As the industry grows, So does creativy, right?

In a multi billion dollar industry, one would assume that there has to be mass creativity, right? well there is creativity but not tons of it. This is a problem that we can still fix in this young industry. I myself love many games and many franchise but how much of this can we handle before we go dumb and buy into any crap that comes along. Games like,

Halo, Twisted Metal, Burnout, Call of duty, Project Gotham Racing, Final Fantasy, Tekken, Tony Hawk, Ratchet and Clank, Devil May Cry, Gran Turismo, Metal Gear Solid, Wipeout, Crash Bandicoot and last but not least Mario....and many more...

are really really good, but Halo being one of some exceptions all these games are on their 4th installment and some even on their 6th or 7th or more!. We have gotten to a point where the best games of the year are sequals. The industry started with an amazing flow of games back in the 80s, then in the 90s Sony came along and made some of these games live forever in our hearts and minds, but Sony being the "leader" in the industry all they have done is push these sequals down our throats. The reason we all praise these games so much, is because we are not giving anything better anything creative, so ofcourse these are going to be top notch games because thats all there is. And all the blame goes to Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo for shutting all form of creativity because it may not make as much money as the franchises. This blog may be able to go on for miles but i think the point was made. The industry is still young and we can only hope that in the future creativity will be the norm in gaming.

    xbox live...free?

Ok so everyone lately is complaining about why should we pay for xbox live when other services that are "similar" have online play for free. While both side of the argument have good points, let me take a moment and add another point that really has not been touched. If we were able to create as many gamertags/screen names as we wanted, which of course would happen since it would become free, we would no longer have that identity that makes you unique. If you have been an xbox live user for a while you know you sometimes play other games and people are like "hey i played with you before". And that identity is carried on with you everywhere you go. I have friends where we call each other by our gamertags, because we have created an identity that is appreciated and where you have stored achievements to proof your gaming abilities. I have met people that have about 10 different names on their PS3 and never really having a sence of achievement. Our gamertag is that dogtag that a soldiers wear on their necks. We stop paying for gamertag, everyone is going to have tons of names and never be able to proof their achievements. And as a soldier keeps his dogtag forever so shall we keep our gamertag....
