walrus_8463's Blog

It was not too long ago that I wrote a blog about some problems that this website was having due since their format change. I wrote it after all my previous blogs had disappeared. When they returned, my latest blog disappeared. Did the blog disappear because Tv.com fixed my blog problem or because they didn't want any negative feedback on their errors? I don't know. Do you? Anyway, I thought I'd write a new blog because not only is Tv.com having technical difficulties, but Movietome.com seems to be a difficult site to handle.

    Tv.com

Occasionally, after going to different pages on the site, I get logged off and have to sign in again. I don't know if this is a glitch or a precaution for security purposes. Either way, it's a bit annoying. Especially when I'm trying to submit new data.

    Movietome.com

This site doesn't allow for people to submit stuff to movie profiles such as new actors, character names or plot descriptions. Is this site still under development or are the developers not as attentive as they should be?

I have finished watching a lot of new shows lately and I'm a bit disappointed that they are done. I have finishd The Girl From Tomorrow, Spellbinder, Spellbinder: Land of the Dragon Lord, Tarzan and Ocean Girl (Seasons 1 through 3 only). I recently started watching the new USA Network series Royal Pains. I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was funny and dramatic. I also saw all of the pilot episode of Journeyman for the first time. I hope it comes out on DVD. Too bad it was cancelled. Since I saw that Moon Bloodgood will be on Burn Notice, my interest in the show has been rekindled. I hope that the new season of Heroes will be worth watching.

A while back, I was browsing on Youtube and I discovered three shows that I had watched when I was younger: Ocean Girl, Spellbinder and The Girl From Tomorrow. I also found Spellbinder's sequel TV show: Spellbinder: Land of the Dragon Lord. I highly recommend these shows. Here's a little bit about each of them.

    1. Ocean Girl takes place near the oceans off the coast of Australia. It tells the story of Neri, a young girl living alone on an island whose only companion is a humpback whale named Charley. She soon meets Jason and Brett, two brothers living closeby in an underwater science station. The boys soon learn that Neri is more than the average girl. The show revolves around the mysteries of her origins and trying to keep her safe from those who would exploit her.

    2. Spellbinder tells the adventures of Paul Reynolds, a teenage boy who gets sucked into a parallel world where everything is different than what he knows. There is no modern technology and the land is ruled by a group of mysterious group known as the Spellbinders.

    3. Spellbinder: Land of the Dragon Lord focuses on Kathy Morgan and her travels to parallel worlds such as the Land of the Dragon Lord.

    4. The Girl From Tomorrow centers around Alana, a young girl from the year 3000. When a warrior from the year 2500 kidnaps her and takes her to the year 1990, Alana must rely on the help of newfound friends to survive an unknown time and make it back home. Later, we see her adventures in the year 2500 as well.

All of these shows are from Australia. I have not been able to find a local retailer that stocks these shows on DVD. IF anyone knows where in the USA I can buy these shows in Region 1 DVD format, please let me know. Please check these shows out. I am the editor for both Spellbinder shows and I hope to one day become editor for the other two.

Today has been a busy day for me. I had to go out of town to get all four of my wisdom teeth removed. First, they put an IV in to my arm that put fluids into me. Then, gave me a drug called propofol for anesthesia. I then started counting backward from one hundred by sevens. Next thing I know, I'm waking up and the surgery is done. I felt pretty weak afterwards. Now, I'm keeping gauze in my mouth until the bleeding inside my mouth stops. The anesthesia has worn off, but the stuff they used to numb the inside of my mouth is still in effect. I sure hope it wears off soon. I learned that it is best to get wisdom teeth removed at an early age to make it easier.

Well, it finally came. I have been at my job for over a year and I finallly get a week's paid vacation. Yesterday, I went to Cape Girardeau and spent the night. While there, I stayed at the Drury Suites. Expensive but nice. I went to the mall, got some Chinese food for dinner and bought a couple books: a new Chinese dictionary and Angel: After the Fall Volume One. The latter featured the first five issues of the comic/graphic novel. While I was there, I noticed that my car was behaving very badly. Whenever I wasn't moving or not going very fast, my car overheated. Also, after going 70 miles an hour on the way over there, my car had a hard time speeding up after I stopped at a red light. I made it home okay, but my car hasn't stopped giving me trouble. This has been a real hot day. After I got home, I made an appointment to get my car looked at. I also bought Issue 6 of After the Fall. After I get my car fixed, maybe I'll go to the movies tomorrow. I wanna see The Dark Knight again. I might even see Hancock. I love superhero movies.

I was a bit disappointed that Angel got cancelled after the series finale left Angel and company battling a horde of demons. I was happy to hear that there was a Season 6 in comic book form. Apparently, after Team Angel takes down the Circle of the Black Thorn, the Senior Partners of Wolfram and Hart send Los Angeles and everyone in it to Hell. The comic book, Angel: After the Fall, shows what happens to Team Angel. Some of my favorite characters are in this book. Illyria, Nina Ash, Wesley, Connor, Gunn and even Kate Lockley. Today I bought the first issue and I enjoyed while sitting in my car in this hot Missouri Spring. I was lucky to find a place that sells the comic book. I wandered around downtown for a while before I found it. It was pretty well hidden. I learned about it from a guy who runs a second-hand bookstore. I hope the store wasn't one of those magic stores that only appear at certain times like in that book The Chocolate Touch. This comic book looks to be a worthy successor to the Angel series. Maybe there will be a movie or two made that is set after the comic book series. Something that will leave the us, the fans, and the characters in the Angel/Buffyverse with a sense of closure and finality.

