    It's like post apocalyptic, gun blazing, gory, turn-based if you want to, sexy, perfect Elder Scrolls: Oblivion.

    I'm just going to lose myself in the amazingness of this game.

    The gore is in line with the original Fallout games, which tended to be over the top in that department. Skin melting off, arms shot off, etc. So, no problems there.

    The music in Fallout, at least in the introduction, was also ironic... but it was music popular in the 1950's, not the 1860's. The music used during the actual gameplay was largely ambient. Big time disappointment there. I hope this music is only a placeholder or for the trailers.

    As far as weapons went, that's not an area where Fallout went very over the top. The plasma rifle and minigun were the oddest guns you could get outside of special encounters. The mini-nuke launcher seems just plain silly.

    Ah that's cool - so depending on which way you want to play it, you can choose (clever of them - they can target both fps and rpg audiences ). Why are people complaining about the gore? Come on - its bloody fantastic. But I have to agree on the music - it might be ironic, but hearing it is like scratching nails on the blackboard - what it needs is something along the lines of painkiller.

    @hinkwokching

    The gore is over the top because the person playing the demo picked the "Bloody Mess" perk in character creation in which there is a much higher probability of seeing the most ridiculous way a character can be killed. It does not have to be this messy.

    @ everyone

    The shooting can be either RPGish or FPSish depending on your preference. The Vats system freezes time for the RPG feel and if you want FPS just don't use it.

    Both the Bloody Mess perk and the targeting system are directly from earlier games to keep the original feel of the game. However Bethesda appears to expanded the game play as well.

    Fallout 3 is an RPG, so...I think, just maybe, the shooting will be more like...an RPG...maybe.

    freezing time, comically large explosions, ugly guns...Resistance 2 is what I'll be playing.

    Hmm, I am a little worried about the over-the-top gore and decapitation... Not that it's too much for me, but seems way too over-the-top. As an example, a shotgun cannot obliterate a human size target into several pieces. But the game looks otherwise fun. I agree with whocares9 as well.

    Hopefully the shooter aspects are more like a shooter and less like an rpg. Skill>exp
