@natanaj That's the science of it, but in reality, that's just what makes it so much fun, or at least just in my opinion. The feeling of success is what makes it fun, and the feeling of success occurs when you get a kill, earn a killstreak, win a game, etc.
natanaj is completely right. The chemical reaction is actually stronger in the minds of males as opposed to females. It's interesting to me to break down the psychology of why this game is so addictive.
@natanaj word.. Here I was, thinking it's just fun, playing a game with my friends. Boy..do I feel stupid
I was trying to think about why people enjoy this game so much even though they aren't all that well made. I believe I have found out why. The way the gameplay is set up it is based on a system of rewards and points. The points are given out as big yellow numbers that usually range from 50+. Upon reviewing these points a euphoric reaction takes place in the brain. Because points can easily lose there effect the developers give out kill streaks to allow the player to do something more advanced than the other players at that moment and earn more points than usual. This leads to more and stronger euphoric reactions. Then after that the strongest reactions are given by leveling up and unlocking things. When the player unlocks something loud music is played and the achievement is displayed in big letters. These are goals that the player works for whenever they play because they feel so rewarded when they achieve them. Basically what I'm saying is, fans of Call of Duty are actually addicts filling their cravings.
Wish MW3 and BF3 get together and have a baby so I could enjoy both elements of the game at the same time. Until then I will play BF3 for my tactical shooter and MW3 for my run n gun experience.
If you use their "strategy tips" to travel faster to an objective, wouldn't everyone know the paths people would take? See, in Battlefield you can create your own strategies and paths :)
Stats really suck he fun out of a game. I miss the old MP titles like gears 1. That game didn't even have deaths displayed on the leaderboard. Why can't games just be about having fun anymore. You have to have all this stat tracking. And maps and information telling you routes and tricks? This is the sort of stuff you should learn from playing the game. Half the fun of improving is finding these techniques for yourself. I don't like the direction services like CoD elite are going in.
we all know that BF can't defeat MW in terms of sales and the great is... beautiful ending and the full story.
Its gonna be one or two guy getting all the kills eregardless of whos improving. cool idea with the map view but is all that really necessary. I mean whos gonna take the time to look at all that stuff. CoD is a run and gun, people just want to play not master every corner (most people I mean).
If people just played the game, they learn and improve without this instead of always needing to cheat
For all you idiots saying the game is the exact same as mwf2, do your research before you open your mouth. MWF3 is bringing a whole new aspect to the game. Instead of kill streak rewards they have what's called strike packages. You can play as "Assault", "Support", or "Specialist". Look it up, because it's the very reason this game will be soooooo great! =)
Improve???!!!!! who needs to improve in this game if COD doesn't take skill to play, you just need to play alot.
this is a nice edition i am not the best at multiplayer games so looking at personal stats and gun and map info will be great. especially for a casual gamer like myself.
Why does this game look exactly the same as MW2? Show me something new and exciting. If your gonna put no effort into the development of the game then my money is going somewhere else.
@getomen No, retard they're realistic. Not everyone in Bf3 is a super soldier like in Cod games they just have standard equipment because they are normal standard soldiers. You're an idiot. Not every gun that the U.S. and other countries use have a billion mega high tech attachments on them. God typical cod fanboy...........
i really dont need people who think they are experts telling me how to play this game...but maybe it will be good for the noobs and the kids....teach them that camping isn't the only way to get kills. seriously how is camping fun???
LOL. Yeah... They've actually tried to implement team-work that is awarding this time around. Besides, EVERYONE, you, me, we all have strategy, believe it or not.
LOL. Strategy? Tips? WTF are these people talking about. CoD is an easy game to learn.Pick a gun, start shooting. Maps are small and you learn them in one match. Boh, trying to hype things that are pointless, riiight, nice marketing strategy.
hell yeah, the work done with the weapons on elite is from xbox ahoy, i can already tell. and if you dont know who im talking about watch his videos on youtube.
Here's how you improve on CoD:1.Pick a dark spot. 2.Wait there. 3.Shoot anyone who passes by. Not how I play, but it seems to work for the 5 million players that do.
