I'm really digging the moving raft and the environmental transitions here! The VR5 cast get to bring some pain to the D.O.A crew!
In my opinion, DOA has the best fighting system with its grapple, dodge, the best counter system ever and the most smooth animations (DOA is the only game where women's moves looks really feminine). I like VF's graphics, it looks purely fantastic, but animations are too robotic and bodies interactions are not satisfyingly done, that's why I love the idea to bring here other franchises and I hope not only VF. DOA5 looks incredible but it has some things that I hope will be tweaked on the release version, like too long slow motion on falling on the ground after a strong hit (which is not required on a fast action game like DOA is) - although I really love the new slow motion on combos; and I think those smoke/watery effects from hits are a little too Tekken style and could be used only on strong hits, if not completely disabled (DOA4 send a real battle feeling with no such effects). I hope battles will took longer than this movies, as well, and the new system with pushing on the edge looks kind of too repetitive and unreal because is not interacting with whats actually happening in game. But, like DOA 4 was (and still is) a perfect game, I'm assured that DOA 5 will be as well.
So I take it under new management DOA is going for a more realistic look than the anime inspired versions past.
Akira in DOA5. My favorite character of my beloved VF5 is in the sequel of my all time favorite 3D fighting game. Now,that's some really good news.
You know I've notice that dead or alive is called ”dead or alive” but so far I didn't see anyone die yet and not come back alive... Hhhhmm.. Just saying but hey look its Akira or what ever his name wanna be ryu from virtual fighter.. Looks like another cross over in the making
eh, another fighting game. I don't think this is different enough then the tons of other fighter games out to even bother with. I played DOA4 for a few hrs and never touched it again, think i'll skip this one all together
Wow, some of Kasumi's air combos were awesome looking, very ninja-like! It's about time she had more of these kinds of moves. Kinda wish we coulda seen more Ayane as well, but Akira looks crazy. I'm not really a big VF fan myself, but I was impressed. Didn't have great expectations, but this definitely has me excited.
It's about time we're getting DoA5, and it's looking damned EPIC. \m/ \m/ I'm loving what TN is doing with it. The game engine is looking very slick. It's interesting they're including Akira from VF. I haven't played that series since the mid '90s. lol
I wonder if he's going to replace Gen-Fu. Looks like he has a lot of similar moves. I hope not. Gen-Fu is my favorite character.
Let's hope so!
