some of the animations look glitchy to me. Like when she is climbing a ladder... sweet game though...
I Got last two games this creator got i like heavy rain but I wont be getting this game since story do not interest in me.
This looks really interesting, I never got around to playing Heavy Rain, but I'll have to keep my eye on this one.
This game will be good. Ellen Page is there everywhere with her in The Last Of Us and in Beyond Two Souls.
Ah David Cage, go back and look at what made your Omikron so amazing! Let go of this QTE stuff. It's like i'm playing a tutorial with the game prompting me the button commands every step of the way. That gives me no satisfaction.
I am curious to see the balance between Jodie and Aiden. It sounds like Aiden is a quite powerful entity, so I don't understand why Aiden didn't just intervene in that scene where Jodie was assaulted by that guy with machete and the boy had to save Jodie's life with a rifle shot. Does Aiden secretly hope Jodie loses her corporeal existence? Their relationship could be a real boon to character development, but if it's just something to use in gameplay, I don't see it as that conceptually different from FEAR 3.
I've been crazy over Ellen for over five years. And I've loved games since before I can remember. When I heard they were taking my favorite girl and making a video game (Alright, 'interactive movie' for you critics) out of her, I was in shock. Still am. I only like weird girls and never expected anyone in the gaming industry to take notice of her.
The CoD generation is confused by this. They can't comprehend that a game can have more than a single setting and theme. It's a detective game AND stealth? It plays in North America AND Africa? What's next? More than 6 hour story mode?!? Ellen Page went to a Buddhist school? Do I look like I have time for this?
This game sucks!!! Just give me multiplayer and killstreaks. /s
Great interview! Does anyone else feel the interview camera colour or filter thing looks like its from the 70's or 80's?
holy shit, that looks just like Willem Dafoe! Quantic Dream continue to deliver with great graphics. This game looks awesome.
hopefully this is just one element of the game, I really liked Heavy Rain except for the ending - I'm hoping this is similar to the main core gameplay of Heavy Rain. Still this MGS type of gameplay is quite a surprise, not sure what to think about it.
I don't understand this game. It was originally announced as a psychological thriller with fantastical elements, and now it's a war game starring Ellen Page? I don't understand this one bit. It doesn't seem cohesive, and I've yet to see actual gameplay mechanics. Just like Heavy Rain before it, my guess is this is going to be all style no substance.
@almat96 Heavy Rain is a very beautiful, well written, well acted QTE interactive movie. As nice as it is, I wouldn't call it a proper videogame. This looks like it plays like a classic stealth game for the most part.
Do you know anything about Martial Arts? It's possible. I've seen a 5 ft. guy take down a moron with muscles in no time flat.
@WoZe You can train anyone to do anything if they are willing and devoted to it. Also, she has telekinetic powers.
@Tychobrahi There are many other ways to create a different gameplay style rather than this bullsh*t but their afraid of trying it. I personally find QTEs highly offensive to the gamer's level of intelligence. They spend the most of their budget on non-gameplay parts which aren't even needed ( i.e hiring Hollywood actors) and then they come up with QTEs as an excuse to say: hey it's still a game!
@Kryptonbornson You're kidding, right?
@NuclearFlower I don't care what people call it. I'll "play it" or even "watch it" just for the experience. Even if this will be a movie with choices , that would be awesome to me, because we play this kind of game for the plot and not for the gameplay.
@NuclearFlower It has gameplay, so technically it does qualify.
@Timeaisis You're right, a game that spans multiple decades, locations, and gameplay elements is 'all style, no substance'.
Go back to CoD, idiot.
@Timeaisis It's difficult to make assumptions about a story before you actually know the details of the story. There are plot twists and this story is said to span her 20 year life span so...
@Timeaisis Don't you know? Ellen Paige: 5' 1" Secret Agent War Hero.
shes there to kill someone ordered by the CIA in a place where a war is going on shes not there to fight that war just to kill her target
@max-hit @Tychobrahi I hear ya. The Hollywood bleed-in is getting worse. All that money could be spend on refining the game's A.I. or presentation. Heck spend it on marketing. QTE's have definitely overstayed their welcome. What better way than to allow players to experience a tense moment by interrupting the visuals with button prompts. You want the player to actually control the game? Lunacy!
@yearssomuch Did you just watch the same thing I watched?
@Imperiacommando I think he's aware that it's him, he's saying they did a great job making him identifiable as Willem Dafoe. :P
@Tychobrahi I get what you're saying, I'm sick of QTE's in general. But Heavy Rain is one of the only games I've ever played that prominently featured QTE's, and I was completely and totally fine with it. Quantic Dream knows how to incorporate them properly, and as long as that's the case, there's no problem. Beyond seems to be like Heavy Rain, just with more gameplay mixed in with story moments involving QTE's.
