Xbox, not as good as the PS2 version. Just didnt play right.
Gameplay: 7/10
Van Helsings gameplay isnt nearly as bad as it may sound in the GS reveiw, its actually pretty good. An excellent arsenal of weapons and items are spread throughout the game. The only bad thing here is the lack of both story and levels. To bad considering this may have been the first truely great "movie-game."
Graphics: 5/10
Considering what i've seen on movie based games, graphics are normally the strong point, lacking in both gameplay and story. This was kinda opposite, good Gameplay, bads graphics. The characters are often jagged and blocky, wrecking the overall experience.
Sound: 6/10
The actors voices were re-used, but it seemed asthough it was taken directly from the movie rather then re-recorced for the game, and that alone can wreck it.
Overall: 7/10 (7.0/10)
Games that are based on movies are often considered instant failures, but can often be great rentals. This is an example of that. Van Helsing fans, RENT THIS GAME NOW!!!
