Arma 3 - Launch Trailer
Check out the launch trailer for Arma 3, now available for PC worldwide.
Mount up, soldiers. See you on the battlefield.
Short message to those complaining about missing singleplayer campaign - Play something else until the free singleplayer campaign is added to the game later on, check out some of the community created scenarios or create your own.
I'd rather have the developers continue to improve the core features and engine optimization than wasting time on missions that the community can create themselves with the free, awesome, easy to use tools that come with the game anyways.
I was all ready to really get into ArmA this time, bought the alpha, and not long after I just lost interest. I didn't even know the release date until I happened to see it in an unrelated forum last night. I think I'm just not a big multiplayer person and I'm trying to force myself to be but it's not going to work. I watch those videos of people doing operations with dozens of real people, following a chain of command, and it looks really cool, but I have yet to get into anything even close to that.
What exactly do you do in this game? There's no single player missions. Is it just like an open world map filled with NPCs to kill? Multiplayer?
It's a military sim. Not a shooter.
@hystavito Try use the editor to create your own battle, no mp but still lot of fun.
@themc_7 Like everyone said here, there is a lot of great player made content, editors on arma are able to use scripts and some high end tools that can give you game mods that are both fun and really high quality. The game it self has over 20 different scenarios that you can play for pve content. If you are looking for PVP there a various different modes for that as well. With this game you have the ability to play various different types of game play due to the high amount of player made content and the scenarios that came out with the game. SP1 camping will be released in a month but is not really the main point of arma.
@themc_7 Campaign will be relased as free DLC lateron. As far as i understand they didn't want to hold the release back that long.
And yes, i think you can say the ArmA series shines mainly because of it's multiplayer and it's vast tool kit.
Allthough campaigns, missions and The Armory always provided loads of content for the more single player minded people.
@themc_7 that... plus a survival mode with a lot of player vs each other, custom made missions, mods... etc.
@MigzBR @themc_7 Not really the main point? Why? Because you say so? Lemme guess, it's all about multiplayer right? Bullsh*&, it's supposed to be multi AND single player capable, and has been since Cold War Crisis. Tired of you MP fanboys thinking that online is the only way to play these days. Not everyone enjoys depending on other players to get a decent experience. It's pretty arrogant to assume that, but it doesn't seem to bug you or your mic-enabled homeboys. Good luck with that point o' view.....
