@tab2832 Downloaded the demo for Backbreaker, & played it twice. I will NOT buy this. I deleted it from my drive! LOL
@BlakkSteel You are right about that glitch thing. I see it almost every sports game.. But madden does have some pays that are damn near impossible to start. I've realized that it doesnt bother me as much until you pay someone who uses nothing but that play the entire game and then act as if they're great.. But I wish they both were making football game because with comp comes major improvements.. When it comes to the basketball game I agree with that. The controls could be better.
@tab2832 'Nuff respect. In regards to the Live/2K debate, the ONLY thing that I don't like about NBA 2K10, is the controls are not as tight. The players take a little long to respond to the control shift. Otherwise, I don't have the same problem when drivin' to either side, & it can be a serious 'block party' in the paint. I love it. As far as Madden/NFL 2K5 debate, I thoroughly respect that you stated that's your opinion (cyber-dap!). My massive problem with Madden came in the form of those unstoppable, gimmicky plays. EVERY year of Madden has them. The graphics haven't really broke the bank in years, but make it do what it do. When I had 1 of my boys handled WELL in the game, he found 2 gimmick plays where there were no real answers (because your defender would NEVER make it to the spot on-time). I started goin' thru my collection, playin' each decendin' year, & found the plays for them, too. I stopped takin' Madden serious at that point. 2K5 just feels more natural to me. You fight for everything, as you should, since football is a game of attrition. Yeah, the ESPN shows durin' the game were hot; but the 1st person play easily soared it over the top for me. With the already fantastic game play, it took me back to my field days. To each his own, but I'd prefer another REAL 2K football title over Madden any day of the week (All Pro 2K8 was okay, but didn't quite cut it).
@BlakkSteel i have played every single madden and nfl 2k ever made.. When 2k5 first came out i loved it 1 cause it was cheap and two it was football. I actualy did think 2k5 was better than madden in some (not all) aspects. but like every sports game it had things that always worked and i didnt like it. I personally dont know one person who didnt like madden and was good at it. LMAO at your actually played comment (play te, fb, og, ot, de, dt). I have played and love the sport of football to death and i dont feel 2k5 is better madden 10. The only thing that is still hands down better was the halftime and post week shows.. they put espn to work in there games unlike madden does and i hate it. and when it comes to live/2k (play pf and center as well) i loved live until the next gen version then 2k took it over in my eyes.. i feel 2k is alot better than ive but i always think that its flawed as well. the pick and roll works to easy and its to easy to score in the paint. also i hate when your drive to your left and try to shoot and it makes you spot and square up. every sports game has something you can do where its either hard or impossible to stop. the slant route is usally what it is in madden and was the same in 2k5 and in nba 2k10 you can just got to the hole shoot it and if its not block it usally goes in.. i still own madden 2010 nfl2k5 and nba 2k10 and i respect your opinion im just basing this off what i think and have seen.
@tab2832 You're not THE ONLY person that's played the Maddens up 'til now. Better yet, I OWN a lot of 'em. MY preference of NFL 2K5 as THE BEST football game has absolutely nothin' to do with skill. If I couldn't play it, I wouldn't have bought it! So, miss me with the weak jab at any lack in skills. Who does that?! If you've TRULY played ALL of the Maddens, as you claim to have, then you'd know, like all REAL Madden players know, that Madden is full of gimmicks & gimmick plays. Even with the best years of the title ('09 was 1 of the best in 5 years), it still wasn't as good as 2k5. For those of us that have ACTUALLY PLAYED the sport, 2k5 feels more realistic. In it, you have to tap to outrun the defender. You have to fight to break the tackles. It handled closer to life. As far as Live/2K-whatever, I ran Live 'til 2K came along. It stopped matchin' up. Again, a sport that I played (Center, Small Forward). I eat thru the pick & roll. It's about ball rotation, as it is ON the court. This year's Madden (which neither you or anyone else even owns (???!)) will be pretty much like '10. Madden only makes major advancements about every 4 years (like leap year). This won't be revolutionary; it'll be more of the same, like '10 was not revolutionary. It was just a continuance, as '11 will be.
@blakksteel First off i have played every madden, gamebreaker, and 2k football game there is and i can tell you that 2k5 is not better than this years madden. they have not made big difference from year to year, but you can see that there are sime changes.... the only thing 2k5 had over madden was the post week and half time shows.... nothing gameplay wise tho... i loved 2k5 and i still have it. but madden is way better than it... from my experience with gamers the people that complain about madden or use to say live wasnt better ( which 2k is the better now) was because they either where not good at it or expect way to much... 2k games were and aways have been easier. or theyve always had one thing that was unstoppable in the sports games.... in nba 2k's its usually the pick and roll. but the madden franchise does need to add some more extras to franchise mode and hafltimes and stuff. but this backbreaker looks like nfl fever... and i remember people saying that was going to be better than madden and those where the worst football games of all time...( incuding nes football)
@tab2832 Regarding " . . . perfect game or suck at it . . .", it's neither. Madden Has been the same exact game 2004. It hasn't gotten any better, gameplay-wise. Only the graphics have grown a little. If you wanna corner the market with the franchise, produce a better game. Sadly enough, NFL 2K5 is STILL better than Madden. But, bein' an NFL fan has the masses at the store for the new Madden release every year. Madden is just a maintainin' game, & isn't forced to get any better. If it was 'the truth' all like that, games like BackBreaker wouldn't even get a look, let alone any hype.
madden is hands down better.... most people who dont like madden either expect to see a perfect game or they suck at it...
maverick_76 I'm a die hard Eagles fan, I have no choice but to get Madden every year, haha they have NFL fans by the balls, plus it sounds easy to say dont buy madden, thing is, not enough people will stop buying it. Purely because there is alot of people out there who for some reason think its a great game I'mm gonna get both Backbreaker and Madden 11 Peace! Go Eagles!
@bleedgreen2-1-5 If you want Madden to ever get better, don't give them a damn nickel. I haven't since 2003.
i nnever play football[ im a hockey hardcore player] i think football games are hard to control and handle. am i right?
Excuse me..............I gotta go change my pants. Hahahaha Yo this game looks killer, I'mma get this on release date, although I'm forced to get Madden to (Wah Waaaaaaah) Peace! Go Eagles!
The mechanic of leading the receiver by "following-through" with the right stick after throwing looks like it could be a very cool mechanic. I don't like the Madden method of leading with the left stick. If you time it incorrectly and flick the stick too soon, you cause the QB to move, which could get you sacked or cause a bad throwing animation that will lead to an INT or incomplete. Only two more weeks to go! Unless they delay it again...
That could be a challenge, considering I tend to get panicky when passing. Edit: Then again, I can treat this like a 21st century version of Tecmo Bowl.
