just picked this up for £3 for my other half which is rare for her to play a game. And looking forward to playing it myself. Love Jack Black! Love Metal hopefully will love this game especialy love the price.
@Rexavian - Congrats on stereotyping yourself there, champ. What has DJ Hero got to do with anything? That's like the last game that I would ever play. And yeah, lol, I'm an idiot cos I don't think screeches coupled with screaming vocals and banging drums to no rhythm whatsoever is music.
@Rex liking another genre of music then you doesn't make anyone an idiot. Also trying out a game just for the heck of it doesn't make anyone an idiot either.
@dagrimmreepa Seriously...? It's called Brutal Legend, the cover has a guy with long hair and a guitar. Why the hell would you get it? It's obvious that it's a rock/metal-oriented game... Go play DJ-Hero, like the other idiots...
The treatment of Death & Black Metal in this game was pretty weak, especially introducting BM with the emo-goths. Both genres seemed like an after thought. WTF!
I honestly tried very hard to like this game, as I love most of Tim's products... but I just couldn't. This is a great game for those who love rock, I'm just not in that category.
This game was awesome. Got it for $20 at Wallie World. Don't usually buy games from there but this one was a good deal. Kinda glad Metallica didn't show up in there. This game would've never gotten released with all the drama they bring with them. Too bad there isn't any Maiden though. -_- My only real complaint is that there is no jump button. Eddie sometimes has problems getting over the more intricate geometry at times. As with all open world games this one works best when installed on the hard drive. Makes thing run more smoothly.
cool character ideas, ok gameplay, brutal soundtrack, great humour. The intro to this game is one of the coolest i've seen in ages!!
Defeating the forces of Hair Metal, awesome. Defeating the forces of Goth, ok. Defeating the forces of S&M, not sure what that was all about!
man I wished Tim Curry and Jack Black would of sang a song for this. It would have made this game more epic than it already is
I found this game simplistic and tedious. The riffs (read: QTEs) drove me insane, especially seeing as you have to play one to summon the Deuce.
Just rented it last night and it's quite a lot of fun. The RTS elements aren't nearly as bad as I've heard. Honestly, in comparison to a lot of RTS', it's pretty simplistic. Plus, the visuals in the game and most especially the music? Definitely worth it just for that alone.
This game would have achieved a "Brutal Victory" if Double Fine nailed the storytelling aspect of the game. It seems as if they left this part of the game on the sidelines until the end of the fourth quarter in production. I mean, i love the game, don't get me wrong...but instead of constituting the stage battles as boss fights (because if you think about it, there are only three legitimate boss fights: the huge worm, the spider, and Doviculus. That guard in the mines doesn't count) they could've actually had more boss fights with the ironheade army involved. Maybe full scale war where you don't control the minions, but they're there fighting alongside you against all the other enemies while you (Eddie) fight that one evil dude. Idk, don't dislike bc you think this is a stupid idea. You know it's not. I also do enjoy the stage battles, but those should've been strictly for multiplayer. That's my pitch. Brutal Legend 2? Hopefully.
@darkangel_78589 The truth is that while games for both 360 and PS3 claim to run at 1080p, it is really upscaled lower resolutions such as 720p, probably similar to your case.
I like the style and everything. But... no MetallicA and Iron Maiden? Really?... What's up with that, licensing too expensive or something? Oh well, I wouldn't buy it for the music though. Just strange the bands aren't in there.
I think this game is trying to prove that metal has died out in the U.S and it has to come back, with those gay jonas brothers retards ruling the U.S i really have no idea whats going to happen. When will another legend like Ozzy or Mustaine make his appearance....sigh.........only time will tell i guess.\m/
I was not satisfied, because for me Graphics is very, very important. Then also I'll say It "It was good"
@dagrimmreepa technically drums in metal are more quickly apparent to a rhythm than most music. but I get your point it's definately not for everyone
