It was a certain blessing on Thursday night, as we saw Gloria Reuben, as former Cook County PA Jeanie Boulet, walk back into the doors of the ER the way she did. You could almost hear bells ring, as some of the re-occuring regulars from seasons 1 to present recognized her so well, and fondly. Seeing her again, now, years after she was happily written off with a new husband and a child she adopted, has been very emotional indeed. A long time fan of the show since the very first episode aired, when it aired, I was pleased. Obviously, not all reunions are gold, and this reason for the always calm and collect Boulet to walk through the doors of County was anything but social. Her son, whom she adopted in the early days of the 6th season, was HIV, now, he has hit his head, and more trouble awaits. Before any real fear can emerge, I am quite sure that long standing fans as myself, could surely appreciate hearing the scoop on characters long since gone. Primarily, Doug and Carol, the doctor and nurse in love. We all know we wanted to hear about them again one day, and keeping true to the original characters, it was long time regular Yvette Freeman as her signature character Nurse Haleh Adams, who told both Boulet and the fans how the couple were, and what they were up to. Gosh, it has been a long time, and keeping in the moment of what's happening with the present, one tends to forget how quickly time goes by. I notice this all the time, but reminders such as Jeanie Boulet are a great deal more to telling me how long I've stuck with this show in every season beginning with One. I suppose seeing one of my favorite characters again was also, in a way, unhealthy. It certainly reminded me of the times long since gone, and I certainly began to miss those early days in the shows past, when I was on the edge of my seat, with glee and intrigue, wondering what would happen next. Such times as the 2 hour pilot, airing September 1994 come to mind. The character of Jeanie Boulet was never around until the later parts of the first season but it nonetheless got my memory ticking. I remember the suspense, the power, the emotion, and the bowl of popcorn I made for the occasion. I had been waiting for the show to start for weeks, and it never let me down once it started, not for eight whole seasons. Now, so many years later, I still watch, having evolved with the show and it's newer characters. for me, obviously, those earlier times will always mean more, but the show is still quite impressive, even for 13 1/2 seasons. I suppose I'm even more so just relieved that the writers were careful in depicting the Jeanie Boulet story line. Much of the writing is fairly poor in condition as compared to the earlier seasons, and the characters, minus Luka and Abby are childish and immature. They name call, and goof around, acting nothing professional like the original cast members did. With all that, I was worried about the writers bringing back an old favorite of mine with these revelations. I'm only happy that the return was wonderfully done, and very emotional. A while ago, I noted that Jeanie was exactly who I wanted to see return, and now I have. I guess, in watching Television, we sometimes get what we want.

I just read on tvguide.com that former ER star Gloria Reuben will return to the show for an appearance this season! If this is true I have both joy and concern. The joy is w/ out hesitance. I have missed my favorites for some time. I cannot begin to stress just how much I loved the show upon it's original premiere a ways back in the 1990's I adored every character to the fullest, and Jeanie Boulet was one of my absolute favs. next to Mark and Carol. My heart flutters with delight at the very thought of seeing Boulet once more, for she left on an odd note, many many seasons back. The concern, however, may very well outdo the joy in some areas. The show is nothing like it once was, and I for one have seen it rot over the past season to the lowest point yet, and I don't want to see one of my all time favorite landmark characters taking part on the uselessness of what the series has become these days. The show is still quite good, but I have to admitt that I'm always let down by each passing episode except when it involves Abby. Being the longest running character know, she is the most grounded, and the only interesting character these days. The most recent episode showed Morris to actually have some depth, and total seriousness in him. Well wow! Why haven't we seen this much before. It's quite late in the game for him, but I suppose better late than never. Pratt's a pretty good ting in the show now. He's the longest running next to Abby, having jopined at the tail end of the tragic 8th season. I remember dispising his character once. He's actually much improved now, and carries his own rather well. Still, one other question remains, are ANY of these characters worthy to work alongside the all wonderful Jeanie Boulet...except Abby that is? I have to ask. I hope I'm not the only one here. It's not just Boulet, it's the same thing I would ask were the returning guests to be Clooney and Margulies as well. I was a fan of the originalshow...so to speak. With time, this show has certainly slowed down, and has not been what it once was for quite some time.
Still, this news of Jeanie Boulet is such a gass that I find myself awaiting more from it...and soon, oh so soon!Cheers!

