Company of Heroes 2 - The Reddest Army
Get familiar with the new Soviet army! Company of Heroes 2 features an entirely new array of units to the player as the great Soviet Union defends the multiplayer motherland.
Now I wish I had played the beta while it was still open. :/
Essentially it looks exactly like the first game. Great looking RTS, still horrible graphics if you choose to zoom in for a closer view, so just stick with the genre standard view. Seriously though, what are the changes? I understand it's a new engine (supposedly) but how will that actually affect my game? Is this more or less the exact same game but now set in a different part of the conflict? Or did they add new mechanics and stuff that will add to the gameplay?
I like to upgrade the engineer squad with flamethrower then put them in a scout car: it protects them and make them happy. Happy flamethrower engineers burn enemy troops and fix the scout car. If only I would have a doctor with me, it will really be something.
Note to Game spot: You guys need to seriously edit the videos your "reporters" are putting out. In this one we have a kid with childish humor giving Gamespot a bad name, and over at Rome 2 Total War you have a video so bad that the comment boards are blowing up. Stick with being serious (COH2) and using people that actually understand the genre they are interviewing about (R2TW). Your base (members in the comments section) are not amused.
It is not offending, but moronic. Sorry. Humor which draws from generalization, stereotypes and ignorant bigotry does not amuse me. Yes it is just a game review yes this yes that, but still. Stating that jokes are only jokes is nonsense. All paradigms are based on certain choices. I feel irritated and sorry. Excuse me.
Wow...this reviewer is horrible. Jesus.
SSL...seriously, my god your delivery and attempt to humour is pathetic.
This isn't even informative towards the game.
really? you really thought that bullshit was funny? thanx to you, i now find the horrendous Dane Cook to be a hysterical and accomplished comedian
i guess you just talk, while someone else holds onto the real jokes and waits for you to die off?
Wow. Most comment threads are cesspools as is, but there is more venom here then in a Joseph McCarthy speech. If he was on the Soviets' side, which most people in here seems to be. Guess Stalin's propaganda actually works.
Or was it Kane's...?
Funny little video. Nice light weekend humour. This was never supposed to be an overly serious approach, but he still covered a lot of points with humour. :-)
I had a good laugh with the first reference to Enemy at the Gates and another at the second, but then it got old. The important point surrounding certain features' being sold separately might have gotten lost in the repeated SSL joke, but I again felt the first one was well done. Many people don't mind that, and I don't begrudge this sales mechanic, but I am glad the video points it out.
Why can no one make a decent video about this game.
The Katyusha is good if fired side on to long tanks like Panthers.
Those were real people who fought and died, ideology aside.
This was a waste of a video - neither humorous nor informative.
Am I the only one who thought this guy was sort of unfunny and borderline insulting? you get everything for free? ugh.
I lost both my grand-grand parents it that war, and you make fun of it? I hope you fucking die, you illiterate piece of shit!
"in communism you get everything for free"... stick to your gaming and shut the fuck up about things you obviously haven't the slightest idea about, Gamespot.
Most was fine and useful in this video, except for the SSL and other forced jokes , that really wasn't necessary and made this much harder to watch.
Less of the 'humour' and, frankly, ridiculous puns and SSL logic. A simple video on explaining the positives and negatives of units would be perfect, thanks. This video was cringe-worthy to watch.
@1wikkid1 it way different. its as different as dow1 was to dow2
@Vienreich lighten up
@Vienreich He is a smart-ass
@PacoTaco So its ok to make a game in which you have fun killing Germans and Russians. But joking about it is not ok?
And to everyone else, the game is already filled with stereotypes and historical inaccuracy, why target the guy who went along with it?
@cuddlyfuzzle actually I find him to be insulting for the Russian ppl and their sacrifice in that war, and i'm not Russian.
@Arronaxxx Did you even know your grand-grand parents? No? But your ok with wishing death on a stranger? Honestly you have no right to be offended if you see someone else's life in such a trivial way. Joking about bad events is a way to air the dirty 'truths' and 'stereotypes' about ourselves in a safe environment.
Getting offended by this is typical of the politically correct 'pick and choose' society. I bet half the people here have made, told or laughed at 'inappropriate' jokes to do with some other topic of P.C. debate.
@crissy14 @cuddlyfuzzle Yeah because making jokes is far more offensive than depicting and enjoying the slaughter in video-game format. Get off your high horses this war was like 70 years ago, most of your parents weren't even born then. If i made a joke about the Battle of Hastings would i get called an 'immature moron'?
