@jb511 Don't worry about performance in this game, since its a Space sim, and all space sims do not require expensive stuff because of textures, bitmaps etc, a medicore comp can handle those games just fine Just look at Darkstar One, Sins of a Solar Empire etc etc
Like penpusher said, how can you say that the game is good or bad based on cinematic trailers? Just wait till they release gameplay videos then you will have a faint idea what the game is about.
how would anyone know it looks like "just another sub-par flight simulator"? Theres only two bloody trailers people!
I dunno about this game. sure it may have pretty good graphics but thats not what games are about. it's about the gameplay and, to me, as emkeighcameron said, just looks like another sub-par flight simulator.
i would consider buying the game but monthly payments would put me off... one off payments is ideal for me.... can't they do something similar to Sins of a Solar Empire? pay for new expansions instead of monthly payment!
jb511 If you consider yourself a gamer you shouldn't have to worry about what your PC can handle. I built my own PC for less than $900 and it still outpaces anything that Best Buy had for sale with that same price tag, infact it was still doing better then the more "high-end"computers.
The biggest problem I see with it is if it is a MMO and the graphics really look like that, how many PCs are really going to be able to handle this game? Especially with being online, it is going to lag like no tomorrow. We need a new X-Wing. That was the greatest game ever.
Is this a multiplayer online game only? Because some people might not want to deal with the online hastle of other people screwing stuff up. For example your just minding your buisness looking around then you get raped by another player that's more powerful than you. Not cool. I stopped playing online space games since freelancer. But i love these online games but i just want to play an single player space game, since there arn't many out there except for starlacer, freespace 1&2, and some other's but not to many. But if you look at it you have alot more space online games, such as Black Prophecy, Jumpgate Evolution, Eve online etc. It would just be nice to play a single player space game for a change and not worry about other people and all that. The latest one that i have ever played is the X series. Like X2 the threat and X3 Reunion. I loved those games but i just didn't like the combat system in those games. It would be nice to play a really good game such as Freelancer 1&2.
This looks to be more promising than Jumpgate Evolution. Reasons: More Character, Better Feel. The design of ships in a space based game can really mean a lot to people, as that ship is what the player will identify with. I can see myself piloting on of these things. You have my interest.
