    Braiiins....

Nah... Just messing with you guys. I am still alive and well and not yet part of the zombie horde.Yet. So, you guys may have been wonderign why I have been generally absent form the forum and not blogging, well, I am about to tell you guys exactly why right here in zis blog.

First off, there was the arrival of Dragon Age... I took you guys advice and got it for my PS3 and I have not regretted it.Mostly because I saw what my computer can not handle (which is aparrantly a lot of games). The game has occupied me for a looong time and so far I am still enjoying it. currently I am experimenting with Mage abilities and so far I have gotten some pretty interesting results with the glyph combos. (area of effect spells that are like traps)

Then there were the grueling exams. They were kinda tough but I got ok results. Except for Social Sciences. Aparrantly I got such a good grade that I got exempted from the Exam. Which I aparrantly was hard according to my cla$$mates. After that was the general post exam pre Christmas revelry. It was awesome. Met a nice girl who i like and shares interests with me so I intend on asking her out. Eventually. Hopefully.

Ah and then finally there ws the arrival of my tita (aunt). She is staying for the break here in my house and soon we are going to be spending a lot of time out of the house so i don't expect to be a regular again here in the forums till after the hollidays. Till then, I wish you guys all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New year!

And For those who don't celebrate either, I say, Happy hollidays!

I have finally obtained the funds for exactly 1 new game and I intend on using this money for Dragon Age. However, I am not quite sure what version I should get. Should it be the PS3 version which can handle the game in it's full awesome,or the PC, where it can be modded over and over again. PC wise, my computer is not that good , not much RAM and it needs more hard drive space. I am not too sure if it can handle the modding. What do you guys think i should get?

I have incredibly bad bad luck. Everyone that I have met, is aparrantly attached.

    Dang.

There has to be some way to break this curse...

In the meantime, translating Macbeth into a non english language should keep me busy...

So hey guys! Things are still looking kinda crappy these days but tomorrow, things are definitely gonna have a streak of awesome! Tomorrow is my cluster night, where me and my club will have a sleep over on school grounds allowing for loads of fun! Anyway, here is my new 10 things list.

1.Despite me fitting the sterotype of nerd very well, I can and will try the more exciting non ball related sports.
Like skydiving. If I could. I wish. Rapelling will have to do.

    2. I am a big fan of the lore of just about any franchise you give me. Star Wars, Assassins' Creed, Half-Life etc.

    3. I am 5"9 1/2 tall. Pretty tall for someone in my country.

    4. I am much better at communicating through writing or typing than speaking. I have learned that I am definetly no orator.

    5. I love food.Any kind of not too sweet food.

    6. I love to cook food.If I could I would cook more often but I know that the kitchen is pretty small, and things are tight there.

'7. I lack shelf space. I have a huge number of books, but nowhere to store them :< . One ay, I shall devote a room to my library...

    8. I am not a music person. The only songs I know that are not in Rock Band, are very very few.

    9. I really am such a nerd. Compare me to the sterotype, and i probably fit the bill.

    10. I am currently trying to improve my writing. I have a few works right now, and I hope to someday finish a few of the others.

Well, that's all for now guys. Now, as to who i shall tak it will be...

horgen123,JustPlainLucas, and rawsavonWell, the rebirth of this thing will probably let us have a few more entertaining moments. Especially with all the new guys around.

Hey guys. Its been a while since I made one of these. Some... things happened since the last time I blogged you see.
I met a girl I really liked. She seemed nice, and shy. Like me. Then... Well... It was the first time I was rejected. I took it pretty badly. I just felt... Depressed. Like everything seemed darker than usual. But now I am over it. I realized that these things happen so now here I am.

Now, I realize that most of you know that I currently reside in the Philippines. Things area lal right for now, but my gut is still screeming "The end is nigh fool! Prepare the shelter! Stockpile food and water, get a machete for looters!"
Somehow, i think it's right. Asides from the machete bit anyway. The storm was wickedly awesome though. In a terrifying mannerespecially if you have seen the raging river video....

