It will have a life as long as as Acti is willing to accept less than top sales. It sees new gamers every year. Every year, the kid who watched his older brother, father, uncle play their last entry, will think its awesome. And so, buy the new one when he can, how he can. They don't care about outdated engines, graphics, resolution, any of it. They play whats hot. It is the cycle of POP culture

COD is the epitome of a teenage popcorn franchise that's bleeding out fast.  Like WoW, "fans" are leaving the franchise in droves.  In a few years it will be as dead as MoH (a much superior FPS series IMHO).  I used to love COD...  now I can't stand to hear the name.

Yeah, same here. Video's not playing.

Video won't even play for me... maybe review remorse?

The "review" was ridiculous and still is. A paid trip to a CoD event... are you kidding me? Face the fact that CoD is getting stale and no review can change that. CoD was good up until MW2, since then it has been crap.

@Kinguard73

Glitch-spot, more likely.

Also, you would be quite mistaken if you are thinking that this is due to "review remorse". GameSpot's reviewers are very thick-skinned - and they should be, I opine.

@NoahRoalson paid trips to see new games are done by every single developer, and every single publication. It's where you get your preview stories, and "hands on" articles. They are not allowed to dictate what is written, only that the journalists invited write something about their experience, if you think this is somehow shady, or indicative of bias, then I suggest you learn a little more about consumer journalism. It's not only common place in the industry, it's necessary to provide pre-release footage and updates on a games progress.

@NoahRoalson a game is to be reviewed on its own merits, not the merits of previous titles.

@NoahRoalson  I logged in specifically to post what you just did. I couldn't believe my freaking eyes when I saw that at the bottom of the review. That amount of stupid deserves to be ridiculed to the max.
