Before there was a Warrior Princess Xena, there was Princess Lena, of Super Valis IV!

Growing up during the glory days and height of the popularity of the Super NES, while there were a lot of games that I managed to play for the 16 bit powerhouse, there have still been some games that even now, have managed to elude me. Thankfully, that's starting to change thanks to the innovation that is the Nintendo Switch, and it's Super NES Online Service, it's brought back a good number of games that are either rare, or haven't seen a release in the USA until just now! While this is a rare, and rather unique video game, it is still a pretty good one! This game actually takes some cues from Japanese Anime, as it features some pretty impressive (especially by 1993 standards) Anime Cut-scenes, that are integrated into the story! Playing as Lena, your job is to race through the stages, and beat every boss at the end of it! However, this isn't one of those games were you can take your time and explore everywhere; because during each stage, the boss actually GATHERS power and strength! You take too long to get through a stage, and a boss may become too powerful to fight! So, saving and conserving your strength, and trying to use your time wisely, in both getting through each stage and avoiding fighting the various creatures that come your way, is essential in making the game play as smooth and easy as possible. While there are weapon items you can collect to use against your enemies and bosses, implementing them could've been made a little easier, as you have to press L or R to select the weapon you want to use, X to confirm it (be careful not to press it more than once, or you'll end up accidentally getting rid of all the weapons you've collected), than you crouch down, and press diagonally up right or up left to use it while you attack while pressing the A button! Thankfully the rest of the game makes up for this weak spot, with beautiful stages, nice level design, and bosses that can often be a puzzle to figure out, but very satisfying to beat! If you've never played this game before, now is the perfect chance to do so, via the Nintendo Switch Super NES Online Service! I highly recommend it, to anyone looking for a good Action Platform Game! Enough said, true believers!
