  The family gets bigger....

  Sorry I've been out for almost a week and neglecting my duties here on GS, but I was at a wonderous event. My baby sister, all of 20 years old, got married this past Saturday in North Texas.

  She was absolutely beautiful, and the event went off without a hitch, now she's in Playa del Carmen on a well deserved honeymoon.

  Only 20...if i was 20 and even thinking about getting married, my dad woulda beaten that right out of me (a good beating, the kind some pretentious kids today need to get, not abuse). But daddy's lil girl, gets the grand wedding. Amazing what girls do to a hard as stone man like my pop.

  Going home to that small lil Texas town and seeing family members at an event other than a funeral was actually a real nice change of pace. Happy thoughts, smiles, the good kind of crying, etc filled the weekend up. I'm glad i got to go.

  Now i'm back, time for some pie!

  Is there a way to challenge a moderation punishment?

  I got recently moderated. Now i understand i mentioned the word of an emulation program in the post. i didn't advertise it or beg for it (like the mod notice said i did), i was praising an old game title and mentioned an emulator i use.

  my mistake.

  i lost an entire level and about 30 points from my score. i don't have a huge moderation history, most of my modded posts are because the entire thread got removed for other peoples actions. so i'm thinking this is a bit harsh of a punishment. is there a way to plead my case or get an explanation from the mod who oversaw my post? if asked, i would have happily edited my own post, but i didnt get any contat, just a big stamp of "guilty" and point loss from an unseen overseer.

  i tried finding a contact or appeal address, but so far no luck. surely there's a way to contact gamespot staff right?

  Gearing up for Metal...erm...Gear... yeah

  So, I go back in time to my original NES, and a neat little title called Metal Gear. Oh man i had a blast with that game. I remember it was fun, hard, with all sorts of neat weapons and gadgets to pick up to work one's way through maze of Outer Haven.

  That would be my last foray into the Metal Gear universe. I never got Metal Gear II, and i didn't own a PS1 or PS2 so i never played the solid series. I just recently got a PSP, so i haven't played Portable Ops either.

  Now on the eve of Metal Gear Solid IV, i'm absolutely friggin lost as to the story so far. I heard someone was someone else dad and tehre are relatives who are good and bad and someone was president but a bad guy and people using other peoples limbs.

  So...I picked up the Metal Gear Solid: Essential Collection. I plan to catch up on all my MGS know-how before i delve into MGS IV on my wonderful PS3.

  I popped MGS into the PS3, and admittedly, am having a real hard time with it. The control scheme using a DS3 is cumbersome, so i may remote play it using my PSP. The graphics certainly show their age, but i'm going to give it the fair shake it deserves. Needless to say, i'm really hoping to get through it quickly so i can move on to the hopefully more technically friendly 2 and 3 in the series.

  With a half broken foot, i have few excuses to do other things then be on my PSP and PS3 all weekend trying to prepare myself for MGS IV. Wish me luck!
