Content and gameplay is the same? then all is ok on earth. Won't loose my pants over slightly inferior graphics on a console.
It's Ps3.5 vs Xbox 540 vs PC
Both Sony and Microsoft could easily have created more powerfull next-gen consoles.
If GS has covered footage of havana or kingston.. It would be enlightening...specially on PC with very high..god rays..HBAO..Soft shadows.. how many particles appear when there's an explosion.. but instead just a formal video with showing very few pc comparison clips.
graphics and texture wise, they all look pretty much the same. PC and PS4 appeared to have more vibrant colors though.
Most pc ports don't even let you scale the game past whatever the settings for the consoles would be. So yes, this totally pointless.
what a useless waste of time.. now why in heck use a crappy PC or GPU? I would have though it would be better to know how much better the game could look.. rather than lets try and make them all look equal..
To utilise a very old saying " Beauty is in the eye of the beholder ". Graphics are great compared with the past, its early days and as always the devs will push the machines and dear old PC to their max over the next 5 years. So best advice is enjoy the ride, enjoy the games and enjoy life. And using another saying " You never had it so good ".
Why did they use a sucky pc? The framerate is way lower than on my pc. Usually the pc wins if you set it to max settings.
The close quarter textures appear same across all the platforms including PC. However, the draw distances and foliage textures which are far are clear & sharp on PS4 & PC when compared to XBOX one. Having said that, this game perhaps may not be the best game to portray the next-gen graphics.
this is not the right game to compare graphics, this game does not even look that great even on the PC, not a true next gen title when it comes to graphics.
This game doesn't push any of these systems anywhere near their limits so its not gonna show much anyway. It's always difficult with a pc comparison too as pc's are so variable, do you compare to a similar specced pc or one that matches the cost etc etc. Regardless its a great game and looks great on all three so everyone can enjoy whatever they choose to buy it on. Happy days!
Okay... this one sucked GS.
First of all, the PC used in this video obviously sucks as the FPS drops to a crawl.
Second, OBVIOUSLY you're not using MAX settings, as the AA in the PC footage seems to be completely OFF.
Third... If you're making PC comparisons, you want to have footage of the jungle, which showcases a MUCH higher draw distance and MUCH better AA (especially because this "next" gen line of crap STILL doesn't do AA).
This video only had PC footage of CUTSCENES and Abstergo, further strengthening the notion that the PC you guys used sucks.
Personally, I'd rather have you guys do "XBONE vs PS4 GFX comparison" and have a notice that reads "PC Graphics will always be better, so we didn't bother".
TL;DR - Go watch a different GFX comparison video as Gamespot screwed the PC on this one.
Ok, hmm, xbone seems the weaker of the 3 and you could see that the pc it ran on wasn´t 100% highend it had some serious frame drops at the end.
But they all look alike and its probably intended from ubisoft and they didn´t go all out for the pc.
I heard microsoft was changing the name of the xone back to the original name they had picked out for it, xbox720p
All of you saying there's a "CLEAR" winner must be crazy. All of these versions look exactly the same graphically. The color may be slightly different between them, but that can be adjusted. Graphically however, there is NO winner. We will have to wait for other comparisons.
They all look exactly the same. What I find funny, is the legion of PC people, who said, consoles can never match up to PC power, & graphics. Ha-ha, really now?! I loved that we proved them, not only wrong, but they don't know what they're talking about. It was & IS totally possible. I'm sure they knew that too, but didn't wanna admit it. I guess I understand, I mean it's all about who has the most moolah, on the block, to buy the biggest, clunkiest, space hogging, noise making, PC. Now they know they don't need all that. Neither does anyone.... *runs & flings self behind couch screaming "OH GOD! It's just my opinion"!!! hiding from player haters*
Ok that was a waste of time did anyone else notice that pc was the best by a bit but found that in some cases xbox one was better and ps4 was better? so strange.
wow.... Ubisoft really needs to upgrade that engine.. holy hell this game looks like it was made 5 years ago.
@ardentlycore Recorded on a PC not powerful enough to run + record.
@GearDoGiThe point of a console is: Cheap high-quality gaming.
Making them more powerful would mean making them more expensive, which would beat the purpose of them against a PC.
@FretsOfDeathFunny thing, right? PS3 and 360 had the same difference when compared.
@dogman12602 Borderlands 2, Arkham Origins, Tomb Raider, DMC, Payday 2, the Witcher 2 just to name a couple, all look significantly better on PC
@scubamonkey123 It pretty much always PC version settings at max.
@Faye_Tallity This video is poorly done when it comes to comparing PC to consoles. There is hardly any PC gameplay. I would say its more about comparing XONE to PS4 as usual. Perhaps not a bad choice to leave PC out because there is no use comparing when everyone knows the results. Cutscenes dont count everyone knows that. If PC set to max and uses TXAA there is a huge difference between PC and consoles.
