I just heard from a friend of mine about the new game from Ubisoft :" Tom Clancy's HAWX.
And from what I could see and hear it seems to be a title worth keeping track of. maybe even a step up from Ace Combat but we'll have to wait and see how it turns out. But here is what the letter said:
"Tom Clancy's HAWX marks the next evolution of high altitude warfare in the Tom Clancy video game universe," said John Parkes, EMEA Marketing Director at Ubisoft. "We are thrilled to take to the skies and provide a new environment along with an extension of a familiar storyline from our other successful Tom Clancy franchises such as Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter."
Developed by Ubisoft's Bucharest studio, Tom Clancy's HAWX delivers an intense and authentic aerial combat experience by fully leveraging the benefits of the next-generation platform. The story begins in the year 2012. As the era of the nation-state draws quickly to a close, the rules of warfare evolve even more rapidly. More and more nations become increasingly dependent on private military companies (PMCs), elite mercenaries with a lax view of the law. The Reykjavik Accords further legitimize their existence by authorizing their right to serve in every aspect of military operations. While the benefits of such PMCs are apparent, growing concerns surrounding giving them too much power begin to mount.
Tom Clancy's HAWX is the first air combat game set in the world-renowned Tom Clancy's video game universe. Cutting-edge technology, devastating firepower, and intense dogfights bestow this new title a deserving place in the prestigious Tom Clancy franchise. Soon, flying at Mach 3 becomes a right, not a privilege.
That sounds good to me. I will keep track of this as it goes along and hopefully have some more info on it soon. I'll put some picks up a bit later.
Sweet.
Okay seeing that this will be my first actual blog entry here on Gamespot I decide to to keep it short and just get a feel for things and slowly work my way up to the more veteran Blogger's out there so pls try to take it easy on me with the criticism.
Okay so here goes...
If we (the normal gaming public) come up with a killer idea or story for a game what are the chances of us actually getting a developer to take notice? We'll I guess the chance is next to nothing. But should that stop us from at least writing a script or getting some artworkdone and sending it to them? I say hell no!
Maybe if we do it and do it in the proper manner someone out there might take note and maybe even have interest in your game. How cool will that be? Just imagine after years of hard work and determination you finally get your title out there for the world to play? Okay the game might get very bad reviews but just being able to play the game that you in term created must be one of the best feelings in the world.
The reason why I brought up this subject is simple... I have at least 3 games I would like to make. the first one is of epic proportions and if it can be pulled off it will without a doubt be one of the biggest titles ever made that I can promise you for a fact. The second one might be somewhat of a gamble but if it comes together the right way it will be a groundbreaking title for sure. I just don't have the knowlage in knowing how to pull it off thou. The 3rd one is actually a game based on a novel my little 17 year old brother wrote.(And he can have all the honours on that one). Somehow he just wrote a story that I was amazed by and just thinking of it as a story to a game just makes sense... And come to think of it I have at least 10 more ideas but not quite as solid as these 3.
Well obviously I'm not going to to give my ideas out on here just to have my ideas stolen and used and the 5 years down the line I see the title on the shelves and I'm still broke... No sir been conned way to many times to fall for it again...
Okay so you might be thinking "So what is the point?" The point is I'm not the only person with some really good scripts and stories or caracter disigns. There must be millions of us out there. So how do we go about getting the attension of let's say Rockstar, Capcom and Konami? (The ones that I would want to work with on these 3 titles)? How indeed?
Well it won't be as simple as getting their attention. I mean sure that in itself is not a simple task at all but let's just say you do get their attention. How do you present your idea to them if you have no real business experience or if you don't have the money and resources to pull off an impressive presentation? Well at least one that's good enough for them to take you seriously. Well i don't know how... If I did I'd be there doing and not writing about it. Anyway...
I just can't help but wonder how big the "Graveyard Of The Unfound Greats" are by now? How many "classics" never made it out of our minds, and will there in future be any chance of this becoming a reality?
That my friends is the question I'm sure many of you have asked before or at the least thought about. So I say write down those ideas create those caracters and keep going... One day when I win my billions I'll come looking for those "unfound greats".
Let's see what happens... ![]()
If any "ka-Jilionaire" out there wants to "sponsor" this venture or anyone who actually has some more info into getting your material out there that can assist me and the thousand others out there pls drop us a line...