Well, I couldn't agree more witrh Bill Mahar on his show. He speaks the truth in volumes beyond words and volume. Tonight, the episode left me cheering for the writer, his name escapes me, and JOy Bahar from "The View", both of which, could see the republican, name I do not care for, as the seventh grade bully he was. I will certainly watch more of Bill Mahar after this.
As for the prime time dial, "Men In Trees" season 2 premiered tonight. I still quite livid that it suffered the same effect as "Boston Legal" three years ago. It has a success ful run before it's switched time slots and night schedules, and is then totally removed from the weekly lione-up 5 episodes short of it's season one finale. Now, we're stuck watching it during a fridsy night time slot. It's quite a good show, and I look forward to seeing many seasons after this, but damn ABC for messing it's original format up.

Well, the ERseason 14 opener was much so what it should have been, and I'm greatful for that. Being a constant fan for it's entire run, I'd seen some pretty lame times with the show in the past few years, but nothing was a lame as the 13th season. I'm happy to say that it can still deliver a good, interesting episode every once in a while. It will never be the first 8 seasons, but I won't ever expect it to be. Even so, the 9th season managed to keep itself well up to speed with the preceeding years before the 10th season screwed up. Oh well, it's just good fan fun for holding on to now. Other television shows can take precedence. Boston Legalhas had quite a big turn up this season, with new cast members walking on. I was a little concerned at first. i was accostomed to Andea Bowen by the end of the 2nd season, and we all know it was the happiest day of the show when those two little pop-tarts from the season two opener dissapeared, even w/ out explanation, I was happy to see them go. That said, all was fine in Catzenstein while some new faces showed up in season three. I wasn't so accepting at first. I don't understand why David E. Kelley changes the cast every dang season! There's nothing too wrong with it, when the cast is good, and above the age of 35, but still. Some of the characters are acting quite out of character, and that's a little distracting. I want to see more of the loose fun in James Spaders' Alan Shore. He was getting a bit intense in the second episode, and the character of Brad Chase, as portrayed by Mark Valley, is opposing the firm of ehihch he was just employed last season, Poole, Shmidt, and Crane. What's going on? I won't fear too much, It's a waste of good energy. As for other shows this season, I was keen to try out the new FOX show K-Ville, but after a pretty impressive pilot, I was let down heavily by the 2nd episode. I haven't watched it since. Something I would love to check out some time would be the new vampire show Moonlight,or whatever it's called. Oh well, the best in this season is yet to come anyway. Helen Slaterhas filmed 2episodes of Smallvillethis season, and I am psyched about this! It's one of the first major things this lovely actress has done in years, so I will be watching more for that as the time continues to approach.Cheers-

You'd never know it, but I have a soft spot for that once wonderful show that ran on CBS long ago. The one about Catherine Chandler, Assistant DA, and her poetic cat-man with whom she loved a lifetime, before her time. Yes, Beauty & The Beastis the show I speak of. Being an admirer of Linda Hamilton, it's hardly suprising, no? Well, it was a great show, at first. I must stress that the demise of Hamiltons' Catherine was sick! I have never enjoyed the fact that the character was kiddnapped, and taken hostage for 9 months, until she gave birth to a child that was of both she and Vincent, the Beast. Once this happened, her captor had her killed. I really don't know all the details, as I never saw the episode. I was not in the know of the program by the time the dreadful season 3 opener aired. I heard Linda Hamilton was not to be around for the third year, so I split. I never knew about the demise of her character until years later.Talk about what you were better off not knowing...
Anyhow, the first two seasons are availible on DVD now, and I own them both, proudly.

About a week ago, the small town of Metropolis, Illinois, made famous by it's been used in the iconic comic strip, Superman, had an annual celebration of the character Superman, and anything or everything surrounding him. Among the four main celebrity guests was my personal favorite, Helen Slater,of the classic 1980's fantasy film, Supergirl.I was not in attendance, unfortunately, but I have been told plenty of wonderful stories about her appearance, and even watched the 45 minute Q&A with her on youtube. Noel Neil, the original Lois Lane from the 1950's and so on, was also in attendance. I am still, as of one whole week later, almost unable to believe that Ms Helen Slaterfinally came forward to speak on her first major Motion picture role in a positive light. It is, of course, something I had wished for over the years, and this actually proves that dreams can come true, as cheesy as that may sound. What's more, is that, while answering questions from the fans, and having a lovely time doing so, Slater also mentioned that she would be interested in appearing on the Supermanprequel TV series, "Smallville, were she to be asked to do so. I was wondering if she ever would, myself, after having seen Christopher Reeveand Margot Kidder appear a couple years ago. More acting to be seen, and appreciation for her first film, has put Helen Slaterbeyond a status of paragon, and just plain up to GOD in many ways. I have been a fan for years and years, and to see all this coming to pass in it's own place and time is such a wonderful thing to me, and other fans alike. Time will tell who she plays, and how she will play it. Until next time...

