Lights In The Sky NIN

Well yesterday I was fortunate enough to go see Nine Inch Nails in concert with special guest deerhunter for free. Not only were the tickets free but we were 10 rows from the stage dead center on the floor seating. The band deerhunter opened for a half hour and they were absolutly horrible. Nine Inch Nails played from 8:45 pm to 11:00pm and came out extremly hard all night. I wasnt even expecting them to play that hard at all. It was probally the 2nd best show I have seen this summer. Nine Inch Nails had incredible visual aids, but they still werent as good as the visual artists TOOL.

Heres How I rank the shows Ive seen this summer

Rush-Absoulutly Incredible my third favorite band behind TOOL and A Perfect Circle...Rush played almost a 4 hour set.

NIN with deerhunter

Poison, Sebastian Bach, and Dokken

Stone Temple Pilotes

Going To See 2 more shows for free later this month:

Next week we have Judas Priest, Heavan and Hell aka Black Sabbath without Ozzy, and Testament all playign together

In two weeks we have Motley Crue and Buckcherry

Jeanne D'arc Impressions

Well I got this game yesterday and here are the impressions you all have been waiting for....

The game is basically a strategy RPG, a genre in which I havent explored too much. What you do is attack enemies in the style of a japaneese rpg, but in order to encounter enemies you must strategically position your allies on the game map. The map is broken up into squares and you can only attack enemies in adjacent squares.

The game's story is a mixture of history and fantasy as it tells the story of Joan of Arc who led France to fight the English as a soldier of God during the midevil times. The story is told through anime style cutscenes and text dialouge. The actual gameplay involves traveling throughout France and fighting maps full of enemies in order to save France from the evil 6 year old King Henry the VI who was taken over by an evil demon force and is sending the demons to conquer France. In the game many playable charecters will join your party to help fight, and after playign for only 3 hours or so already 7 people have joined my party.

The game sounds pretty simple but some of teh maps and strategy involved are pretty complex, and I am already starting to loose a few fights here and there. The game is not as hard as a traditional turn based rpg, but it has almost the perfect difficulty. So far I am liking this game alot, but I wouldn't quite say I am loving it. The game doesnt offer as much depth as a typical final fantasy tactics game, but Jeanne D'arc is still a very good psp strategy rpg. Oh yea did I mention I am pretty addicted to it playign all 3 hours today.

Early Score 8.0-8.5 out of 10

Gaming Update 1 for GiantBomb
Well I thought I would do a gaming update blog here for giant bomb, and probally paste it over to gs. As far as gaming goes I have been doing a good amount of it. First of note is that I beat Metal Gear Solid 1 earlier this week. The last boss fight against metal gear took me a good 2 hours on the easy difficulty. Yes, I will be playing through it again on the harder levels. I also started Metal Gear Solid 2 yesterday and played about 2 and a half hours worth. So far I like the first one a little better, but the graphics in the second one are leaps and bounds greater than the first. I was also disappointed to find out that solid snake isn't the main playable character in MGS 2. Overall I am rating the game as of now 4 stars out of 5 or a 8.5/10.

As far as the rest of playstation goes I have been doing a lot of the extra stuff in GTA 4 including vigilante missions and so on. My overall play time in that including online is over 105 hours. I also have been playing a little bit of fifa 08, and i want to play more of it as you all should know that if i am a fanboy of anything its fifa or soccer games in general.

As also earlier in a previous blog mentioned I was playing Turok. I was pretty harsh on the multiplayer aspect of the game but after playing it a lot it has grown on me, partially do to the fact that I am winning nearly every match. I havent played the single player much but I will be moving into that part of the game after I get the 500 player kills achievement for multiplayer. I also have been playing a lot of rock band as I want to finish all the drum tours before I head to college again so I dont have to transport the akward drum set. I am 10 songs into the hard tour. Me and my sis are also very close to finishing all the gigs in band world tour.

As far as the WII goes I have been playing a little bit of Final Fantasy My Life As A King. It is def a different game but it is still pretty enjoyable, and relaxing to play. I still want to play more brawl and mario kart but i havent found the time. I am also working my way throuhg final fantasy III ds and am almost done the game.

Well thats about it.
