In many instances I would be against this and say the game should be on all major platforms considering the fact the first game most likely sold a good amount of PS3s and made such a good name for itself that a multiplatform release would make for great sales.
On the other hand Nintendo could really benefit from a good 3rd party exclusive for core gamers which could help move consoles, I always see console gamers telling PC gamers like myself to deal with the fact a game we want isn't coming to PC with comments like "buy a console then"
Well I'm afraid in this case if you want to play Bayonetta 2 then buy a Wii-U
This and the next Zelda are the reasons I will be grabbing a Wii-U after I grab a PS4
Hideki, the creator of the Bayonetta series, said getting Bayonetta 2 on PS3 or 360, is about as likely as getting Zelda on PS3 or 360. So know its never getting ported.
can everyone stop complaining i'm sure that if they make bayonetta 3 WE ARE ALL GETTING IT and can you stop dissing nintendo they are finally getting more hardcore titles on their system this is a good thing not a bad thing........ever heard a wii hardcore game..yeah well i was one of them and it sucked because there was a lack of games that could play that were bloody and had a ton of violence nintendo is doing the right thing with the wiiU this is a really good thin, plus ever heard of walkthroughs just watch one of this game so you won't miss what happen in this one
Sadly the sequel to one of my favourite games of the current generation is coming exclusively to a platform i will never get. Such a disappointment because i love Bayonetta.
i consume your soulInternet Explorer
Its a missed opportunity because I love the original DMC and Bayonetta games. I don't have or plan on ever buying a Wii U, this title deserved to reach a wider audience.
I hate them commercials in every video in the net ;/ It always stops me from watching the movie I came for in the first place...
Such a lovely game. Sadly its on wii u, Don't get me wrong!! I was hoping for Wii U to be better than this. It's just a system that is competing with PS3 & 360. It should have competed with PS4 and X1. The 1st wii was successful because it offered something new. The wii u simply expand on the wii and didn't go as far as it should have. For those who say 'wait till the titles are released' Are you serious??? have you seen the inovation or the scope of the new IPs that are coming in next gen!!! Most of wii u games are old catalog right now, and this may change in the future it will be well behind. Sony are charging now so they can rival MS in terms of online superiority by offering better services. What wii u is doing now is trying to catch up to a rocket by driving a car!!! Let's face it, Wii U is not as the same caliber as PS4 and X1.
Haven't devpolers learned from DmC to leave character design alone.??.........The whole point in BAYONETTA haveing long hair was because her long hair doubled up as her costume. hvaing her hair detached from her body seems silly.
WiiU needs a real 3D Mario, a good Pokemon game (it would be awesome with that controller), and a 3D Donkey Kong Country.
Super Mario 3D World is 3D, but the gameplay looks like a 2D Isometric world, so it don't feels a complex game of Mario the system needs. Looks good, i wanna play it, but we also needs a 3D Mario awesome like Mario Galaxy was for the Wii.
The same I say to DK Tropical Freeze, the game looks awesome, but it also looks small and not complex enougth to be a badass game. The game is just a 2D side scrolling game with 3D graphics and with some 3D interations, but that plays most of the time like a 2D game. WiiU needs a DK reformuled like Mario Galaxy in comparison with New Mario Bros, but in it's owl way, of course.
Zelda we already know its coming, that's good. And Super Mario 3D World and DK Tropical Freeze can hold the console for some time, but we will need more complex and complete versions of these games!
About Bayonetta, looks good, but I really dont care...
it seems so fit for a ps4. instead it's going towards an 'irrelevant' system.
hate me all you want, but the Wii U definitely is irrelevant at this moment.
I have to say, if only the first wasn't such a DMC rip off I would have enjoyed it more, it was still pretty fun though, sadly not looking forward to this much.
@mkeezay22 many of you didnt know the back story about this game. basically, Sega didnt want to publish Bayonetta 2 which means this game was not even possible, then Nintendo come alone and help publish and fund game dev. to make this game come true.
