and chats to producer Jesse Abney from the NFS dev team.
i have to admit with all the great racing games about to come out like forza and gt5 (whenever it gets done) dirt2 and others i was just going to not bother with this but to be honest..this really looks like a lot of fun..i may have to get it as well.
WoW looks great, cant wait to play. i hope sometime in the future NFS puts the blue ray disk to the test and have all major U.S. highways like (i95,i80) with traffict and no traffict. police and no police. and some major Rt. roads like (Rt66) to link highways and make 100's or even 1000's of races. with compacts, mids, mid lux, full lux, sports, racing sport, exotics. now that would be hot. you know what they say. if you think about it, its cooming soon.
Enough arcade...i want sim and realism... one shot kills and the most realistic car and gun handling is what its all about... I want to be PUNISHED when i play a game damn it... i want to play on Hard Core at all times...just like CoD- Hard Core mode... im turning off all assists and turning up the damage and AI difficulty in this and GT5...
looks like a grand turismo not a nfs is more like a legal race type, i liked the clandestinity of the street races
Definitely not what I expected from an NFS game, but it definitely looks cool. The cockpit cam looks unbelievable. But... this looks like the kind of thing I'd be going to Forza or GT for... I was hoping for some street racing
Game looks cool, but i'm not enjoying the fact of the camera being stuck on the head... I rather prefer the camera outside the car :P
@Spartan8907 Obviously you have never played the first NFS game, which was indeed a racing simulator. I have high hopes for this game. A new developer is working on this game and they have brought us GTR 2.
So will there be street racing, or is that over? Sad panda if this is just circuit racing.. Very sad panda. Least I still have Carbon, and I never run out of customization ideas! psshhya!
NFS games have been getting better and better and the years have ticked over and i am really looking forward to this one. its not mocking GT5, what its doing is bringing the trademark customisation, expanding it and adding in the authentic driving control and simulation gamers have come to expect. and i have to say, the quality of the cockpit cam looks second to none at the moment.
Excellent preview, one of the best one I've watched. I'm very much looking forward to seeing what kind of game Slightly Mad have made as their previous games are some of the best PC racing simulations.
