16Apr 07I've got a Dollar in my pocket
I'm going to catch myself a bus ride
and go in search of that princess I once lost
hoping she's going to take me back
she'll be mad, this I know
once I swore never to speak to her again
but that was before she unplugged the phone.
I'm going to sleep out in the stars tonight:
watch Halley's Comet walk on by,
see the green grass whistle and bow
to the blowing wind
sense a kiss that's bound to fall upon my lips:
yes, I know she'll take me back.
Children playing out in the yard
watch their feet dance to the merry-go rhyme
hear them sing and smile:
"La-la-de-da, la-la-da-de"
as mother and father returns from the farm.
There's going to be a feast tonight
I'm going to uncase my guitar
already I hear whispers of an unborn child
my lady's going to take me in her arms
we're going to dance the monlight waltz
