Used to play this when I had Windows XP, but my system was so sh** the game wouldn't work properly. Now I've got an updated system, and FINALLY got it working on Windows 7, I can't wait to experience this game how it was meant to.
I don't think you are playing the same game as I did. Got bored in 10 minutes, patiently grinding for another hour, hoping it gets better. But God, I sucks bad! The reviewer must be stoned - garrisoning building is old as Red Alert, bombing and combat are awful, the AI is appauling. The cutscenes are longer then the mission itself, and the wole game drips so much of "proud to be american" it makes you sick.
@yeah_28: Thanks the info. Actually I already bought it a few months ago and loving it. Even so, I appreciate your reply.
@Renoo27 The gameplay is different, but im not sure how much different to your taste, in aow there's no squads of infantry, they dont take cover or get supressed, instead of taking points like in warhammer 40k you just make money out of oil rigs, its classic base building war rts, like c&c generals, they're very close to each other in gameplay terms This is one of my if not my favourite rts ever, i like military games and old school rts, and this is that perfect mix of both. Watch out though, it has serious problems running in win 64 bit 7 and vista. it can work but its not sure it will..
Hmmm. I wander why I haven't heard of this game yet. I might get it, only the gameplay looks very similar to Company of Heroes. If this is the case, I won't be getting it. Can someone who owns both games tell me if the gameplay is different between the two?
Not really my cup of tea. Practically any RTS without 4x gameplay (a la Sins) is unappealing to me. If I want skirmishes, I'll take on the RTT genre or play a hybrid RTS/RPG (DOTA-style game) instead.
I don't... I played the single player for 4-5 hours and found it to be dull and slow paced. Video cutscenes are not a novelty nowadays, just look into C&C. Might have been fun in 2005, but it sure isn't now..
