My Friends

1Jul 07
My blogs serve as a nice reference for when things happened. Back on March 21, I had an entry about the GameSpot's addition of tables to posts/sigs etc. So imagine my surprise when over three months later, those tables don't work. In fact, it doesn't seem as if they've ever worked. The code is simply parsed out.

There were a couple boards from at least a month ago in the tech support forum that went ignored, so I made my own to the same result. Someone must have read it, yet nothing.

What's worse is that the table option still exists in the advanced WYSIWYG editor as if it's a valid option. It is not. Also note that it's not in the list of "known glitches". Go ahead, try it. Make a table with 1 in one cell and 2 in another with 3 and 4 in another row.

What you should get is something like this:
1___2

3___4

Instead, because it's broken, you get this:
1234

Complain. They can't ignore everyone. I don't even care if they fix it as long as they get rid of the option from the editor. Until then, it's an insult.

Gamespot should probably be renamed "Glitchspot", as I'm sure you've heard it called. There are so many bugs in the system. It's ridiculous. What exactly would you have used it for?

My intended purpose for tables is to add a picture or pictures to my signature on either side. Presently, adding an image would add it to a single line, but I have multiple lines of text.

    Ex.

    [IMG] text [IMG]

if multiple lines, it shows up like this
    text
    text [IMG]

    rather than immediately beside.

It could also be used, although I haven't had a specific instance, to organize lengthy posts/blogs/articles in a more professional manner.

A cookie to anyone who notices the song reference in the title and what song it is.

Abba - Thank You For The Music
1337 Google skillz. You owe me one cookie .

Anyway, if you want to amass a giant spam army to all post that the tables don't work at once so it can't possibly be ignored, I'm in.
suck

su-su-suck
(I tried it with the other brackets but they just disappear.) Lawl @ complete lack of HTML knowledge... why the heck don't comments have WYSIWYG? That's going straight to the complaints forum.

WEEEE!!! (----- failled attempt at table border .

Yeah, I hate that there is no WYSIWYG editor for comments. Instead, you have to memorize the text shortcuts for your favorite smileys, and to italicize you have to do this those wierd things that I can't type or they disappear.
