Recently I was recruited to join a website called Hooked Gamers, a less informed but still pretty cool version of GameSpot.

For those of you who want to check it out, go to www.hookedgamers.com

So far I have only one article posted, but within a couple of days a second will be posted. Look for the Rogue Warrior Preview to read my first article.

    Chill out.

So I'm back, now, but not at the same intensity I once was. I've got a lot going on, what with work and whatnot. But if there are any people still paying any attention to me, I'll be doing some random stuff here and there.

    That's it. Chill out.

So I was doing a mock provincial exam in school this morning when my teacher puts this envelope with the school logo in one corner and my name written on the front. Curious, I put it to the side so that I could finish the exam, but the whole time I couldn't help but think about what it might say.

Finally, the exam ended, and I went outside and opened the letter. Here's what it said:

    "Dear Bryan

Throughout the years at the Career Technical Center" that's my school "we have seen academically advanced students progress to higher achievements. I would like to do the honor of inviting you to share your success at the annual CTC Award ceremony. You will be receiving an award for your outstanding work ethic and acamedic achievement during your time at the Career Technical Center."

And then there was some stuff about when it is and what's going to happen, including a BBQ lunch It was signed by the principal, so you know it's valid.

Anyways, just thought I'd share that with my friends here at GameSpot!

    Chill out.

So check out the new banner I made for myself. pretty snazzy, huh? Not my best work...well actually, banner wise it is my best work

I'm currently making a sig for myself based on the same motif, except instead of having playable characters in it, I'll have the extra guys: Navi, a Metroid, and a Venus Djinni.

So that's all I wanted to say. Chill out.

Contrary to popular opinion, this blog is not about the board game Payday

Instead, it is about the days when I get paid.

Today is such a day. When my shift is over at work, I will get a nice piece of paper with some numbers on it, probably looking something like $838.74, althought that's purely a guestimate. I do know, however, that the ballpark is somewhere between eight and nine hundred dollars. Why is that, you ask? Because I work 40 hours a week at $13.00/hr, that's why. The thing is, though, that I don't work full shifts, so I could be getting quite a bit more dough. But hey, $800some bucks every two weeks is pretty kick @$$, if I do say so myself.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Isn't it cool? I used the program GIMP, which I got off of nazguldragon15. That dude is awesome.

But anyways, I know it's simple, but hey, it's the first one I made, and I kind of followed a tutorial I found on the GIMP site, but hey. I like it.

I've noticed that several profiles have customized banners at the top of the page (how could I not have, every other person has one) and I decided to take a crack at making one.

Now, I know it's pretty lame when compared to some of the other banners people have. Frankly, the reason it sucks is because I did it in four and a half minutes using Paint. I don't have a Photoshop program, otherwise it'd be a hell of a lot better, believe  you me.

Anyways, it lists my most favourite of games series. I probably could have put Mario on there, but when it comes right down to it, I don't actually own any Mario games. Yeah, I've got Mario Kart Super Circuti for my GBASP, but that's not a Mario game so much as a game with Super Mario characters in it. I don't know, maybe that would count as a Mario game. In any case, the series isn't one of my favourites.

Let's see, what else? Golden Sun, of course has to be up there -- they have the most compelling stories on any handheld game ever made. I was going to say any game period, but then I remembered Final Fantasy VII and VIII and X and X-2 and the Tales games and Ocarina of Time and...

    But I digress.

You're probably going to be annoying after you read this next part but...does anyone reading this want to join my Fan Fiction Union? Even if you don't like writing any, just reading it, I need at least two more people so that I can form the Union. It won't happen for another month or so, since I accepted an invitation to be a charter member a little while ago, but soon it will happen!

Alright so I'm a part of this union called The Metroid Prime Union. It's a simple name, but it gets the point across, and really, what else do you need in a title? I like it. But anyways, the union isn't exactly moving along all that fast, so I've been promoted to Officer so that I can organize a Hunters WiFi tournament. I'm glad to do it -- hell, I already have a whole bunch of stuff planned out for it. The only thing is, I have no idea if we're going to get enough hunters for the tourney, seeing as not that many people have the game that I know of. If you do have the game, and would like to be part of a tournament, go here >> The Metroid Prime Union and join the Union. Or tell me you want to join and I'll send you an invite.