So, after much work and I must admit, some rather inferior cramming, I have finished my podcast which I am unfortunately unable to publish here. Stupid time limit... Anyway, I have managed to upload it into another site so here is the link everyone. Forgive me for not linkifying it, but I seem to have forgotten how to linkify.

    http://comp3f0910.multiply.com/video/item/100/A_Brief_Summary_of_the_History_of_the_Philippines.swf

Please forgive me for its rather I must admit, shoddy workmanship. twas my first time, and the amount of time I had to do it was very little. Comments would be appreciated.

Now, this week is my exams for the term. Looks like its going to be a loooong week filled with studies and stress. And I can see now that the weekend after is going to be filled with hours of dizzyness with the arrival of The Orange Box into my home.

Gravity gun, portal and Flamethrower, here I come!

    After these blasted exams...

Its been quite a busy month for me with a lot of projects and tests. This would also happen to explain my general inactivity here for the past month which by the way reminds me, its been 3 years 2 weeks and 4 days since I joined GS. I hope to enjoy another year of posting with you guys. Anyway, so this large project of mine which i have been working on for my computer class is basically a powerpoint/video of the history of my country that has been summarized. I would not mind at all if you guys would check it out some time when it is finished and send me feedback. i won't mind at all. Hope you guys have been enjoying your summer so far. And if it is over as the new RC says, then I hope you guys enjoy the return of the Chalkboard.

So as some of you may have noticed I have been gone for a while both here and TFG with the exception of the occasional pop in for some rhyming help. You see it was during one english period that I was bored enough to actually put a little more effort than usual into a poem. And so far, it's been good. I think I may have stumbled upon something I should improve on somehow. Any ideas?

I've been running on 5-6 hours of sleep a day on weekdays, coupled with large amounts of work/study and then there is still the stuff that my dad has been giving me... Im really starting to feel the weight. Math would be easy if it were not for the darn compass ( I can't draw, period.). There is a whole lot of reading for English. Filipino is really hitting me bad with El filibusterismo, (the book which has been labled as the devil himself manifested into a book for years). And then there are the incompetent siblings who can't even figure out how to use the printer on this computer. Along with my parents too and money woes....

I think a n ice looong rest would help but sadly i don't think it would work. *sigh*

Hey guys. The reason I have been away for a while is that recently, I dug up an old copy of Evil Genius. You know the game that allows you to be aan evil genius of awesome. it just felt good doing all those acts of infamy and beating the good guys. Ahh, the memories I had with it...

Next up Monkey Island 3. One of the funniest game sI have ever played, and will forever be in my top 10 list of adventure games. The humor of the bumbling Guybrush Threepwood combined with it's piratey nature makes it all so enjoyable.

Well school so far has been alright. Lots of class supensions due to weather, but we have in general excellent teachers this year. Except science. I really am gonna need help for science this year after just one day with my Chem teacher. Currently im looking for a copy of Ender's Game to read. First of, I really wanted to read it for the longest time now, but I never could find a copy. Second, it is now on the booklist for the year so an extra incentive to find it. Wish me luck in my search for it and in my Acts of Infamy! A good day to you all.

This is possibly the best cheese I have ever tasted. It's a strong, yet creamy cheese, and I just love its effect on my mouth... i thank my Uncle who aparrantly gave this to us last year, and despite half a wheele of it being in the fridge for at least a year, it still tastes good. Wether or not ill be hale and hearty tomorrow is another thing.

For reference here is a picture I got from the net.

It has hit my school. Classes cancelled till the 22nd. And since I am displaying no symptoms I shall think of it as an extended summer vacation. Eat that La Salle! On a more serious note, I shall hope and pray for the safe recovery of the people who have been hit in my school. May they recover and survive this outbreak.

    *rant warning*

First week of school and already things have gone all FUBAR. Already we are hit with quizzes from the left and right and the teachers are not exactly happy being asigned to us, the most notorious class of the batch. Most suspensions, black marks, and infamous for its rough and tumble ways. Oh joy, I can tell what a year its going to be .

