well, everyone might say that the new trend is double jump, but imho everything is getting closer to unreal tornament...
leveloution - battlefield
double jump - titan fall
invisibility and direct energy weapons - halo
COD looking original as ever
@stagethree I'm not defending CoD but it's just dumb to compare everything you see to the first game that pops to your head.
Battlefield, Titanfall and Halo also took ideas from other games.
for a genre thats been around for 15+ years, what are the odds that two AAA games being developed simultaneously (Destiny + Advanced warfare), feature double jump following the popularity and praise titan fall received for implementing a double jump into a MAJOR fps game? I mean seriously, think about it
@stagethree @pezzott1 Rise Of Incarnates, God of War, Devil May Cry all feature double jump and none of them are shooters. This looks more like vertical movement rather than double jump. Let me explain something which you already probably know, double jump is jumping in the air and then jumping a second time off of air. I dont see any CoD:AW videos showcasing that, rather, I see jumps using verticality. Also what exactly is original these days? Battlefield? Destiny? Forza? Drive Club? The Last Of Us? Fifa? PES? Every game has something or the other which is already out there. We have racing, we have shooting, we have puzzle, we have sports, we have RPG, theres barely anything thats completely original. Originals were classics like Mirrors Edge, Just Cause 2, God Of War when it came out, Star Citizen, etc, stuff that did what no other game at that time allowed you to do.
P.S.- I apologize if any of my stated facts are incorrect, these are based on what I know.
