‪Big In Asia Livestream Replay: Tales of Xillia 2‬
‪Jonathan and Randy jump into another JRPG with this extended look at the recently-released (in Japan, anyway) Tales of Xillia 2. Spoiler alert: Jonathan dies a bit.‬

I wonder how Namco conducts its market research in the US, because those people must be a bunch of the most incompetent a-holes with MBA degrees in the entire industry.
No offense of course.
The North American market is STARVED for JRPGs. I'm tired of paying $80-100 for shitty ports of games that should've been released here as well. Xillia is already confirmed for US release in 2013. Also, with Ni No Kuni selling so outrageously well in the US I'm hoping some eyes have been opened to the glory that is the traditional JRPG.
I am a gamer living in Japan and i can actually read Japanese and Korean. So gamespot feel free to give me a job so people don't have to watch several minutes of these guys who clearly have no idea what's going on.
screw bandai namco and the damm japaneses....They dont give a sh1t about us...1 year to release xillia 1...2 years to release xillia 2 is too much ...
Too bad that I never liked the Tales combat because they look like great games. I wish they were actually turn-based, old-school JRPG style. Ah well...
It's unfortunate we have to wait so long for these games...
Someone needs to teach that man how to dodge.
I love the tales games. It kind of annoyed me that they complained about the graphics. The game by no means looks bad. It's part of the art style of the game. it's supposed to kind of have that anime art style. I feel like people judge games based on graphics rather than by how it plays.
This will be fun to play....2 years from now. Looking foward to playing the first one in the coming months at least though.
What happen since Tales of Symphonia ?
It looks that they just didn't understand what made this game so successfull....
This is a ps3 game? Jezus... I've only played Tales of Phantasia, which was incredible in story, graphics and sound (for SNES). This footage is not at all convincing me to try out another Tales game (much like the previous Tales games havent convinced me either). *grumpy-mode
I was really disappointed with Tales of Graces and i gave up on it ...Graces dont't come even close to Tales of Vesperia. ...I hope Xillia will be as good as the Vesperia or better. Iam currently playing Valkyria chronicles and im loving it. :)
One of the main reasons I'll be getting a PS3 is to play the Tales games. Xbox 360 only has Tales of Vesperia (which was amazing), but even the PS3 has a better port of it.
Im just shocked at the level of ignorance these guys have on a series that has been released in the Us since the Snes days! Tales games have commonality like Final fantasy games do 1. YES YOU CAN control any character from the stats screen. 2. Xillia IS NOT the first Tales game coming to the US...wtf guys at least google search this stuff before you make these things....
Damn it guys! I'm easily distracted. I can't stop looking at the annoying mouse pointer in the middle of the screen.
It's funny that the guy clearly has absolutely no idea what he's doing even though he's trying to explain it. He's wailing on an enemy resistant to physical weaponry, all the while doing 0 damage. Very rarely he exposes its weakness using a wind attack and begins to do damage, but at no point does he question why he's doing 0 damage. If he had an elemental weapon (he should at this point) or at least used an elemental arte before every attack he made, he would be doing more than 0. The resistances and weaknesses are clearly shown at the top right when he is targeting which enemy to attack, not even in Japanese, so you really would have to have no idea what you're doing to miss it.
In addition, I'm pretty sure the adds in that fight never stop respawning, so there's no reason to kill them. This is all along with completely wasting overlimit mode, etc, etc. I've played through the game (I own it) and enjoyed it, and at this point in the game, this is all common sense, explained to you in Japanese AND you really should've figured it out by now, ESPECIALLY if you supposedly played the first Xillia (hint: it's mostly the same).
Also, for all the people saying we didn't get the first Xillia: we ARE getting it this year.
You can't even imagine to amount of middlefingers I've shown to Namco Bandai for not bringing Tales of Xillia to EU/US yet.
They can do all the games they want, as long as I have to wait 2 years for them, I don't care.
Middle finger to you -Namco Bandai.
@GameSpotthese names, ludgar, SOLDAT (FF e.g.). Krieg, PANZER (Tank) DRAGOON,
and so on are german names and describtions. japanese developer love german pronunciations.
remember chaos legion ? Sieg Wahrheit ? its victory and truth.
everytime you read a viking like name , its german.
@NightRain Yes, yes it was. I killed it in a previous save after completing the Heliobogue main quest.
@Kasheall If I had no idea what was going on, how is it that I was able to get to where I was on the final part of the livestream? I had multiple saves of each of the six chapters I went through.
Just remember that playing a game on a livestream is almost equivalent to playing a game on-stage; there's a 50% chance of me screwing up and dying a horrible death. :)
@Stardust7 Solution = learn Japanese and import/play all the games you want.
Honestly, it likely costs a fortune to localise games and is potentially not worth the time if the market it small. Bandai Namco are still a company, not looking to sink their money. And the Japanese have nothing to do with it. In fact if you ever met these Japanese devs they are so keen on getting their games known, getting them overseas. I cannot say that any western developer has ever gone out on a limb to localise his game for Japan.
@Raidenwins0 They will, if the first game sells well. So, you know what to do. First game comes this year. :)
@M3o5nster Yeah, I really should. I had that same silly habit in Tales of the Abyss and Vesperia.
@mwest306 I would agree with you, but the problem with ToX 2's aesthetics is that about 90% of the assets are reused. Of course, ToX 2 came out a year after ToX 1 in Japan.
I definitely had no qualms with the combat; it's fun!
@deltaalphagamma So... You've played this game? >.>
@Tak666 You need to relax. They already announced they're bringing it and it will probably be here summer 2013.
@Marsh87 Believe it or not, some of them actually reached adulthood here.
@Master_cheat001 Your eyes... They must be broken.
@mr_toffee It's okay, thanks for showing us the game :)
Yeah I overreacted, still...Tales of Xillia is in Japan for nearly 2 years now, it's gonna come to the EU(where I live), and US outdated and probably with bad english dubbing.
They could just leave the JP voices, translate the text and bring it to us, instead of making us wait so long, giving us a product that is already outdated.
