  • RFG Nominated for 3 Inside Gaming Awards! (Vote!)
This year is the first ever for the Inside Gaming Awards, created by the staff from Machinima.com. Created out of Machinima.com?s flagship show Inside Gaming, the Inside Gaming Awards will unveil the winners of 2009's standout game titles across 18 categories at the Red Bull North American headquarters in Santa Monica, California on December 11th. Each game has been selected by the collective Machinima.com staff. RFG managed to pick up nominations for 3 of the 18 categories: Best Control Best Game Innovation - Geo-Mod 2.0 Engine Best Weapon - Nano Rifle You can show your support for RFG by clicking on any of the links above, which will take you to the official YouTube video voting pages. Each video will display the 5 individual nominees, at which time you will have the opportunity to vote for your choice in each category. If you would like to view all of the nominees for each of the 18 categories, you can click here. I know I'll be crossing my fingers in the hopes that RFG can win our three categories, and all of you can make it happen with your support and mouse clicking abilities. • Win the Multiplayer Pack DLC for 360 (UK)
Quick questionnaire: Do you like Red Faction Guerrilla? Do you like Multiplayer? Do you like free stuff? If you answered yes to at least one of those, then THQ might provide a way of making your future a bit brighter, as long as you live in the UK. Over on THQ's UK website, they're giving away 5 free downloads for our 2nd DLC pack (for Xbox 360), which contains 2 new modes and 8 new maps for RFG's competitive multiplayer. In order to be eligible for this contest, it's ridiculously simple. All you need to do is head to this page, login with your MyTHQ account (or create one) and answer one very easy question. As long as you answer the question correctly before December 3rd, you will be entered for a chance to win. Good luck to all that e... Read More »
  • RFG in Japan!
I've always been amazed by the differences surrounding a video game launch in Japan, with that of what I commonly see stateside. From my experiences, most game stores here showcase a poster or two, sometimes a cardboard standee, and a bunch of game boxes lined up in order to show off a brand new game. Take a trip across the Pacific Ocean to Japan, and you'll likely see a lot more eye candy, as shown below from back during the original launch. Each of these displays featured a video screen to showcase RFG and gameplay, along with multiple versions of signage including some of our special propaganda posters. My hat goes off to the intrepid employees that set these up since there's an obvious amount of work and care put into them. The PC version will be launching in Japan in the very near future, so for our Japanese community members, be on the lookout for similar displays. Co... Read More »
  • Idle Thumbs: Space A-hole
The folks over at Idle Thumbs are quite a talented group. Each week they get together and create a very informative and entertaining podcast, which I've been listening to for a while. They even covered RFG in a previous podcast at the beginning of the month where they labeled Alec with the title above. This time though, they decided to move in a different direction. Instead of continuing to run around and enjoy themselves by destroying buildings and running at civilians with the hammer for a few weeks, they decided to add to their growing collection of songs, which you can listen to and watch below. If you want to download the MP3, you can do-so right here. Make sure you stick around towards the end of the video as well. A big thanks from all of us go out to Chris Remo, Nick Breckon, and Jake Rodkin, the staff at Idle Thumbs, for putting this song together. Remember, Alec Mason doesn't have to take this path through Mars, but it sure is more fun. Co... Read More »
  • RFG DLC Contest @ Sarcastic Gamer
Haven't picked up any of the DLC yet for Xbox 360? Well then Sarcastic Gamer (plus a gift from RFG's Technical Art Director, Jeff Hanna) has got you covered. Their contest is fairly simple and if you win, you will get a set of codes for all three of RFG's DLC packs! There is one caveat though... They want you to smash something. If you're still with Sarcastic Gamer on the above notion and want to enter the contest, head over to their official page by clicking here. Good luck to all that enter and be sure to read the rules before going to town, since you can't just go around smashing the closest object within arm's r... Read More »

Sheng Long was supposingly their Master(Ryu & Ken's master). Remember that old rumor that you can pick him if you beat the game with all perfects and then get a double KO twice in a row on M.Bison? ROFLMAO. It was hilarious how many idiots tried to accomplish it.

In SF2 Ryu's comment when he wins was: "You must defeat Sheng Long to stand a chance". Who the hell is Sheng Long???? I always thought it was Akuma.... then later on in SF3 and now in SF4 there's Gouken... is he Sheng Long??? But Sheng Long is also the name of the dragon in Dragon Ball Z who grants u wishes... LOL
    Can anyone answer my question???

What's the name of that song? It sounds like something that would be used in a montage from an 80's Van Damme movie.

A post below noted the song in the SF HD clips are from Rocky IV. Hmmm, that may or may not be correct. The song here, "You're the Best", was made famous as the theme for Karate Kid (recall the big tournament towards the end of the film). I believe the earlier post may be confusing "You're the Best" with "Eye of the Tiger", the latter of which was originally composed for Rocky III, then used iconically as the Rocky theme.

Old school Mega man graphix, and music is the s#~*! I'm glad they went back to the oldschool design of Mega man for the final one before X. I think that moving Megaman 7 to the super nes was a mistake, and moving Megaman 8 to the Sony Playstation was an even bigger mistake.