Assassins Creed really is not the right game when it comes to comparing PC to consoles. There are a multitude of games which you could use to compare where huge differences can be seen in favor of PC. But if you do wish to try and compare PC to the two consoles using ACBF either find some PC HD gameplay somewhere else and put it next to this video or ask gamespot to redo this. You will be proven wrong by the draw distance alone.
Other than that I would say that around release time consoles occasionally get close to reasonably priced game rigs but as time passes, for arguments sake lets say a year, you will see that PCs continue to grow whereas consoles do not. Its hard to say that this isnt so.
@Faye_Tallity I don't think you quite understand.
The PC version of this game is a port and Ubisoft don't make there games much better on PC at least the Assassins creed games anyway.
Seriously are you trolling or do you actually not know a lot about this stuff?
It's not about money either, as most PC gamers are always looking for a good deal. Besides in the long term its cheaper. (if you buy a lot of games). As PC games are generally cheaper due to a number of reasons (publishing and licensing being two).
PC has A LOT more exclusives. And yes games will always perform better. I know its previous gen but look at Skyrim for goodness sake, that game runs terrible on consoles. yes PC gets 60+fps 1080p.
Need I go on?
Saying all that I am loving my new PS4.
@Faye_Tallity except this game isnt even using the full power of the pc. If there is going to be a true and fair comparison then they have to show it while having the consoles and the pc at full power.
And what do you mean 'space hogging'? Even if you own a console, you'll be having a PC too, for tasks other than gaming. That means, having a PC and console occupies more space than just a PC(which can be used for gaming and other tasks too).
Let me see you say this after a couple of years, when PC hardware would have advanced by a mile but the consoles would still be stuck with the same hardware they shipped with. During launch, consoles obviously match up to PCs, but the REAL fun for PC gamers start after a couple of years of the consoles' release. And there are several other advantages like keyboard/mouse controls and mod support, which makes PC the best platform for games.
@Helios_Sun whats wii u?
@chase220 @Warlord_Irochi@sirjayjayecIt is good to have gaming PC next to console - I have one, too, but feeling superior is plain silly. Some of the best games are released as exclusives, and no superior feel will let you play them on your mighty PC.
Additionally, console games will not remain the same for the life of console. Developers are hardly tapping into full capabilities of hardware. Sure, hardware will remain the same, but games will improve a lot before they reach full potential of provided hardware. Just look at Resistance 1, compared with Resistance 2 and 3. Same hardware, very different outcome.
@Warlord_Irochi @sirjayjayecFunny, isn't it? So many people still believing (or at least claiming) that all you need is match part-to-part specs wise, and suddenly you will get a system at least as good as console.
Yet none of them bothers to consider how come such mediocre system like PS3 (or X360) with 256MB of RAM, 256MB of VRAM and pre-historic Nvidia 7800-class graphics can crunch out beauties like GT6, Uncharted, Killzone, God of War, Last of Us, Soulcalibur and Tekken.
I'd really like to see someone put together PC with comparable specs and show us how that competes. Lets see best PC racer that can run on 7800 with playable framerates. Let's compare older Tomb Raider games with Uncharted. Let's see best fighter or hack&slash capable of running on that hardware.
Consoles will always have much better optimization. There is only one standard configuration and developers can analyse how game runs on it and hand-optimize visuals much better than on PC, where game is supposed to run on wide rande of hardware and software, and be able to auto-optimize to specific configuration on the run. Considering what was possible on PS3, I really expect that games to hit PS4 from end of this year and on (for a while, at least) will be able to match IQ of much, much higher end PC hardware.
@Warlord_Irochi @sirjayjayec I am so sick of the "it will still be playable in 7 years" argument. The graphical quality will also remain unchanged for the next 7 years, that means that the graphics in 2020 will look the same as in 2013. How is that a good thing? They have almost maxed out the capabilities of the years old hardware in the "next gen" consoles. 1080p at 30 fps while a moderate PC can get up to 60. I run Black Flag on Ultra, 1440p monitor, over 60 fps with full PhysX. I do not have an average computer, but building my computer is my hobby, tweaking it brings me joy, and playing games I paid less than a console user for at a higher graphical quality makes me superior.
@sirjayjayec To "outperform" a PS4 you would need a quite powerful PC, since a dedicated platfor like a console ALWAYS will run more thing with less ressources. And in that case Only the mother borad and the graphic car would get close to 400€.
Then add the Ram modules, then the Sound card, periferals, hard drive...
So no, dude. If you want a game to look better on PC you can't just aim for the "minimun specs"
And about the "so they don't really have cheapness on there side either." A PS4 will be using the same hardware to run game that will be released in 6-7 years from now, by them a PC would require to go through a certain number of updates.
Don't get me wrong, I love to play in PC (Specially RPG that allow mods) but facts are facts.
Are you only pretending to be dumb? For your information, you can also use a controller with the PC. But certain types of games are most comfortable to play using keyboard/mouse. At least you have a choice on PC, whereas you're stuck with a controller on consoles. Nothing is more frustrating than playing first person shooters using a controller. In such games, the precision offered by the mouse is unparalleled.