The really sucky part is that I probably won't be able to take part in the tournament. My schedule is so wacked out, and the whole being in a different Time Zone that practically everyone else on GS don't really make it easy for me to do WiFi battles at a specific time. It means I won't be able to rank up any time soon -- I'm still a 1* Hunter, with 1 point towards leveling up but I'm working on it.

And what's going on with my level?!? 99.01% ??? That's insane! If only I had posted a little bit more...

    Chill out.

Lately I've seen a few blogs and forum posts about how people have lost some of their emblems, whether they be Afficionado's or Popular's or whatnot. Well, now it's gone and happened to me. I had a Popular emblem, but it seems to have disappeared.

Now, I'm not going to be all whiny like some other people and pretend to cry because there is one less emblem to my account. Unlike others, I have a theory about why emblems keep disappearing. Actually, it's not really my theory, but that's besides the point.

Apparantley, GS is making brand new Reviewer emblems. Wouldn't it make sense that if they are removing peoples emblems they are going to replace them with new and improved ones? Better pictures, more detailed descriptions, maybe? Or maybe they're deleting some Emblems because they are creating a new rating for whatever that emblem represented.

But in the end, you just need to quit whining about a missing emblem -- it's not going to kill you if it doesn't come back.

Okay, so now I'm "Convivial" instead of just "Neighbourly", which I guess is pretty cool. To bad those emblems don't really do anything other than look pretty on your profile, you know? They should, I don't know, give points towards each persons total ranking or something.

Now I'm thinking about this. Maybe there could be a ranking list of all the member of GS, like how a certain game could be number 1 out of all on the system, but only number 35 out of every game on GS. You know what I mean, they have those rankings on the Game Profile pages. Make one of those for members, and have your level give you a certain amount of points, each emblem gives a certain amount, etc. etc. Even whether or not your a recruit in all your unions or an officer or the leader could up your standing.

    But they'll never do that....

I've always had a steady influx of Union invitations, but still I'm only a member of 9. Some of you might think that this is a small number, others might think of it as a large number. Whatever your preference, it is these invitations that this blog post is about.

Some of my friends are members of several Unions, and send me invitations as soon as they join. While I'm grateful to them for thinking that I'm a worthwile candidate for Union membership, they might think that I'm spurning them when I don't accept, or accept and then resign not that much later. No one has said anything to me, of course, but I just thought that if someone is having these types of thoughts that I'd do something to stop them.

I do not by anymeans automatically decline Union invitations. I always browse throught the Union, see what games they revolve around, the Union level, how many members are already involved, etc. Depending on the results, I'll either accept or decline the invitation. And I try to only join Unions that I feel I'll actually contribut to on a regular basis. I don't want to join a Union if I'm never going to visit it and post in it. So if you're sending my invitations and I'm not accepting, don't worry about it or think that I'm trying to insult you: I just don't feel like the Union would benefit from my membership.

One final note, and I know I've said this in the last few blog's I've posted, but the whole Fan Fiction Union I'm hoping to start...I still only have one Officer hopeful -- sugus07. Please, if you have any interest in reading or writing Fan Fiction, let me know you want to be an officer! You're stories will be posted! Even if you don't want to be an officer, just a recruit, let me know and I'll invite you once I get the Union up and running.

    Thank you.

Just so everyone knows, I do have a job now, and with school I'm running 14 hour days and it's all work, so I won't be able to get on GS very much over the next few weeks. For those of you who depend on my witicisms and comments to sustain you life, don't kill yourself yet; I'll be coming back soon. In fact, most weekends I'll be able to post, now that I think about it.

So I think I finally discovered a way to solve this problem that arrose a few weeks ago with my Metroid fan fic. I've been advertising it as a story in between Metroid Fusion and Metroid Prime, but I found out that Prime comes before Fusion, so that kind of screws everything up. However, after rereading everything I've written, I realized that I haven't actually made any references to the Prime series as of yet. So what I'm going to do is write very slowly and wait for the true fifth Metroid game to come out (since Fusion was Metroid 4) and make the ending of Abrasion co-incide with that. Pretty smart huh? I am so smart! I am so smart! S-M-R-T! I mean S-M-A-R-T!

