In this exclusive insider video Creative Assembly shows that when you're hiding in the dark, what you can hear might just be the key to your survival.
Did you enjoy this video?
If it has that Dead Space scarey feeling them I'm in.
Sounds bloody terrifying....
hope they don't screw up like in the last one
I hope their effort will pay off.
My confidence in CA to make a half decent game these days is zero.
This game really does look and sound great, but I just hope it isn't a Slender Man-esque game within the Alien universe. I don't want to simply look around for information or pick-ups, while trying to stay away from an ever present antagonist. I'm hoping I can eventually defend myself, and its gameplay becomes more dynamic as the game progresses.
It looks good but still I think that the Dead Space has the best sound that really feels you of survival and horror. I still remember when listening audio tapes or watching videos of sacred people in alone dark space ship really really hunt you and even some voices of something drops really make you feel you are in survival world.
Since this isnt an American company i have faith in this. No disrespect to Americans. But the people who make horror games and movies in America seem to always want to make Horror cheesy and lame. I dont know what it is. Theres certainly enough terrifying stuff that happens in America to have GOOD horror writing. But they always choose to write stupid horror movies and games. Yet have fantastic horror writers like Steven King they could be drawing from.
Maybe the wrong people are writing horror movies and games in America or something. But they don't seem to get it.
Psycho was interesting, but that scene where the killer was his mother was kind of silly and not really terrifying at all and Poltergeist, holy FCKING sht thats in like top 6 best horror movies of all time on some websites and its one of the stupidist pathetic horror movies ive ever seen.
So this isnt from an American company so i have faith. Again no disrespect , but i think Americans COULD write much better horror movies and games than they produce. They certainly have enough horrific sht that goes on in their country to be able to.
cool, love Creative Assembly. Yes they fcked up with Rome TW2, but everything else theyve made (After 6 months of patches lol) has been pure quality.
Still not sure, but may get this, it looks pretty good, but we will see
A soundtrack consisting solely of dark ambient and/or very droning ambient music would have been much more fitting for this. Sorry, but a piano and orchestra completely takes me out of the experience with games like these.
Not only that, but it's also been done to death. So much that an orchestra feels "nice" and familiar at this point... And that's not scary.
the last alien game ACM when they where advertising it they said it had all new lighting effect never be for seen in any video game and we all no what happened to that. So lets hope this is not the same false advertising.
I just got a bit scared then.....:) Good...
Definitely has to be made with the aspect of the VR tech coming soon. I want to experience VR like this to test out my heart condition.
I bet this will be super linear and shortasfuck.
Remember people this will not be a game full of action every second. It will be a scary slow paced game with some moments where I expect where you have to run for your life and shoot at the enemy possibly. In regards to the audio I am definitely liking it thus far. Definitely a game to play in the dark, in 3D and VR?
*still watching and waiting skepticly*
Just the segments shown here freak me the eff out. That first glimpse
of the Alien, in shadow, you can just see the shape of the head and the
bloody teeth, I felt like a flippin' five year old.
Im terrified just watching the video...
I hope they keep the classic feel as much as possible. I love the old tech sounds with lots of beeps and static effects in contrast with all the metal squeaking and objects falling down and tumbling over. Great atmosphere.
Gee, another Alien game made by Sega, I wonder how it is going to turn out? If only we had a history of them making Alien games to base our expectations on. lol
I dont see anything about this that would hint at it being of low quality, it looks good, sounds good, and actually makes you feel engaged with emotion.
holy shit! want this so bad!
oh my, that was sublime. This is the one game im most excited for this year. i know 'shadow of mordor' is out on the same day, and im sure it will be great, but this game reeks QUALITY on every level. shaping up to be DTS surround heaven.
the best part is where u heard the sound, havent seen any gameplay and PREORDER NOW! oh, this is so cool. take my money now. f*ck it!... like an old school alien movie fan i wish they will not f*ck up the game this time like it was with the last one, but im 95% sure that as much as they squeeze sega is not the company for that kind of job, they should go back to theyr sonic the hedgehog saga and hand over the job to crytec or ubisoft.
