i think it was around 6-7 hours of gameplay for each campaign they say it on one of these videos but all i know is as a marine your gonna crap yourself alot or just whiteknuckling your controller the whole time haha i was just for the FFA demo
I think as far as each campaign goes, I think the Marines is going to be the hardest to do. I can't wait for it though
i see no video of this game's actual game play - it's all cutscene cinematics. do they have something to hide? why not show us the game play? it tells me nothing about the game to watch a bunch of cinematic cutscenes.
EvilChicken. Watch all the videos i seen some trailer showing a colony not just a inside compound and seen some jungle scenes so i am guessing that its both
I was kind of hoping for like an open level or two, like instead of the clausterphobic maze of tunnels and pipes and air ducts, maybe like a scene outside? Not in the forest but with marines, aliens, and predators fighting in a compound, not only inside but outside too.
this vid makes it look like the marines are the butt end of it all but it looks like you get saved from the predator as there is a split second where he turns round and its a semi cut scene so they wouldn't kill you off so flatly. the pulse rifle looks like it kicks ass, though there's no blue muzzle flash and the aliens are so fast you have to lead your target! the torchlight is a nice mechanic for making things more scary. nice work rebellion. sega's also working on colonial marines which is like may 2010 i think
@Buffalo2867 Well marines get their power from numbers and there will be alot of marines so its safe to say theres gonna be a bloodbath of marine deaths.
@ eynonz and ChrisGamer5757 - I own Alien and Aliens and I've seen them probably a dozen times each. Just because a game is trying to be true to a franchise mythos doesn't mean they can't tune sound effects.
Marines are cool to play aliens sucked and predator was ok....clip is terrible just shows morons being gibbed...gief Hudson and pulse rifle rampage!
Yeah that's stupid. Why make a trailer about them and have about 75% of it show the Marines getting killed off. Isnt the point of the species specific trailers to get you pumped about your particular favorite?
@Jimmecata You obviously never watched any of the movies then because that's exactly what the Marines guns sounded like. Dead on to almost every detail actually.
@cabbage100 Aliens: colonial marine i CANNOT wait for!! :P And I think a game just about Predator's would be pretty interesting, like a survival/horror/action FPS. I just hope Aliens: Colonial Marine will bring out all the Co-op fun splendour, on equal terms as say Left 4 Dead has ;) As for Alien vs Predator - so let it be, no co-op campaign, Let the onslaught deatchmatches begin. My favourite mode was where there is, say 9 marines and 1 alien and its about survival. Each fallen, an alien comes back. That was very competitive!
MajinBuu you've hit it spot on! The Marine campaign in AVP 2 was absolutely phenomenal, action-packed, and most importantly, bone-chillingly horrificly frighteningly scary! Gosh I was tense through that whole campaign just waiting for the freaking Aliens to come jumping out from the walls o_O And if they do have co-op...HECK YES! Imagine this with a couple buddies on the 360 or PS3...light's out...surround sound, big ole' plasma TV...Marine campaign...FRICK THAT SOUNDS EPIC!
@thunderx18 lol Nerdy girlfriend FTW! :D I think for a quintessential colonial marine experiance you might wanna check out Aliens: Colonial Marine. I think I heard that was gonna have 4 player co-op, so here's hoping :D also, wouldn't a predator game be awesome? with you flying around the galaxy, hunting lots of dangerous animals, I'd like that :D
i just WISH they made it Co-op campaign. what better way to share the absolute horror-fun with a friend or nerdy girlfriend?
dude avp2, especially the marine campaign, is up there as one of my all time favorites. I really hope they add all the little things that made the movies so cool like they did in avp2. Synthetics, queen aliens, predaliens, chest bursters, drop ships, smart guns, motion sensors, welding torches, it has to be all there!!!!!
As long as they stick to what made the other AVP games great (mostly the second one) then this should be a very good game. Hell if the games were good ten years ago then they should be able to make them even better now. In AVP 2 The marine campain was as good as the others if not better. AVP 2 is still one of my all time favorite games, and ive been waiting a long time for this game. Man I hope ther get it right.
@ ladeesman this game was always incomplete without the humans... marines in this case... best arsenal of guns a player can have compared to the other classes.. u can kick ass with a marine if u knw how to handle it :D well ... they are the prey in the game... but doesnt make em weak tho :D
@ p_lankreijer ... dude it scared the hell outta me too.. i shifted to the predator campaign to relax a bit :P.. the best moments were when the classic motion tracker shows stuff approaching towards you :O hope this one is just like the older games in the series
mmmmmmmm I wonder, its this gonna be a hit? or just fail as the original one after release? A like AVP but, I wonder....
I've never completed the singple player Marine campaign in the original AvP. Just scared the crap out me. :)
beanofengland Posted Sep 28, 2009 3:06 pm ET "... a marine couldn't kick an alien off... that should have been game over right there.." Hey, if Vazquez can pin an Alien's head with her foot in CQ, then we gotta believe that a male soldier can kick one off!
as a marine you can end up surviving everything, shoot accurately and quickly and the aliens are dealt with just about, watch your back and front for predators and they should find it hard to get you without getting injured, thing is reloading is your possible death.
This game is going to be the best for the month of Feb. Dont get me wrong AVP is a cool game but the marines should be taken out.
a marine couldn't kick an alien off... that should have been game over right there, oh well, been too long since the last avp game on pc. Hope it lives up to previous game, rebellion will do a good job as always
@DeepDarkness I'm tired of having to constantly repeat myself, but the AVP game is not based on the AVP movies. In fact, well before the avp movie, the AVP franchise has been very indepth - the movies ruined that. However, there already exists 2 AVP games, both highly rated. This company behind this one made the first. They were both amazing. This is NOT a movie-game.
Can't WAIT for it!!!!!! I hope SEGA doesn't ruin it! but hey, The less companies it takes to make a game, the better...