But on another note, one of my two best friends just got a girlfriend -- not that much of a big deal, but he's 280+lbs., the girls no more than 120lbs, and she's FREAKING HAWT AS HELL. That means that both my best friends have girlfriends, and I don't! And I'm the oldest out of our group! I'm the best looking! And yet somehow the other two guys get the girls.

It's okay though. I'm smarter than both of them combined.

    (Cries himself to sleep.)

Okay, so I'm not a sissy boy. I've had a girlfriend in the past, it just so happens that she was a slut and I don't like those kind of girls. And she lied to me about just about everything.

On a happier note, I might, might, be getting my own car. It's a '89 Escort, nothing to fancy, just what I need to get from point A to point B. But it's got a killer stereo system, so it's all good. Checks to help my pay for this car can go to...Well, you can just PM me if you'd like to contribute.

One last thing before I go. I still plan on making that Union for fan fiction, and so far I've only got sugus07 as a charter member hopeful. Please, if you're reading this and you like to read fan fiction, or know people who do and who would like to be a member, LET ME KNOW! I need three more people, but the more the merrier.

    Chill out.

It seems as though everyone on my friends list has made a union or wants to make one or is thinking about making one...so I'm going to jump on the bandwagon!

Hopefully you know about my Metroid fan fic -- it's posted in my blog, as well as in a Union, so it's not hard to find. If you've read it, you've probably seen how good it is (I know, I'm being a tad egotistical). What I'm thinking of doing is creating a Union where anyone can post their stories. The officers and I will be able to post them as updates, and this way you can get opinions from people on your writing skill.

I'm not going to start the union until I have a guaranteed four charter members, so if you'd like to be one, and can contribute to the union, please, let me know!

I'm going to call it "StarBurst Galaxy"...NOT!. I don't have a name, but I'm thinking something along the lines of Fan Fiction Central, although I know it's not that flashy. Help with the name would be appreciated.

I have recently learned a most shocking bit of information -- the Metroid Prime series actually takes place after the first Metroid game, not the fourth, as I had originally thought. My story relies upon the fact that Prime comes after Fusion, not before.

So my dilemma is this: do I continue on with my story without changing anything, or rewrite it so that it actually follows the Metroid plot line, or stop this story inthe middle and start something completly new?

Please, if you have an opinion, let me know.

Ah, the weekend. Is there any point of the week any better than the weekend? I think not.

But alas, no new tidings about the weekend, not yet anyway. I'm most likely getting a job on Monday (I hope) so I'll finally be getting some money. Expect my game library to go up a little bit after that. Of course, I'll be getting a cell phone first, but that's beside the point.

Here's to kicking ass and chewing bubblegum, as a friend of mine says. *raises bottle of Mountain Dew*

I finally got level 9 "Ikari Warrior". I've been Quad Damage for almost a month it seems. It partially due to the fact that all I've been doing on GS is posting in forums -- and not all that often. But I got my level 9, so I'm happy.

To commemorate such a momentous occasion *rollseyes* I got myself a new User Icon. I don't know what it's supposed to be, but it looks better than that profile view of Link. And anyway, if I'm writing a fan fiction on Metroid, why should I have a User Icon of Link???

As for the latest with Metroid: Abrasion, I'm happy to say that chapter 5 is on it's way, but I won't be posting it as soon as I'd like. I'm reading a couple books right now at home and they have to go back to the library fairly soon, so I won't be on the computer to write for a while. Don't despair, though. Chapter 5 will be here soon.

My mom and sister love using eBay -- seriously it's all they ever do. They even went so far as to by clothes for our DOG.

    Yeah.

So I decided to try it out, and low and behold, I found some things I could buy. Two items have been bought, actually -- the Final Fantasy VII Advent Children movie and the original version of Final Fantasy VIII. And no, that was not a typo. I bought FF8. I'm still trying to get FF7, aight?

I haven't gotten FFVIII as of yet, but I watched FFVII:AC last night -- unbe-freakin-lievable. You'd better believe it.
