Very good game, something I never would have thought possible about a movie-licensed game. It was very reminiscent of Rocksteadys Batman-series, not as good, but still enjoyable.
@marksinister Your wrong, I buy all my PC games but tiered of games not being put on PC. When I see a good or great game I want on PC they don't do it. It's time they changed and add them on to PC. I'm sick of people who download games for free instead of buying them and I'm sick of people like marksinister who thinks all PC gamers Torrent Games, well I don't so stop having a go.
I'll probably still give "Captain America: Super Soldier" a fair try. It doesn't look perfect, but it might still be fun.
@marksinister Ur right, I wouldn't have bought nor "torrent" it. My problem is that they just keep on shunning the pc. There's no Green Lantern for pc either (which I would have gladly bought).
@Enygma60 @Peter23CU @liffaman and everyone else who think this should be on the PC. Don't act like you would've bought this for the PC because we all know people would've just "Torrent" the crap out of it because it's not worth a cent to spend money on.
I remember the first time I saw Captain America. "Where's his weapon?" I though. And then I realised he threw his sheild. So then I though "Ok, but where is his weapon?".
Check here for a review that doesn't start from the premise of, "for a movie tie-in..." And for you folks wondering about schmeisser-free-Nazis: it's explained in game that Arnim Zola(head Mad Scientist) believes his stun-baton-equipped grunt/spartan troops are more effective in combat than conventional troops with firearms because their unfamiliar, possibly alien technology(remember, this is the 1940s) strikes fear into the enemy. The game is definately worth the money. HAIL HYDRA!
it might not be complete crap, but why would you place this when you can play much better games, doesn't make much sense
I agree with Liffaman, why on all consoles except PC, this game needs to be made for the PC as well. I'll buy it and so many others will, it's a good hero game to have.
I see little innovation here. Maybe a cheap archetype of the batman fighting engine might cut it for some developers, but I feel gamers deserve a little more from a game focused on a character as orthodox as Captain America. I think a lot of gamers including myself are reluctant to buy a game that has developed from a graphic novel or comic book because of the inconsistency that breeds from shallow games with big titles. Before Arkham I hadn't played a perfected super hero game since X-men (1993). Developers should step it up when it comes to evolving an established franchise.
This looks like a pretty good game. I'm surprised, for once! It reminds me of a less-good version of Arkham Asylum, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. I might give 'er a try.
I dont usually get movie based games, The last one I got was Spider-man 2 - anyway, this one actually looks kinda interesting, maybe wait for a price drop.
@DarthVeng_basic There was an explanation to the quality of movie-based games somewhere and it said that movie-based games are practically rushed so they can be released around the same time as the movie. Basically marketing is to blame really.
@DreadDLordD Well, there's Captain Britain and I only found out about him while looking through Marvel stuff on wikipedia. There was also a brief appearance of a zombified Captain Mexico in one of the Marvel Zombies comics.
Is it just me, or did the armored Nazi at 4:46 look exactly like the Dreadnought from Warhammer 40,000?
game beated great game man i love this king of games amaizing from begining to end very good gilienhorton
@majin_lebeau, doesn't matter when it was first done. Uncharted is the most notable example in recent memory. Wave based survival modes are referred to as hoard mode, not because Gears did it first but because Gears popularised it.
I kinda hope Rock Steady will actually make a Captain America Game, this looks close to arkham asylum but still under par in comparison, but for a movie licensed game its seems like the best one in a long string of failures.
When Captain America throws his mighty shield, All those who chose oppose his shield must yield. If he's lead to a fight and a duel is due, Then the red and white and the blue'll come through. When Captain America throws his mighty shield.
Captain America? Damn, that's a large territory to cover. Oh wait, Canada and south/central America doesn't count.