Great promo showing how awesome the sound and look of the game will be. However, gameplay is why we play a game and its very difficult from these promos to tell if it will be fun or not. If done right isolationist games can be very engaging, but we'll wait to see what happens when it comes out.
I know a lot of people are skeptical about this game due to the fact how Gearbox fucked up with Colonial Marines which I don't blame. Gearbox gave off a lot of promise for it(especially to the Alien fans) and overall shipped a shitty product. Even after the 10 gigs of patching and DLC they decided to just drop it and refuse further support which is why I don't like them anymore.
After it's reveal back in January, i'm happy to see that Isolation is turning up to be a interesting game. The fact it's inspired by the first film and that SEGA has been keeping a close eye on it pretty much shows in the behind the scenes material i've been watching the past couple months. This is Creative Assembly's first foray into a different type of game so it could be cool.
It may be fun to slaughter endless hordes of aliens but seeing something like this is a change of pace which is why i'm willing to give it the benefit of the doubt.
I can't imagine what it would be like with an Oculus Rift!
I will wear Grandpa Diapers while I am playing this game just in case I get some leakage when I am playing this at night with 7.1 surround sound and the Oculus Rift.
I don't know why, but I've been specifically interested in seeing something about the sound design in this game and its impact on gameplay. Looks like they're really making some smart decisions here. Can't wait.
YES PLZ :P
at the end of the day, when the game comes out, it will be all about shooting and running. Just like any other mediocre game.
shoot aliens, recover health, look for ammo (repeat till the game is finished).
These kind of videos full of lies are getting very old. they are just meant to hype toddlers.
And as much as i love alien saga, since the beginning from the NES era, Alien games are condemned to be crap. I doubt this will be the exception, specially coming from SEGA (as much as i love and miss sega).
@Samslayer exactly that is fun at first but just like with Outlast gets boring. Would be nice to get a flamethrower to at least create space and get out of situations
@nyran125tk What about the Excorscist or Halloween or Jaws or The Conjuring or Insidious or The Birds or the Shining or the ring or Dawn of the dead or Alien or the Fly or Rosemary's Baby or the movie "Bug" or Silence of the Lambs or Saw (first one only) or Nightmare on Elm Street? Yeah, I guess there aren't any good American horror movies
@nyran125tk Watch 'Misery'. That is all.
@nyran125tk i think its very ignorant to outright say that all american's make poor horror. george romero's dead series specifically 'night' of the living dead is one of the best horrors of all time (though its age really shows now, being from the 60's and all), and what about the original amityville horror, evil dead, halloween, nightmare on elm street, silence of the lambs, texas chainsaw massacre etc etc. if i could be bothered i would find more specific examples but all of these are solid american horror movies we'v been given.
@001011000101101 Too early to say. Everything is contextual so only when you play the game, will you realise if the audio score is effective or not.
That is of course, when you're not trying desperately to avoid the creature itself. ;)
@001011000101101 Agree'd completely, I would have rather heard more synths, but we will see how it blends with the game
@devilzzz1983 no guns, this is like Outlast, Outlast was fenomenal in horror gaming series, so they gonna start doing more of these game.
@tenakakhan relax chief
I love that atmosphere as well.
I am very interested in this game. I just got some great studio monitors that will pump out some nice sound. Its like Headphones for the entire room.
@alexbartle Dont get you expectations up too high
@wyattwoolley So... Where's the 'no pun intended'?
I will NEVER forgive or forget what Gearbox did to us by LYING about Aliens: Colonial Marines.
Duke Nukem Forever was shit, but it was 3d Realm's fault.
But Aliens was ALL Randy Pitchford and his stupid face's fault!
I don't care if Gearbox releases Borderlands 3, 4, 5 or whatever, I will NOT be picking that shitty game up!
