The specs of the PCs that actually ran the game at all the conferences and expo's were damn supercomputers and not sub $1000 hardware. Caspain Boarder demo was run on like SLI'd 560's or something. Most of you with the specs mentioned aren't running 1080p @ 60fps (consistent) on ultra high settings. And if your not running that whats the ****ing point of bragging?
@InfestedHunter.. You don't need to spend nearly that much. My computer dominates games like ARMA II, Battlefield 3 (played the alpha), FSX (somewhat, that game's a beast), and literally every single game I have played on the highest settings. My system is: Phenom II x4 @ 2.8ghz ($100) (haven't had a reason to over-clock yet) 4GB Ram ($75) Radeon 5870 1G ($220) Asus M4A88T evo-3 ($120) 650 watt PSU ($80) So, you're looking at about $600 for a rig that has lasted several years and will last a couple more (at least til the new generation of consoles come out).. But then, I'll just over-clock my CPU and bridge another GPU for 1/4 of the price of a new system. Happy shooting fellow Battlefieldians.
@InfestedHunter Not true about needing a $1500 computer. I got my new PC for just under $1000 and it easily breaks the recommended specs. PC gaming isn't nearly as expensive as it used to be.
I think they are doing it on XBOX360 is because it might be more stable. Also the computers would probably need to be in the 1500$ range to play it on a smooth setting. And XBL is so accessible. I just hope they just use Keyboard+mouse for the tournament.
Not sure how to tell the wife that imma be cheating on her with a game. Cuz when this comes out, im afraid itll see more of me than she will
Geez give it a rest already. "It's meant to be played like this, not like that." We get it. You're a long time fanboy and were already on the BF series before BFBC2 made it popular with console only players.
Ah, finally it's in a geographically diverse city unlike the boring cities we see in every single movie and tv show every single day. I will be competing in this. See you there.
really gamespot?? youre going to have a BF3 12v12 tournament..on xbox360? why not PC as it is clearly the best version of the game and the way the Developer Dice has repeatedly stated that the PC platform will lead with this game it wont even be entertaining to watch all those bad console players with their gamepads getting owned. what a joke.
@domxnik I take it you're not subscribed to BF3 news. They've announced open beta will launch September 29th.
Too bad I don't live anywhere close, but good luck to those to enter. Hopefully the rumors are true about the beta coming out this week but if not it's going to be out this month and the month is almost over. Either way, we won't have to wait much longer.
No way I could go out there just for a tournament that I most likely wouldn't win... Now, if you want to pay for me to fly there then I'll sure go ahead and win, otherwise I'm out.