Well, exactly a week ago, tonight, I was watching the "Crossing Jordon" episode titled "Seven Feet Under". My reason:Helen Slater appearing. Well, not so much of an appearance, if you want my two cents. She was probably shown the least out of all the guest stars, which, I'll admitt, might have been a good thing...for me. I am still angry with her harsh words about her first film, and hhow she shamelessly said them with that percky smug smile. I, being disapointed in her, was happy to see her victimized by the speculation of the CJ cast, the she killed her daughter. Fans can be so strange. I should know, I am one. In other news, I am taken aback after hearing a spoiler I wasn't expecting for "ER", one detailing the departure of Shane West. Is County General really prepping for another exit? So soon...nevermind that question. When the amazing actress of ER, Laura Innes left the show this season, she said that someone else would be leaving at seasons end...I guess we know who is going now. I actually might have guessed as much about Shane West. he joined the show in the 11th season, and his character hasn't had much do play with in any of the three seasons he been present. Well, he had fun in the 11th season, but I haven't seen much depth since then. I hope his character is given justice. I wish Alex Kingston would return as Dr. Elizabeth Corday. I won't cross my fingers for that, but I'll never say never. As for "Boston Legal" (BL), I am awaiting the returning episode, that deals with a heist of some sort, what's that about? I hope it's not the departure of Mark Valley as Brad Chase. He filmed a Pilot a while back, so I read, and I'd hate to see him go. Speaking of Pilots, both Eliza Dushku, and Julianna Margulies have some pilots lined up. That might be great. To see both of them on TV again, I'd watch, even though FOX happens to be behind both productions. We'll have to wait and see. BEST NEWS YET! There is a confirmed release date for "Dynasty" season 2 DVD! I'll have to check in on it again, but I think it's in June! Can't wait to watch those confrontations with Linda Evans and Joan Collins over and over again w/ Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwiches!

Last night, I could only feel sympathy for the Boston Legal character "Jeffery Coho" played by Craig Bierko. His character was feeling very isolated, and hated. Indeed, he was disliked by many fans. Jeffery Coho soon had an affair with Denise Bauer, and her pregnancy had his commitment card ready, but when it wasn't his child, he was further convinced that he needed out, and he got it. His exit was on a positive note, but I couldn't help feeling sorry for him, as he tried so hard in the beginning, to be amicable and smart in the new setting. I guess it was never easy. His exit was a good go, but it was still a little sad to see. Maybe we'll see him again soon. Maybe...

I am completely satisfied, knowing that the second season of "Dynasty" will be headed for release on DVD this summer, in JUNE, I'm told by tvshowsondvd.com. I couldn't be more pleased. It's only a shame that this wasn't happening back in June of 2006, or even 2005 for that matter. I only hope that a featurette, as in a full length featurette will be present. The first seasons' DVd was very well put together, with some interviews with Pamela Sue Martin and Al Corley on their characters. There were also some commentaries onboard. That said, I can't wait to see what's coming!

Seeing as I frequent BL as much as I can, and that I have done so for it's entire run so far, I will say, the show has gotten so intriguing, even if it has juiced itself by adding Julie Bowens' pregnancy into the show. I hope she stays on the show. I will admitt, I wasn't to keen on her at very first, because I was so used to Monica Potter, but all that is far behind.. I have become accostomed to Julie Bowen now, and I would hate to see her go. I would also hate to see anything alter with the way that Mark valley is. I really like him. His character Brad Davis is a serious no-nonsense person, which makes him funny. His character is the father of Bowens' Denise characters child. I just don't want any departures of serious confrontations anymore. Lord knows I couldn't bare it when Monica Potter left, and those two little bratty characters were introduced. Thank goodness they're gone. Except for Julie Bowen, she came on as Potter departed, but she'd good, so I won't like her leaving. Still, I don't really see any reason why anyone would leave, so I won't jump to any conclusions. Also, I enjoy the regular appearance by Clarence. His first appearance was so bizarre and wack, the show could only show us more of it, and that's what it did. Adding him as i regular was one of the best decisions this season, and I suspect that his case in the nest episode will be awesome to say the least. On another note, last nights episode was great, as they tend to be! I can't wait to see the forthcoming ep. I think it will be great!

I am happy, however, that the "Dynasty" season two DVD will be around soon enough. We know that, I believe in MAY, we'll see the second season of "MP" on DVD too, and I am on the news for that. It's good to see the Daphne Zuniga show in the midst of DVD success.

