Wow, it was the best christmas so far for me. On a non-gaming note, I got an Ipod touch for my birthday...that is one amazing device..never been a fan of Ipods but just had to have that one cos it beats carrying a huge psp just to watch my movies on the train. On a gaming note, I am now fully up to date with gaming hardware. I got the shock of my life when I opened a huge box on xmas day and saw...not just a PlayStation 3...but a 60 GB PlayStation 3. Americans can laugh if they want cos they get 80GB models but getting a 60 GB now in UK???...that was awesome, as I have a load of PS2 games and just like I retired my Xbox and Gamecube as soon as I got the 360 Elite and the Wii, I wanted to retire my PS2 when I got the PS3 but as is the norm with Sony, you need to drain your pockets for extra functionality having you buy adapters just to plug in a dual shock 2 and PS2 memory card (I felt just as pissed when they made the PS2 with only 2 controller ports while the cube and Xbox had 4). Anyway, I have backward compatibility and just played through half of god of war 2 on the PS3. Alas, my shelf (come to think of it, I need a new shelf) has the three current gen consoles sitting together in harmony just as was planned. The PS2 will have to stay until I get those adapters for the PS3, then I can finally retire it *Sniff*. On a bad note however, I didn't get any games for the PS3, which is not so bad considering the fact that I don't think the PS3 has any great exclusives now and I already have all the good multiplatformers on the 360. I wasn't impressed with heavenly sword after playing the demo but I am looking forward to Haze, Metal Gear 4 and hopefully in the near future, god of war 3. What of GTA 4? I hear you say.....dont worry, I always played GTAs on PC cos you get to mod the city and cars and it looks alot better too on the PC, which brings me to the second bad note.....My PC has probably finally given up the ghost. That's ok because, being a geforce 2 P4 which I got in 2001 (top of the range at its time), its time for an upgrade as my laptop can't handle crysis and I'm dying to play it. I also need a new PC for bioshock and GTA 4 so my blog for next month will probably be called "Yes!!! got a top of the range pc"......or not. Anyway wishing you gamers out there a merry christmas and happy new year. Its a good year for gaming too with GTA 4, MGS 4, Haze 4...just kidding, Ninja Gaiden 2, Smash bros brawl and other greats coming. Oh and yeah, I'm a game developer now so I get to go to next year's GDC in san francisco. See you guys next year.
Well its here finally, Halo 3, personally I agree the game is abit over-hyped but Halo 1 being the reason I bought my Xbox, the game really deserves the attention (at least to me). Halo 3 was certainly the game I was gonna get an Xbox 360 for but sadly, here I am with my Halo 3 collector's edition (the legendary edition was sold out ok....) and no Xbox 360. Life isnt fair. I thought I had it all planned but a flaw in my cash flow plan left nothing for the Xbox 360. Oh well, will just have to wait a few weeks to recover. In the meantime, Ill just have to sit here and admire my Halo 3 cover.........