Secondly, there is my father, the ******* ****** expects me to do more with less. In union with my HW, he expects me to do all his paperwork, flawlessly. We have no scanner, photocopier or a printer which uses very little ink. I have to copy word for word the documents he gives me, and since im using Vista, it tends to screw it up so that is looks VERY different from the original document which needed so and so blanks filled in. And this is coming from a person who has never ever used most of these froms before, yet he demands perfection and sometimes I have no idea what im doing, especially when I found myself to be holding a flashlight in one hand, typing it in with my other hand and trying to have it accurate.

In summary, I guess I can give you a acronym which describes my current situation.

    SNAFU

Situation Normal : All ****** Up.

    *end rant*

So recently I got two new games, Hawx and inFamous. Let me give a very brief review for each one.

First off HAWX. This game, although ceritfied by Tom Clancy, which basivally means its quite realistic or at least has a decent compromise, does not seem that Clancy certified to me... However, I will ignore that simply because it is very very fun. Especially when you use the joystick, the keyboard controlls just do not feel right. The adrenalin I get when I fly past supersonic and suddenly go under it and nearly stall to doge missiles then recover to blast the enemy out of the sky is truely amazing. It feels right, and the joy of pulling off some death defying aerodynamic manouvers is unrivaled in any other flight sim I know of. So I give it a 4 out of 5. The need for a joystick to really enjoy this game (at least in my opinion) hampens its accessibility to everyone.

Now off to inFamous. A brief description to the ones who do not know about it. Basically you are a guy who has mysteriously been given power over electricity after a huge blast destroying a large portion of Empire city and you seem to be the only survivor. Basically this is a open world super hero game, where your actions affect how the citizens of empire will treat you. Being good means you will be loved, to the the point where the masses may occansionally attack the thugs and gangsters that now rule Empire ever since it was quarantined due to some plague going on.Being evil mean that they will either attack you (the citizens that is) or fear you so much they run away. Both seem to have an affect on your apperance. Now, over the course of this game, Cole, our hero/anti-hero, slowly unlocks new powers due to what seems to be in what my opinion, more massive bursts of electricity. The old, water is death is back and this time there seems to be an excuse, he is after all electricity incarnate. Anyway, All of the islands you first enter are accessible although later in the game they tell you exactly why its a bad idea to explore too far ahead. As long as there is power nearby, you are basically safe.

Now although the combat is fluid and very fun, I did hope for more gray areas when it came to Karmic actions. So far that is all the flaws I have found here in inFamous so i shall give it a 4 out of 5. For now.

And now I end with two quotes, one from each game.

Though I Fly Through the Valley of Death ... I Shall Fear No Evil. For I am at 80,000 Feet and Climbing!
(Sign over the entrance to the old SR-71 operating base Kadena, Japan).

"Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man's
character, give him power." - Abraham Lincoln

And here is a quote I plan on using the next time people complain that this is all I do during summer

Games lubricate the body and the mind.
    Benjamin Franklin

Last night my aunt passed away. It was a peaceful death. In her sleep. Currently I have mixed feelings now sad that shes goen yet happy that she is no longer suffering. You see she was paralyzed and things for her now were horrible. She used to be a really active person who hated inactivity before she was paralyzed and she looked beautiful before now. Now things were drastically different for her. She could not move, or eat much do pretty much do anything. For that I pitied her and I often wished that someday she could walk again. She sadly wont be able to. I just hope your happy wherever you are...

School starts on June 4 and while this may be welcome for my boredom, it is not conductive to my stress level. 3rd year is the important year where the colleges will look at my grades and its going to be a difficult year. However there is one plus side, we finally take up world history in our social sciences. I have been ready for that for ages thanks to my distinct need to do some reasearch on some games if they are only semi fictional and look up what happened then etc.

In other news i have discovered an old cache of games in my freinds old hardrive which he gave to me. It contains lots of old games from the old DOS days. Mostly SCUMM games. Such examples include Sam and Max, Day of the Tentacle and Secret of Monkey Island. All of em are awesome once I figured out how to acess em.

Its a shame that summer is ending so early for me but in a way im still kinda excited. Im gonna see all of my friends again at school and we plan on having one last gimmick before school begins. Probably a Rock Band round. and as such I already said dibs on guitar.
