They did a lot right with this game. It was fun for a month, but the problem is, what they did wrong just ruins it and anything they add to it.
I wanted so badly to enjoy that game, and this sounds like one of the things that would've made it more enjoyable to me.
At the end of the day, I just don't think I was part of the audience Trion was aiming for. I like PvP--all forms of it--and I'm big on a player's responsibility to become skilled and contribute to his or her group. Trion seemed to want to encourage big groups in PvP in order to to mask that and kind of bring everyone's skill levels to some kind of average via the zerg.
This unfortunately made for a really low level of competition and the quality players on both sides were just too few and far between to make it a fun experience on a daily basis. And that makes me sad because Rift has a whole lot of things going for it, just... not for me.
Don't disappoint me, Guild Wars 2. I dunno if I can take it.