I was just on the "Dynasty" website titled 'UltimateDynasty.net". I really miss that show. I was a little young when it ran it's course, but somewherein the re-runs that were aired throughout the mid-ninties and on, I was frequenting it regularly on the daily basis. Anyhow, going to the website, as it is now up and running again, has been a wake-up call to how much I haven't watched it in the past few months. That is a real nasty truth, an ugly truth. I still remember the way I would fix the guilty pleasure of PB and J when I was watching it. I usually had to be munching on something good, and appropriate while induldging in a good time. Anyway, I miss that show. I also saw a preview for the returning season of "Crossing Jordon", which, of course, also has me in a bit of anticipation , seeing as Helen Slater guest stars on an upcoming ep. Can't wait til then, although the woman has me in a bitter state after she granted her first feature a disapointment in her eyes. I am pretty sad about her unfortunate feelings toward that. I am getting over though, soon enough. You know, there is still no good TV right now. Re-runs are okay, but I still hate the breaks they take. Whatever happened to the time that shows would have long seasons that stretched to about 34 episodes? "Melrose PL." did itt, and of course, "Dynasty" had a pretty big season order here and there too. That way, there was no real break, just constant drama and camp! Still, even more, the typical fan as myself, was not bored during times like this...

I wish there was morre for my taste on TV these days. I know it's the yultide season and all, but I really do grow tired of some of these christmasy movies that are made-for-TV, along with a bunch of other things that are so old now, such as the Lord Of The Rings films. Sure they're great films, but they're always shown on television around Christmas time, and that's so old news. I am also snoring wide awake w/out any new episodes of the always enjoyable ER, Desperate Housewives, or Boston Legal. BL...I miss that show. I've been watching that show for it's entire run, and I am still goin strong with it. I love all the characters that have been with it since the beginning, and even the newer ones, such as Andrea Bowen. Craig Bierko is a great actor, he is, but I have been somewhat less than amused by his appearance on the show. We already have the quick, witty characters we need, so there's no need for another one. It is funny, however, that Jeffery Coho, and Mark Valleys' Brad Chase are enemies. That's pretty good stuff. I always liked Mark Valley, as his character was a silent, funny type, who was mostly submissive in the first season, but as the series grew, so did Mark Valley allow his character to grow. I also love the pairing of James Spader with William Shatner...and of course, the best pairing of all...is the Shatner withCandice Bergan. I can't wait to see all the comedy and goofiness again after the break is over.
    until then
    merry x-mas !

I am still shocked about the upcoming performance I have yet to see of the divine Ms. Helen Slater in a "Crossing Jordon" episode. I have looked into the details of the episode, and it seems she will be playing a mother again. I guess it's only natural because she is a mother, herself. In any case, it's not something that keeps me from watching my favorite actress, and childhood hero. I think she'll be great in this upcoming ep, as she always is. I guess it's the one thing to be glad about. I'll play the glad game until the ep. airs, and I'll count my blessings.

I am two seconds from writing a love song for the two now long-running characters on ER, Luka and Abby! They have been through so much on the show, and they're still there, still working, still making me smile. Not thast the other cast-members are bad. It really is working well. I suppose it never stopped working at all. I have caught up in the stories that followed through after Mark Greene Died. I am enjoying the role of an ER regulator again, for this whole season, for the first time in a while. I actually started to watch it again last season, when I realized I needed more serious, and dramatic inspirations in life, and then it hit me..."ER" is still on! How is it still on? Are any good characters still appearing? How much longer can it go? I answered all my questions as I caught the later season 12 episodes starting with that "Body and Soul" episode James Woods guest starred on. In any case, I have followed it thoroughly since. I do think they should get a few older characters on there. The show has always been geared more for adults, as I have always interpreted that from when I watched it in it's original first 8 seasons. The Dr. Mark Greene years. Anyway, Goran Visnjic and Maura Tierney are still on, as is Laura Innes, and I still love the three of them well, but it looks like the characters of Luka and Abbey are headed for a rough road, as their relationship will probably be strained in the upcoming eps. I sure hope it's not too serious. In other times of my life...HELEN SLATER will be making another appearance on TV! I'm stoked to the limit! Sure, it's not a film, but it's an acting gig, which are not too often for Ms. Slater in the past six years or so. Her last appearance, or acting gig was on "New Adv. of Old Christine"...where she was the mother of a spoiled brat, but she was really darn funny, and as gorgeous as ever! I suspect we would have already seen her next appearance, but it looks like NBC has pushed the 6th season of CJ into spring...meaning we'll have to wait a few more months until we see it! Argh! I wanna see some more of Helen now! LoL! No, perhaps obsession is a bit extreme, but it will certainly be nice to see another Helen Slater performance again! She has been very active this year...I hope she keeps it up!

