It's almost fall- or maybe it already is

Yeah I'm not sure if fall technically started or not, but if not now it will be fall soon. Anyway now the leaves are all starting to change colors and the temperatures starting to cool down, and hopefully soon the bees will all be dead. Anyway this time of year is both happy and sad in some ways. September is just one of those months, for me anyway where I'm kinda torn in two places- sometimes I'm looking back wishing it was still summer (and this year frequently reminiscing about my family cruise), sometimes I'm looking forward to Thanksgiving (or at least when the Halloween decorations go up, I saw some decorations at Walgreen's last week. I'm not quite sure if I like Halloween, I like the decorations and stuff, but I don't really care for the actual day). Any way the leaves look nice when they change colors and that is good, but last weekened I saw something a little disheartening about the season- I went to my uncle's garden to get some parsley, because my mom was cooking, and the garden was pretty bare, The mint and parsley was there but the peppers and the tomatoes were all gone.

Oh here's an interesting story I saw on tv: Some guy was talking about some guy he knows that came to Conneticut from the Congo (in Africa). Anyways he saw the guy at the foot of a tree staring up at it, and he asked the African what was the matter, and the African replied "look at the tree, the top, the leaves are red", he was astonished. His American friend told him pretty soon all the tree leaves will turn colors, at this the African shook his head in disbelief and said "no, no" and then the American said eventually the leaves would all fall off the trees, but not to worry, in the winter the trees will be covered in snow, the African asked what is snow , so the American showed him some pictures of it. He then said that eventually the snow would cover the whole ground, the African shook his head and said "no, no" and seemed a bit scared, his American friend assured him, everything will be alright, spring will come and the leaves and flowers will grow back. I guess we New Englanders take our seasons for granted and expect it, we never think what those who have never seen leaves change colors or have never seen snow would think about those things.

Also, from my kitchen window I noticed two trees in the swamp whose leaves are completely red, I think they all changed colors, although it could just be a naturally red- leafed tree, but I don't think so as I never noticed the red before.

A Lot of Rain this weekend

As the Saying goes "When it rains it pours" and boy was it pouring these last few days! Yesterday when I was walking to class it was raining real bad, luckily I had my poncho on. At one point I was walking down a set of stairs in the side walk and there was a big wide puddle that covered the whole sidewalk. And it wasn't just raining and dissipating, the rain water was accumulating on the sidewalk and was actually flowing like a stream. Heck when I was walking down the stairs the water was running off of them like a miniature water-fall, it looked kinda cool, except for the cold rain hitting me and the wind trying to blow the hood off my head.

Just Got my black belt a couple days ago.

A couple days ago I got my Karate black belt. I had to go through a test and it got exhausting at times. However, I can't get into details because I have to keep some things secret.