While trying to edit and add actors to movies on MovieTome, I found out that I was not able to. Apparently, there is something wrong with this feature on MovieTome. Is there anyone who knows when this problem will be resolved? I like this new site and I hope to raise my level on it.

For a while I have been trying to remember the name of a movie I saw years ago but could not remember the name of. The movie was about a young boy lost in the wilderness. The only parts I could remember were near the end. The boy has made breakfast and either a boat or helicopter lands. The boy asks if the pilot wants breakfast. Then, he is back at home and the movie ends. If anyone knows the name of this movie, please let me know as soon as possible. It has been bugging me. While trying to remember this film, I started remembering others that I had seen when I was younger. Maybe they will jog your memory a bit.

    1. Daniel and the Towers

    2. The Adventures of Milo and Otis

    3. The Girl From Tomorrow

    4. Back Home

    5. Hyper Sapien: People from Another Star

    6. Vincent and Me

    7. The Boy Who Loved Trolls

Today is one of the better St. Patrick's Days in recent memory for me. It got me thinking of some of the fairy tale creatures I used to think about when I was younger. Leprechauns, trolls, selkies, will o' the wisps, etc. Not a bad thing to remember being a kid once in a while. I just finished a three day weekend at work, I'm off for two days, I have internet at home and I finished a good book. When working in a factory, the days go by fast. The days off go even faster. The pain in my arms sure doesn't help. I need to get back into school soon. With my new laptop, I am able to access the internet at home instead of going to town to do it. The book I just finished is Dead Beat, the seventh book in the Dresden Files series. I plan to buy the next book, Proven Guilty, today at Hastings. I hope everybody who read this, Irish or not, will have a happy St. Patrick's Day.

It's been a while since I have written a blog. Here's what I've been up to. I still work at my factory job making manifolds for residential furnaces. I work 12 hour shifts and my hands aren't very happy about it. I had a couple of weeks off because they did inventory which gave mea chance to rest. For a while, I have been dealing with the info about a friendhaving brain cancer. That hit me when I first heard. Heroes Season 2 finished up. It wasn't as long as Season 1. I was awarded trusted user status on the Heroes guide. That was good and unexpected. I plan to take at least one class at college to help me get my BA degree. Not much happens where I am. I still hope to, one day, save the world.

Since I started watching Heroes, I have been fascinated by the concept of having a superpower and using it to save the world. Superpowers seem to root from a persons personality and environment. Hearing what kind of power a person would want can tell you a little about someone. I am curious to know what power you would want if given the choice. Please post your choice and comments on this blog.

A few days ago, I started work full time at a factory that makes heaters. I am working twelve hours a day from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM. It is a hard job. I hope to work at it until I can find a job where I won't have to work so many hours so I can get back in school. After I get my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education, I can hopefully join the Peace Corps. I hope everyone else has a good job to work at. Having a job makes me feel a lot better than being unemployed.

If anyone from the staff reads this, I wanted to let you know that Yakira is having trouble sending PMs and posting blogs. Yakira wanted me to tell the staff that they will be absent until June 21st. If somebody else reads this and can contact the staff, please let them know this. Thanks a bunch.

This Saturday, I hope to go to my high school reunion in my hometown. It will be at the lake nearby. I hope that I have fun. I don't really know what to expect when I get there. I'll be glad to see all the friends I have lost touch with. It was organized by one of the people in my class. I just hope there isn't any alcohol there. It makes me uncomfortable. Alcohol can turn the nicest person into a bad person. I have seen it before. It makes me sad and angry.

I would like to inform you that I am hopefully getting a new job at Briggs and Stratton. The pay seems pretty sweet. If I work there for a while, I could earn enough to go to New York or China. I have always wanted to visit those places. I may be overly optimistic, but it helps me feel better about life. It will probably take me a little longer to become a certified teacher, but I have a little over 86 years to live. So I am not worried.

The TV.com website must still be having some problems. After I've submitted info to a show or person, the points don't show up. Plus, my shows that I'm editor of aren't showing up on my profile and the icon is gone. What is going on?! Is this happening to anyone else?

Today I was not able to make submissions. Whenever I tried, the screen would come up white. When I pressed the refresh button, nothing would happen. This is disappointing. Has this happened to anyone else? By the way, is everyone enjoying their life? I am trying to find something to make my life a little more exciting.

After looking in many places, I think I have finally found a job that I can handle. I recently gave my information to a local temp agency in my town and they placed me at a plastics factory. I told them that I liked the work and they said they will try to have me working there on a regular basis. I finally have steady work. If I get this job, I will quit working part-time at the nursing home. This factory doesn't trigger my OCD as much as the nursing home does. I worked an eight hour shift today and it was pretty good. At least I'll make some money.

Happy Valentine's Day to all my kindred TV fans. I am curious to know how everyone's Valentine's Day was for them. What kind of gifts did you give and/or receive? Did you go out to dinner with your loved one? I hope everyone had a great one.