I suppose I must post how I thought I felt with the return of "Desperate Housewives", and how I really feel. I thought a few moments in the first ep. of the season were pretty funny. Come the next week, we're given a few new twists, and a new, useless character. I think, at this point, the show is still on the road home from that disasterous second season. I guess I used to think that one could find their way back to a show, after the show has been re-tooled and brought to a better status. I think I'll never like the ABC camp soap ever again. For me, it was one of those deals, where I gave it the one watch I would ever really give it, as it first aired. Once things were too nutty and twisty, I think it jumped the shark...far too high for me to follow as a fan. Now, I see that I was wasting my time with trying to get back into the groove of the show the past three weeks. I only ended up annoyed at some of the same things I usually get annoyed by, and I was often angered by matters that I felt were unjustified. There's no question about it, I just do not see any reason for liking it, and I probably never will again. I seem to be humored by some of it, but I then begin to feel a loathing for it at other times, and the loathing hatred out-does the humor I tend to fee for it during a glance here and a glance there. Too bad, I was really great watching that show once.

Well, I'm eased at the way that Emily Bergl has been doing well with "MEN IN TREES", and the possibilities now that Robin Tunney can do many more films with the departure from "Prision Break". It's a shame that a shadow has been cast upon that new FOX drama "Vanished". Rebecca Gayheart has worked so hard to rise above that bad experience with hitting a kid by accident, and killing him. I certainly blame the kid. Anyhow, she lands a role on a public, prime-time show, and it might be over soon. Sad stuff. The show also featured Ming Na from "ER" seasons past. I never watched the show, but I certainly wished it all the best. I certainly have found a real wonderful presence with the ever-gaining 13th season of "ER". Sure, the show is an enormous 12 years old-but why should that be a reason to condemn it? It's still a good show, in my opinion. I certainly find it to be the same show I always enjoyed when Anthony Edwards and Julianna Marguelies. I do miss those original cast-members, and the way it seemed to be when it was in it's first six seasons, but I still have Laura Innes, Maura Tierney, and Goran Visnjic to feel that familiar comfort, whilst I warm up to some of the newer characters. I only began to watch the show again for the first time in three years late last season. It seems to be a constant love affair with me again. I'm even tuning into "The Office" when I can. Steve Carrell is great! So is the rest of the cast. I thought that Jeff Goldblum had some supernatural show in the works late in April or so. I can wait for that, I guess. I think NBC has it goin on. As for ABC-"Desperate Housewives" is back to basics, but how much damage for me, was done? I feel I can watch the show, and laugh at certain things in this new season, but I just don't like it like I used to. It really took the jump-the-shark situation, and pumped up the volume with it. I personally find the show to be out of control, but that's just me. I'm waiting for ABC to show us "Travelor" with Matthew Bomer and Steven Culp. That might be cool to watch.

I missed the recent episode of "Meni In Trees" last night. I figured the episode would be a re-run of the pilot as it was previewed on Tuesday. I suppose I should be more aware if I want to see Emily Bergl on tv. I hope the ratings are well. I am not too fond of that "Sex in the City" fimiliarity, but the show has it's moments. I'll keep watch.

I am very stoked about ER's new season. Last night the network re-ran the season 12 finale, which turned out to be much more tense than I remembered it being back when it premiered. I can honestly say that I am happy to be watching ER again, on a regular basis. I watched it for so many years during it's first 5 seasons or so. I stuck around, watched some 6,7, and even 8 season happenings. I pretty much fell out of it after that. I have had even more fun, however, catching up on all I missed whilst watching TNT re-runs in the morning. Gosh, I remember when the show first started, and when all the major turning points were in the first six seasons. The show hasn't changed at all, and some of the characters from the six earlier seasons are still on today. I am still watching, still entertained, still pleased.

I have been an admirerer of the talented Emily Bergl for quite a few years now. Certainly ever since she did that terrible sequel to "Carrie". Mind you, I thought the film was pretty bad, but Bergl is very good. She has a whole lotta strength and conviction in her abilities, and I have been scratching my head for the past seven years as to why she has not been given a showcase as big since her big-screen premiere. Well, this fall, "MEN IN TREES" will air on ABC, and Ms Bergl is part of it all. I can honestly say that I have been waiting for this for a while, and that when all is said and done, Ms Bergl will have a good shocase for her again. TV could still be better yet. Robin Tunney has left "Prison Break". There is nothing that will make up for that loss after the fact, but with the Bergl syndrom coming back this fall on ABC, we might have a different remedy in store. We shall see.

I figure it best to look forward to positives and strengths. Bergl will definitely satisfy me. I hope she does so for others as well.
