Alright, if you liked the Shining Force series, you'll really love this game. The only downside is the fact that you cannot really do any exploring in Vandal Hearts. The game is really laid out for you. You're taken from battle to town - to battle. But if you are playing for the strategy, then you're really in for a treat. This game features a 3-D battlefield (very good eye candy), a plethora of playable characters, and even more weapons, equipment, and items. Tactics MUST be used when fighting through the vastly different battle fields and classing up your characters. When you hit a certain level, you can actually choose which path each character takes. For example, when your archer hits a certain level, you are given the choice of either proceeding down the path of Sniper, or taking a turn and trying out the Skyhawk. It's VERY important to choose various paths for different characters or you WILL run into certain battle that will just kick u in the crotch. Many people like to send all of their melee characters down the final path of the dragoon which will result in some serious kick-butt characters, but inevitably weak vs. any type of magic user. Final thought, be diverse and try different character combinations. Play the game over and over!!
