One of my guilty pleasures. I agree with all of the flaws presented above, but I find it extremely satisfying to lay waste to the environments and enemies at the same time during a gunfight. I can see the potential, but it was not fully realized, and used well enough. Maybe (and hopefully) next time they do a better job with the license.
Just picked this up for$12 at Gamestop. I'm over halfway through now, and while I think the review's criticisms are legitimate, I still don't think this is a 5.5 game. Though it does feel like an arcade release rather than a full retail, there's some fun to be had. I enjoyed the leaning style cover mechanic, the sound design, and the quick, "get into the action" gameplay. Sure, there's not much story, but this game isn't about story. It's about blasting through waves of enemies as quickly and brutally as possible. Definitely worth a weekend playthrough if you can find it under $15.
The gunplay with most of the guns is actually awesome...however the extreme stupidity in the AI definitely makes this a 5.5 at max and overall it gets boring after about 2 hrs! But thats just my opinion! November holds some wicked games!
I must have not been on Gamespot when this review came up because it slipped by un-noticed, doesn't look like it's worth the money though which is a shame cos I was looking forward to it
I haven't played this game, but from the looks of this review I don't think that a lot of people will play multiplayer so it's really just a six hour shooter that is supposedly terrible or as gamespot call it "mediocre"
Sorry, but this game is terrible. The A.I. is so dumb its almost funny. Lots of times you will find yourself shooting at walls, trying to break through them, and you can't, even though you broke the other wall. And the cover mechanic is so annoying in combat. Not only that, but after a while, it just gets boring. I know I'm gonna get a lot of hate for this, but I'm just sharing my personal opinion.
its graphics are a bit low and the gameplay is a bit crap but still a mediumgame.cant compete with the big boys though(i.e call of duty , gears of war etc.)
the graphics looks cool, and the gameplay looks tight. but there are a lot of better FPSs out there.
what happened during development time? they said they weren't gonna make it generic damn! o well time to wait for a good fps too bad looked kinda cool.
i bet they'll blame this failure of a game on the players and the hardware of the current consoles, like the Brink people did XD if you want to make a good game, follow resistance's example...
I may be wrong but I think it was Codemasters that published quite possibly the worst FPS ever created. I'm drawing a blank on the title but it was a WWII game where the Germans invade America, after that soul scarring experience, it is hard to have faith when CodeMasters and FPS are uttered in the same breath( even when they just are the publishers)
You can say that about most first-person shooters stupid AI standing around waiting to be killed,Stupid AI to me is not a bad thing pointing out the games fault's is fine Watters but leave your personal opinion out. That this game dose not do it better than other games or this falls in limbo or not recommended. In my personal opinion with your personal comments this was a unprofessional review.
This game is for no-brainer, and don't be proud bout' that :P and for saying Chris Watters is bias is like saying: your bias about your love for crappy games,, you're the one who's bias.
His video review highlighted enough positives that a score of 5.5 seems definitively too low. I haven't played this yet but the level design overall looks pretty unique and interesting and the gunplay fun.
ssssoooooo getting this....when it becomes $19.99 instead of $59.99....like its predecessor black im just gonna wait
Complain about the single player campaign being just 6 hours long. Yet Black Ops and MW2 and almost definitely MW3s campaigns are lauded, despite being the same length, if not shorter. This game looks poor, and most likely is, I'm not arguing with that. I just wish reviewers would stop being so damn biased and stop changing the rules on what is good and what isn't for different games.
HOW THE FU CKKKKKK do you stop the auto play? Im watching something else for a sec and the video goes to the next one . DAMNIT i know gamespot loves advertising but stop the bloody autoplay.
i was just off to pick this up, but now ill just wait till next fri to pick up some quality, im not funding these slack jaw's no more..
I don't trust Chris's reviews anymore ever since he said Call of Duty: World at War's premise was still fresh. Seriously, he picks at minor issues like AI and campaign length. I'm sure his judgement of the game is correct, but I don't agree with the way he interprets some aspects of the games.
well, good. I had this on my wanted list, but this means it's one less game in that list, and considering the amount of top games coming out shortly, I'm kind of glad I have one less to worry about. lol
Maybe if they went third person it would garner more attention and better reviews. That what Inversion seems to be doing. Well that and their gravity changing thing.
wow I called it 7 month ago, a FPS game that can't aim down your sight is so yesterday. a game for N64 or playstion one.
Chris is a great reviewer though is tough on the scoring. Unless it's the can-do-no-wrong Call of Duty.
With no knowledge of this title until yesterday, I thought the demo was actually quite good. I played through it 5 times and took a different route each time. Unfortunately, this isn't a $15 or $20 download.