@14monkey That's a muddy issue since Nintendo and Sega are co-publishing. I read an official quote from Platinum to the effect of, "going multiplat is up to Nintendo." which isn't likely considering Ninty will want to keep as many exclusives (especially "core titles"). Nintendo would have to basically abandon Bayo3 after putting a LOT of money and support into Bayo2.
Plausible but not likely.
@lusitanogamer If you really love it, then perhaps you should reconsider obtaining that platform. Given that Nintendo has the publishing rights, I doubt it will see other platforms any time soon.
@Sanguis_Malus were you also bummed when Castlevania Bloodline was released only on Genesis? or that Final Fantasy VII was only on Playstation? or maybe Halo only on Xbox? people seem to forget that exclusives are what drives a system, or at least they used to.
@Sanguis_Malus I am sorry, I do not agree with you. This is exactly what the system needs, and along with their amazing big list of upcoming exclusive games, Nintendo will do great in the months to come. I suggest you buy one, :D
@Sword403 You're right, I have seen the inovation of the next gen and it's with the Wii U. Destiny looks great and Titanfall will sell millions, but they don't seem very groundbreaking. The Wii U is actually unique in what it's trying to do rather than just upping the graphics and giving more limitations to the gamers.
@Sword403 I dont agree with some of your points, Wii U is doing just fine, with 25 launch titles, and great innovations. Nintendo never failed to bring out innovative systems like the original Wii, Wii U is innovative in many ways..
1 being Wii U's Gamepad, touchscreen mechanics brings a whole new ball game to players, try checking out ZombiU. Ubisoft did a remarkable job on utilizing the Gamepad.
2 a constant community you can always be connected with with "Miiverse" sharing comments, pictures, tips and hints with other players, direct access to this community through games is such a breath of fresh air.
Nintendo has had a few slow months, but with their great online services "eShop", digital downloads, Virtual Console, Nintendo Direct's, its doing just fine, and soon it will be a strong contender to the likes of Microsoft and Sony, with lets be honest... what we all want the most, "Exclusive Quality Titles" Like Bayonetta 2.
Nintendo is capable of great things.
@MadaraSoul Chicks tend to change haircut from time to time. You should try it too ;)
@MadaraSoul Some people just can't handle change, if everyone was like that we'd still be in the stone age.
@MadaraSoul Hey, at least her personality is still intact.
I'm sure they'll be a costume resembling the her original design, personally i'm not too bothered. I'm glad that they're mixing things up.
@freefadi7 Too bad THE Nintendo is the publisher, not going to happen any time soon.
@Hakumen21 so let me get this straight they announce smash bros i game that everyone and their dog buys and announce Mario kart another beloved series that sells well and a zelda game and another mario game....all these serise that people love and buy and you're saying the wiiU is irrelevant....hmm yeah you're right no one is talking about the wiiU. come on seriously?
@Hakumen21 you're tears of jealousy are delicious.
@Hakumen21 if the console is so irrelevant. what are you doing here. moron'?
@Hakumen21 The game wouldn't exist if it weren't for Nintendo. As far as relevance, its the only next gen console with Free Online, No DRM, & backwards compatibility. PS4 + Wii-U will be a good combo.
@helldragonzerShaka, when the walls fell.
@helldragonzerthe creator of bayonetta is the creator of DMC, idiot
@HiImUPSMan Try giving the console some time to release new titles. Stop being so jaded within the first 5 minutes.
@pyroman9997 Well then go cry to the publisher(s) that dropped it while it was still in development (before it was even announced)
@pyroman9997 Well put!
@lorider25 Yeah, Kamiya is a huge Sega fan and when he was working for Sega on the original Bayonetta he included a lot of homages to Sega's history.
@Sharkspawn80 25 launch titles, eh? Sounds impressive. Let's have a looksee... Ninja Gaiden 3, Game Party Champions, Sing Party, Skylanders, Tank! Tank! Tank!, Sonic All Star Racing, Your Shape: Fitness Evolved, 11 multi-plat games that came out for other platforms months before WiiU's launch.. the go-to game for all the "Nintendo is still hardcore" people out there, ZombieU. Add up their average reviews and the launch lineup has an average score of 67.
