i find it unnerving that a video about a game where a teenage girl tags along with an old grizzled bastard in the apocalypse has a title referencing a clockwork orange. to me thats insinuating an ENTIRELY DIFFERENT relationship between the characters then i think naughty dog has planned. i know the game is supposed to be gritty and dark, but not "ultraviolence" dark...
What the fuck is this, i expected a video of the game not a video of two guys with no actual relation to the game talking about the game i wanted to see.
It looks so good! I must have it. I know it's for PS3, but I wonder if it would also be made for PC? I pray and hope.
It's about time games started showing what violence really is. It's dirty it's scary and it's brutal. This and Max Payne 3 are really showing how disgusting violence can be and not cutting corners with it. You actually cringe when you see guys getting shot in the face and feel bad for them. Not like Nathan Drake who merrily snapped necks and gunned guys down non stop like a mass murderer but no one thought of the horror of killing someone. Now you almost don't want to kill them but just walk by without getting noticed because killing them is nasty. About time Naughty Dog made a mature game
Had to turn the volume up all the way just to hear the guys and then got my ears exploded by the closing animation.
That aside, I completely agree that this game looks amazing. But, the question remains, is it scripted to the point of just being basically a rail shooter? If it's not just cinematics, then I'm blown away.
The last of us is so brutal but is it going to far with enemies begging for their lives as you gun them down?
Yes I am very excited about this game. Has its own flavor and looks amazing. Day 1 buy for me already.
What I liked was that the enemy voices were spot on with the cues (like the empty gun clicking). How much of it is a testament of the game's AI depends on when the game is released.
I do not think there is anything wrong with the 360. I am not trying to rile anybody up and start another flame war, but the PS3 exclusives far and away blow the hell out of anything Microsoft has. Sony's exclusives are innovative, interesting, and seem to have a lot of thought behind them.This game should prove that. MS just seems to have the typical shooter that people will sheepishly buy. I do of course prefer the PS3, but I would be very happy with a 360 instead.
Oh. My. God. The Last of Us looked nothing short of incredible. The graphics, the animation, the gameplay, the characters--it was all so...perfect. It's scarier than Resident Evil or Dead Space. It features all of the enticing ideas that were ruined in Ubsioft's I Am Alive, yet takes them even further. It features all of the polish of Uncharted 2.
Quite frankly, The Last of Us is the best looking game I have ever seen. It soars above even the mighty Uncharted 2: Among Thieves to deliver a knockout experience that I am frothing at the mouth to play. This is what gaming is all about.
@Salticid PS3 Exclusive.
@seanmcloughlin i like how the girl has a little freakout when he kills the guy via molotov. its little details like her accusatory tone that i think will make this game memorable.
(see comment below)
@Killthesheep I would say no. What we're seeing here is where "survival horror" titles needed to go years ago. Where there is real brutality and real survival. I think this is all shocking because it is coming from the house that Crash and Jak built but it is really something to behold. I think everything that was seen really drives home the point that you are just trying to survive day to day and that you can't trust anyone to the point that simply letting them live might doom you seconds or minutes later.
@Killthesheep No. Personally I'd like it if you were able to shove your gun through an enemies eye socket and pull the trigger. I'd also like to see some intense struggles, like the stabbing in Saving Private Ryan.
Well, I just watched the Halo 4 demo and it looked pretty good. Looked a little bit like Resistance only better.
@PayneKiller You know what, we need a Clockwork Orange game.
@InSayNine thats because she is voiced by Tracey Gold. the actress who played Carol Anne Seaver in Growing Pains
@s_h_a_d_o Oh come on, any reference to something so awesome is better to have than none at all!And it was certainly ultraviolence...
@Foppe no we absolutely don't... let's not ruin a beautiful thing
@kidnamedkain777 Actually she's voiced by Ashley Johnson... did you just pick a random celebrity? Couldn't really be more wrong...
Also, she sounds about right, I think people in here have just lost their grasp on how old teenagers can sound.
@BLKCrystilMage well done
@CommonFable Indeed, droogy. But the tale of Alex hath a malenky bit too much ultraviolence for the bratchnies at the ESRB to find horrorshow. Tolchocking millicents be but a gloopy imitation of GTA without giving devotchkas with real horrorshow groodies the old in-out-in-out.
Dost thou slooshy what I am govoreeting, o my brothers?
@hoossy1 that would be baddiwad.
@Spire8989 my bad its chrissy seaver not carol