@eze_sl89 Hmmm dw guys he's pmsing
"it will be all about shooting and running. Just like any other mediocre game.
shoot aliens, recover health, look for ammo (repeat till the game is finished)."
There's only one alien in the game, and I doubt there'll be a lot of shooting in it at all. It'll most likely just be the player character and the scanner most of the time. I don't see what the point of a gun would be anyways since they have the alien chasing you throughout, and I just don't see what the purpose would be other than to slow it down, so it'd be extremely limited. I feel like you're looking at it at an extreme, and unrealistic way.
@eze_sl89 You are aware its already been confirmed that while you can use guns, they can't kill the Alien, right?
@xan114 @nyran125tk Even Stephen Kings IT, is filled with cheap 1 liners and comical relief. A horror you should be like really fearful for the main characters and i dont feel that (Accept for the first Silence Of The Lambs) The Shining, was more entertaining than feelign scared for the main characters. Because the acting was a bit over the top. Kubrick had heaps of issues with Nicholson's acting in that that movie. But it was very entertaining. Again more 1 liners and comic relief in that movie to.
@johnnycontardo Good for you ... good for you. Now breath and step outside.
@DamnILoveGames @eze_sl89 who said anything about killing my dear? read again.
@Walkerdowntown @nyran125tk im not dreaming though am i? American horror films are generally either cheesy (poltergiest was horrid, i cant believe that is in top 10 horror movie lists) , a gore fest or filled with 1 liners. Even the Shining.
"FRESH MEAT, HOW SWEET" bullsht (thats a cheap 1 liner, used in Nightmare in Elm Street). "Or all work and no play makes jack a dull boy" thats still for comical relief though isnt it? Which im not against by the way. i highly doubt someone going nuts in reality would write that. They would most likely write inner monolgoues to do with hate or hatred for their wives or somethign extremely disturbing, like how the nations currency is the reason his wife needs to get her head chopped the fck off" I can pretty much gurarentee thats not what jeffrey Dahmer or a real SCARY person in real life would say lol
@nyran125tk If you don't at least appreciate the Shining then there's a lot you missed. Watch the movie Room 237 and you'll see
defend a game when it hasnt even come out yet. Dont be a fanboy, it
makes you look stupid."
And yet, here you are bashing a game that hasn´t
even come out yet...
@eze_sl89 damn you have some poor reading comprehension skills.
@eze_sl89 What the hell gave you the idea I said you said that? That was ME saying that, notice how there are no bloody quotations.
You said 'These kind of videos full of lies are getting very old. they are just meant to hype toddlers' and as such I responded to that.
@DamnILoveGames @eze_sl89 Wow dude you really like to add words i didnt even say !
"You don't know it's fake, and saying what'll probably be a 15-18 rated game"
When did i said that ?? You sure have a lot of imagination, or you are just an idiot.
@eze_sl89 Where was I being a fanboy? In no way am I personally defending the game, I just stated that most games are repetitive and that guns can't kill the Alien, both of which are factually true at this point.
It's fine if you have low expectations, but much like I can't say it'll definitely be good, you can't say it will be definitively bad due to false advertising when it isn't even out yet. You don't know it's fake, and saying what'll probably be a 15-18 rated game is to 'hype toddlers' is even more immature.
@DamnILoveGames @eze_sl89 Dont defend a game when it hasnt even come out yet. Dont be a fanboy, it makes you look stupid.
I can say i have low expectations from a SEga game and a Alien game, becaouse of the evidence of past releases (yeah AVP was an OK game) but every other alien game that came out was a pile of crap. Why would i expect more for a game like this now?
I hope this game could be half as good as the video trailers promise. I love alien movies, but based on facts, its very unlikely.
Even a great orchesta to perform the soundtrack isnt enough on a game. To make a good game it has to feature great gameplay which is the 90% of a game. And i doubt this will be the case. Sadly.
@eze_sl89 Most games are repetitive when you get down to it, why is this one so cripplingly different?
