@slonekb05 This is a pre-order DLC.. so it is good to inform us who preordered it, what we are receiving, and also to motivate other user to buy this excelent game ;)
This is becoming a trend which really irritates me. Announcing DLC before the game even drops. I know there's downtime in between when game is done and when it is released but it just looks bad. Wait a few weeks till after game is out.
@Darkages04 I liked the demo. Although I don't know whether some of the key elements of the game were stripped, i.e. masking your gunshot with background explosions; disguises, etc. But perhaps you can enlighten me with more information regarding that? All in all, it seems to be a game I'll take a 'shot' with - which could keep me busy until, Max Payne is released and then subsequently Dragon's Dogma.
@Patcheeee Very true. Although the case could be made that Hitler was responsible for the most deaths indirectly caused! It is sad that Stalin's brutality is largely forgotten. But when it is remembered, it's remembered by religious nutjobs who like to attribute his barbarity to his atheism (actually he somewhat forced himself to be revered as a god through his politics) which is entirely incorrect. 30 million is somewhat of a slight exaggeration: his regime is most likely directly responsible for one third of that figure, and at least another 10 million that could be attributed as an indirect result, i.e. Lysenko's biology, famine, etc. Sorry, I couldn't help myself. I love discussing history.
You people are dumb.... Hilter wasnt the worst killer of ww2..... Hello EVERYBODY forgot the fact that STALIN MURDERED 30 MILLION PEOPLE......
i know you can shoot em in the nuts and it shows the bullet going through. if you do this to hitler does he only have 1
VercettiTommyy : I agree with you If the name Hitler was not in the game, was slightly better The Germans will not find any to defend his country's history?
hey !!!! Kill Fuhrer ???? :D :))) Hitler is not dead Was a great man I do not do this game I love Hitler Damn this game
IRL this was called Operation Foxley and was a British mission. The planning went pretty far before it was cancelled. It was going to be a sniper shot at the Bärkov, with for sentimental reasons a Mauser 98.
@abompro And I also said Truman and Hitler were both monsters. Tyrants in different ways. Things like them don't deserve to live.
I am definitely getting this game. The AI was great compared to other sneak games. They don't auto detect when you are within a certain number of meters away like your common shooter these days. And I am a big fan of third person. I think more work is put into the game when designing character movements, cover systems and injuries. And the traps one can set are awesome! I can't wait for the retail version. And honestly, the co-op limitation to online multiplayer is a smart move as long as consumers aren't let down by a short campaign. 8+ hours would probably be needed if they want to ward off the strict competitive multiplayer fans. If they wanted to incorporate a competitive online feature, I would suggest only a cage match mode similar to that found in Call of Duty 4..... but better.
@burtonboy05 - How did AC screw itself by adding MP? It's not like they took out the single player. They just added something to the game to increase longevity. I don't think the addition impacted the single player at all. AC screwed itself in refusing to move past Ezio until now. On topic, this game looks great.
The game seems nice, the first one was also pretty good. But the assassinate Hitler thing is a disgrace.
I played the demo. It blew my mind (no pun intended). One of the funnest games I've played in a long, long time.
@lazyfingers - I commend them for not putting in MP. Not every game requires MP to be successful. Assassins creed never required MP yet they screwed the game by adding it. Batman AA and Batman AC both GOTY candidates no MP and both ripping games. I hope this kicks some hole, loved the demo so I hope the end product is just as good.
Loved the original version.... (then came along all sorts of fps games) but this one took its time to release a sequel, well atlast. Has anyone played the demo which was lately released, what you guys think of it...
I'm getting kind of tired of WW2 FPS games. I think the market is truly overflooded with them. I personally wouldn't shove more money into this line of the gaming industry and by doing this, try to force developer companies to use their ingenuity and creativity to release an original product.
@ Tseng R&D my A**, are you actually a part of the military? Do you serve... probably not. Otherwise you'd know that everything is getting cut as far as well needed manpower, classrooms for training, equipment to do our job (boy I wonder why our jets are having problems?). Besides that, if there were ever a time we needed these things and we got invaded, then we'd be called ignorant for not being better prepared. EVERYTHING, not everyone has a rich mommy and daddy to pay for their schooling, so they do what they can to make a life for themselves. The real budgeting issue is our politics in general. Millions of dollars vanishing for hurricane relief, politics buying new boats, up-scaling their houses. Lets not forget a soldier has to do 20 years before he's eligible to retire, those who "serve" in office need do only 10. I love my country, but fear my government.
This is awesome! I STILL own the original Sniper Elite for xbox and was actually thinking of popping it in. Now instead I get to look forward to this instead! It's simple, yet enjoyable like its predecessor. I'm happy a game focused on campaign as opposed to slamming everything they could into multi-player. There's enough short campaigned too much multi-player games out there already!
@NightLord47: Good grief are you a hypocrite. You say that compassion is the last vestige that separates us from the animals, but earlier you said you'd like to kill Truman as well as Hitler
Amazingly they have released this without PvP multiplayer on PS3 and xbox, thats my pre-order scrapped, a historically inaccurate DLC won't save this game now, they should have spent there time working to provide TDM instead of this:(
you know nothing, why would we let people die for a reason to attack back? so america knew about pearl harbor, but thought hey lets let these people die so we can fight back and lose more american lifes? Did you even graduate high school? If so Id like to know how.
