It's definitely not RPG. I don't know why "Role-Playing" is "Genre" here. It's an action-adventure game as the developers said. I say it's more like "tap to shoot" game in different gothic environments with a short but intriguing storyline and indescribable charisma. Anyway, VO had several flaws in the day of the release. But after couple of patches and bonuses, including new levels and storylines, VO became one of the strongest iPhone / iPad exclusives, IMHO. The game is very short though. 2-3 hours on main story, 2 more, maybe 3 on all bonus levels. But, hey, it's $5 only ($3 for iPhone version). We are ready to spend $10 and more on DLC to the "big games" like Mass Effect or Sims, to download 30-40 minutes of old adventures or some stupid hat, and it's an all new game here (not some RE4 remake or a 101 variation of tower defense) for $5. Surely it's not perfect. But games like VO will build a road to the "big games" on iPhone, with their own stories and gameplay. I'm looking forward to new versions and updates, and to sequel, of course.
9.0 / 10, but it's really needed more polishing. It's only because there are no really strong titles on iPhone (in an "interactive-action-stories" way) and I'm willing to meet games like VO with open arms, just for their hidden potential. Maybe the next chapter will be a real hit.
