Vectorman 2 is a solid sequel to the original that brings some new things in, but keeps all the original charm.

User Rating: 6.5 | Vectorman 2 GEN
Vectorman 2 was released one year after the original game for the Sega Genesis. The game once again follows Vectorman on an adventure to save the world.
This time around, Vectorman was cruising in space when a missile hits his barge and he escapes back to Earth. It just so happens that the planet is take over by insects and Vectorman, once again, comes to the conclusion that he should save the world.
Vectorman is controlled the same way as the original, with the A and B buttons for shooting, and the C button for jumping and double jumping. This time around, Vectorman doesn't transform into a mechanical form (save for the last two stages); he takes on a trait of certain creatures in the world, such as the Scorpion Tail ability, which he can use to whip enemies and walk on liquid hot magma, and the Rhino Charge, which allows Vectorman to run into enemies to defeat them.
None of the previous game's weapons return, but there are new ones. Most of the weapons are laser based, instead of 'ball' based. There is a laser that bounces off the walls and one that shoots in bursts.
Overall, Vectorman 2 is a decent sequel that is nothing more than a brushed up version of the original
