Call of Duty XP 2011: The Pit
Jody and Sophia test their skills in the pit. Who will come out on top?
To all you naysayers, what more do you guys want? You get to watch two lovely ladies with guns shooting stuff. Nice job ladies.
@Melas300 I'm not moody, I'm disappointed, because I would like to have more options than only play BF3 for more 2 or 3 years, and that disappointment comes from many factors proving that Activision could care more about the gaming community and release something more technologically improved! And I think you just answered yourself about people changing their minds... the world is filled with morons! Don't be surprised if MW3 gets to sell more than BF3!
@dalua360 It's just that a lot information/videos were revealed in short time, so all this piled up info "bursted" out now on the site making everything else disappear for some days(cause in a week everything will be back to normal) making moody people like you complaining. No intention for offense here(really), but you make it look overratted... I mean, both you and me know that BF3 is gonna be better, but there is no reason accusing anybody. If Activision has the money to promote its game(that I'm sure it does), then what's the problem? But anyway, only morons would change their minds by just an advertisement(not in this specific case, generally speaking).
@dalua360 Your plane is insane. You are insane. I need some Pepsi... That aside, of course, as a videogame journalist site (like you said), GS will cover any larger gaming events, whether or not the event is about a series that splits the whole gaming community in half when talked about (with the fanboys who would buy the liver with CoD tattoo on it over the actually working one and the haters who dedicate their life on seeking the problems and failures in CoD games)
@Melas300 You're completely right: "This website is a source of information so it would be odd if they had NOTHING about CoD in here." So, since when NOTHING became ONLY ? Another thing is: "Gamespot is OBLIGATED to have a coverage of that event"... That's exactly what I'm talking about, Gamespot is a videogame journalist first of all, so why do they favor those who gives more money? It's clear that Activision is investing a HUGE amount of money on marketing because they know they have a package of crap to deliver this year, so, imo Gamespot is the new publisher's whore!
@dalua360 This is happening due to the COD XP event. It's a highly anticipated event from Call Of Duty fans(I'm not one of them btw) and Gamespot is obligated to have a coverage of that event in their site... This website is a source of information so it would be odd if they had nothing about CoD in here.
OH look, MW3 is everywhere here on Gamespot. Activision must have bought this website! And even after that HUGE amount of money spent on marketing, BF3 will be the best game! Pathetic !
please dont do it again .... its nice for who play it ... but its not for who is watching in Vid .. im sure i will get 2 many thumbs down
@Sophia It's more the idea of it. That when someone plays COD, they engaging in an (over-exaggerated) war simulator, and that the FPS POV is as close as you're gonna get to the real thing. I think a lot of people who play the games (and play them well) start thinking they're really good at shooting guns. I personally think there's even more of a disconnect with Rock Band, because you're in the right position for playing the guitar, but other than that there are so few similarities between the controller and a real life guitar.
@ketchupclaw - how are the two even related? At least a plastic instrument resembles a real instrument whereas my Xbox controller and a paintball gun aren't even close.
I'm really not hating, just making an observation: It's pretty amazing that these two people have clocked in hours if not days of COD, but they look so awkward with a real life weapon (paintball's not a real gun, I know). Kinda in the same way Guitar Hero/Rock Band aficionados look when they pick up a real instrument. I'm really not trying to be mean, just being honest.
Paintballs are so innaccurate, a lot of missing is due to the fact its a ball filled with liquid. A real gun would have produced a lot better results, but of course probably some dead bystanders lol. Still pretty cool to see a reproduction of that opening staging area; I spent quite a while in that area just perfecting it.
@JodyR That's good, i guess one develops a tough skin when put in the spotlight. Keeping doing what you do :)
Whoa, Jody can really handle a gun! But I guess my main theme in this comment is to say that girls who can handle guns are extremely hot. :D
@nerijus359: Yeah, I'm sure it would have been more difficult. But, that was super fun! I haven't done The Pit in the game for so long.
@X-7 I think we both had two things in mind. Sophia was doing it based on time, and I was trying hit targets. So, she rocked the time I'm sure. I rocked the targets probably. Plus, the dude that guided me was super awesome telling me to GO!
@Hirasugi: I think people just want to do the Pit themselves, so they have to pick fun at us. I don't mind. lol
now thats realism lol, yes call of duty lacks this kind of realism, so does Battlefield, but even some of you have said below, that it looks BORING compared to the game, well, now you know why FUN over the top games, sell WAY more copies than Military Simulations like Arma 2..Because the game seesm more fun doesnt it? Counter Strike is probably the closest to this as your going to get and still be in the fun/Sim mix catagory.
looking forward to Modern warfare 3, already pre ordered , should run at 60-fps which is really important for a MP-FPS game. Haters of success and BF3 fanboys, you shouldnt hate a game because its fun , what a joke. lol. If they changed the game of call of duty, it wouldnt be call of duty would it? lol...If they got rid of flags in Battlefield 3 and had no rush mode, It wouldnt be battlefield would it!?!?! I think Battlefield is the same game every year too. But there are peopel that like QUAKE adn Unreal Tournament because its fun adn jsut as competitive, i put Call of duty into the Quake and Unreal genre but set in todays standards and modern weapons. I dont see people running around hating on QUAKE, yet its a run and gun game too. Not everyone likes to run for miles , get a flag , get a tank , rinse and repeat. If im going to be running around getting flags all day, i prefer Smaller maps over large ones, thats why i prefer call of duty. Unless the stakes are high, like Quake wars enemy territory, which had objectives, to give me something to aim for, instead of flag grabbing over a massive distance like Battlefield. Battlefield is JUST as repetitive as Call of duty. But i dont dog on Battlefield, because the game is pretty good, yet BF3 fanboys seem to want to hate on success adn every otehr MP game in existance? thats not cool!!!! Battlefield gamers even give Counter-strike grief and thats not cool either. If you dont like small map, fun games or Call Of Duty because it has killstreaks and LOADS of weapons and its a fun game to play if you dont take it seriously, then dont look at it, Matter of fact if you dont like call of duty what are you even looking at Call of duty threads for? Go look at something else.!!!!
That looked pretty cool but ehhh I think in the game was better and more fast paced... Still both did very well!!
looks like fun. And HOLY CRAP are some of these comments immature! But then again when you’re surrounded by 12 year olds and bolstered by anonymity...well, you get the internet