@CharlesBurns Amen to that. In the USA, 90% of our taxes go to 'Defense', which is a blanket term for all the private R&D that goes on here. President Obama finally cut the budget, and the Army **** their pants because all of a sudden them and their retired buddies in the private sector are making less money off the average American citizen. And if you think our Defense budget isn't bloated, look at the F-22. $65 billion and not only have they never been used in combat, they are currently grounded and under investigation by the government for an oxygen malfunction (and the government just released a report saying they don't know what the problem is). Meanwhile, basic education suffers from class size increase and a cut to funding year over year, and college tuition rises 10% a semester. But our priorities aren't screwed up at all, right? :/
@ Ultra_Taco Before Pearl Harbour the USA was looking for an excuse to get involved in WW2. War is business. The USA also knew days in advance that there was a Japanese fleet on their way. They did nothing, they let the Japanese attack so that they could use it an an excuse to retaliate and try out their new Bomb. Around 100 000 people were killed at Hiroshima, 45000 instantly the rest in the next few months, not to mention the other couple 100 thousand who died over the next 20 years from radiation induced illnesses like cancer. In contrast there were about 2500 people killed at Pearl Harbour. Of those, not even 100 were civilians. Do the math. It's simple, the arms industry is the biggest industry on earth, War fuels that industry. Only the soldiers on the ground are fighting for their beliefs, the government don't care, they're in it for the money. Just do a little reading on the internet.
@Ultra_Taco I wasn't talking about who started killing civilians first because it doesn't matter. And I'm not saying it was wrong of america to join the war. I was talking about the inhumanity of murdering innocent people. And if civilians are killed it's absolutly right to go after the ones who did it, but it wasn't civilians killing civilians in the war, it was soldiers killing civilians. It's not right to kill one innocent person to avenge another innocent person is it? BTW: If you answer this, please use the "@"-thing right. No space in between, it was mere chance that I found your comment.
@ NightLord47, At your comment on Japan: I really find it funny you say that it is wrong that we killed civilians to end the war because Japan were the ones that attacked us first! Killing countless civilians in Pearl Harbor, thats the whole reason we got into the War in the Pacific in WWII.
dxBIGBOSSxs arguments were all focused around statistics. And he calls himself a "god debater". lol...
@Chavis02 lol. Was fun while it lasted, but in all honesty I never actually get mad at these people. He brought it on himself. First rule of the Internet, "Don't say anything political, religious, or sports related and you'll avoid looking like an idiot and getting owned by a much better debater." :)
@dxBIGBOSSxb I know history quite well, thank you. And Japan was not better than America in any way. But I'm not talking about what they did. There is never a reason to kill anybody who ain't fighting back, like women and children. This is about whats humane, which I understand you think is "garbage". Killing people who wants to kill you, that's war. But when you start killing those who don't fight back, it becomes murder - simple as that. Just because Japanese soldiers may have done the same it doesn't justify anyone else doing it. "You kill my mother, I kill yours?" And in your "arguments" you keep speaking in statistics half the time, so like it or not, you are being a cold-hearted, calculating machine. I'm sorry if you feel offended by the truth but If you're inclined to stand by your ideas you might as well accept that. When you have looked into the eyes of hundreds of thousands of innocent people, and then detonated an atomic bomb over their heads, when you have done that YOURSELF - speak to me again and tell me if it felt humane. Until then, don't be so quick to embrace mass-murder as a solution. Now I'm done talking to a mind of stone so don't bother answering this. Goodbye.
@NightLord47 It's inhumane to end a war early so more people don't die? Sounds humane to me, even at the cost of 200,000. Also, what about the 400,000 slaughtered Philippine civilians? the Bataan Death March at over 70,000? The Rape of Nanjing at over 900,000? All by Japanese hands. where is your humanity in that culture? By their morals, it was their rightful, humanitarian duty to kill all those who don't worship under the flag of Rising Sun. The exact same type of code was used under their troops. The prisoner rate for Japan was under 1% of the Casualty rating. Why? They believed their codes of honor, under their SWORN HUMANITY as followers of Bushido, to kill themselves if ever captured, so as not to embarrass their Emperor. You don't count additional cultures form of humanity, you don't know history, and your arguments come across more as a joke than an actual, philosophical argument.
@NightLord47 OMG! Lol! I couldn't stop laughing. It's that kind of pseudo-philosophical, Liberal-Humanitarian garbage that is why idiots care about the whole Kony, despite him being around for over 20 years doing the same s*** and no one caring till now. From a machine's standpoint? Who in stupid's name just said "Truman is worse than Hitler a statement so misguided and moronic, I can't believe you honestly said that. Cost us our humanity? Thinking of the big picture?... riiiiiiiiiiight. Keep telling yourself that. If you knew ANY history, you'd know since the DAWN OF F***ING TIME, humanity has ALWAYS had conflict. 5000 years ago, people were killed. 1000 years ago, people were killed. 100years ago, people were killed. 10 years ago, people were killed. It's not "being a machine" to know history, you tool. Your "Humanity" statement may make sense to a bunch of misguided J'ak Rousseau followers. I follow the examples of Thomas Hobbes, the one who is sane, in which he clearly stated "If humanity is pure good, than why do we need keys?" You clearly don't know what you're speaking.
@dxBIGBOSSxb @Sgthombre All your arguments are solid, from a machines point of view. But all you really need to ask yourselves is this: What will all those sacrifices have been worth the day we all lose our humanity and start thinking like machines? See I AM thinking about the big picture here. Because the one thing that separates us from the animals is our ability for compassion. If we lose that, what are we?
...certainly it's not a realistic mission to assassinate Hitler !...passing all personal defense alone!...
@NightLord: "Are you trying to say shooting Hitler will be a bad thing?" I guess you didn't read that one. I was asking you if you are trying to say shooting Hitler will be a bad thing and I didn't say "You said it". Also you should be ashamed of yourself to not know much about this history.
