Final Fantasy Tactics?? Many people talked about this game, it was pratically FF with strategic play. It was indeed a spin-off in FF legacy, however some people loved it and some people dislike it. Why?
It isn't FF by no means in play. It is a totally different game which required patience and brain as most of strategy games do. FFT left the mark as an outstanding title but before this game broke the shelves Konami, without noise, had already pioneered the way for it with Vandal Hearts indeed.
Infact VH was the first for PSX in its particular game genre. It had many new features those put it apart. Many players avoided it waiting for Castlevania and Metal Gear Solid sheduled by Konami instead. These people missed a very good game, addictive as none the first time you play it, rewarding, funny, and with a good challenge.
In this game, above all known for its majestic and incredible story, you lead Defense commander in Ishtaria land Ash Lambert who, with his friends, will be involved in a breathtaking mission and its unpredictable development and epilogue.
Ash & company have different approach to fight. Infact you'll join Swordmen, Archers, Guardmen, Mages, Monches all of them with different qualities respectively. Proceeding in its mission Ash & company will get experience points that finally will make them level up. After different level ups earned you have the chance to drive your fighting way with a few allowed possibilities: Swordmen become Knights, Archers become Snipers, Monches become Ninjas and so on. No doubt, this is the main and most powerful feature this game incorporates.
This game has many qualities (incredible story, playabilty, etc.), however it is not a perfect game by no means because, at first, level layout is absolutely linear, you cannot take different missions and the game is not really long.
Told it, it is undiscovered jewel and deserves you attention if you are looking for something of different and addictive until you finish it.