The two best games, to me, Nano Assault Neo and Chasing Aurora are eShop games. Not exactly something to buy a console over.
Everything is subjective and some games are certainly "good" in their own right, but they aren't the type of game the majority of people will buy a console over. Look at "sales" just over 3 million units SHIPPED versus the Wii's 20 in the same time frame.
I will wholeheartedly agree that they have an impressive exclusive lineup coming soon. Bayonetta 2, new Mario, Zelda, Smash Bros., the new Sonic game looks amazing, the new Xeno game looks amazing (from what little there is to see)... but considering Nintendo's two previous generations this onslaught of quality titles will be followed up with a two year dry spell since all their "first party (I'm including the few third party exclusives)" titles have been exhausted.
And with the "consumer confusion" surrounding the gamepad controller and what exactly the difference is between the Wii and WiiU (ask random moms and dads at the local brick-and-mortar stores. They have no idea. Many think the screen controller is an add-on to the Wii.) and sales will spike then dip back down.
The Miiverse is cool, but it's still "kid friendly" in the sense that the app/system is very "closed." If they were to add in cross-platform support for Twitter and Facebook, it would be a lot more appealing to a wider consumer base. As it is, you're stuck in the WiiU's personal walled-garden applications. If others don't have the WiiU, they're out of the loop. Opening up to cross-posting would be like free advertizing. That works great to keep the kiddies safe, but it hurts the platform when Ninty also says they are going to cater to the "core/hardcore" market. It's a similar mistake to "friend codes" from the Wii. High privacy without a choice.
The gamepad, again, has only served to confuse average consumers and then not even be used to make "innovative" games. The best you get is a fake version of AR (a la ZombiU) or an interactive map/inventory. Super Mario let's you tap to place blocks for friends, but that's something that could easily be done with a Wiimote. Hardly "innovative." They need to look to their own DS/3DS for inspiration.
All that said, I STILL want the WiiU to be successful. I want it to have great, innovative games. I want it to build a catalog of third-party exclusives that are tailored to the console (exclusives are always best because they're made specifically for THAT hardware). It's just the realist in me that looks at the facts and the history and can't get excited about what Nintendo is ultimately going to be offering me this generation.
@Booozak Yep, but still the original hair style was better looking.
@SlowMotionKarma Well said, indeed and great points.
That's exactly the problem your 100% right. That's pretty crazy and unfair for Nintendo fans, someone else should be running the show over there.. I work in retail and none has any clue that Nintendo Wii U is a new system and not an upgrade to the Wii! Lol... Kid's will play the demo staton, and they kid will be like "mom can we get this?" the moms anwer, "we already have one dear" Lol... makes me ill to think wow... great job Nintendo in clarifying that... I try to explain to consumers the best I can about the Wii U, but what else can I do?.. oh well...
But I am 100% clear on something, I have owned my Wii U for since release and since release I have been playing it, between their 25 launch titles, by the way ground breaking, no system in history has ever had so many games on launch.

That's my reason to by a Wii U. Set aside everything, Nintendo will get sales, because they have the games that "everyone wants to play" and in innovative ways. I am still playing Nintendo Land with family and friends up to 5 players coop or vs! ZombiU didnt get good reviews, but its incredibly fun, everyone that's owned it or played it had fun with it. Arkham City Armored Edition is incredible and also a good show case of what to look forward to in games for Wii U, technical stand point and their getting better, a lot better from what I see. Nintendo just had an update somewhat recently that made there system load super fast! It's pretty amazing to see that if you ask me, they could just fix, adjust, or tweek their system here and there and its better then before... I suggest you buy one you will enjoy it. :)
On a side note I own a 360, and PS3 so if I wanted to play anything I could, and I will be owning the PS4 along side my Nintendo Wii U! I am looking forward to the future!
