Sorry for the belated blog! I've been quite busy and/or lazy recently

WORK
Well my time at Tickhill Road Hospital is drawing to a close so I've been applying for a few permanent jobs that have cropped up at DRI and apparently my boss is putting out a job soon which I can apply for.
One of the Modern Matrons was on Bargain Hunt last week and she was hilarious! For you folk in the UK here's the link – she's called Helen

Her team bought a painted tile so Stevieboy came in on Friday with a bathroom tile painted with flowers and asked Helen if she could value it
She'd just got back from holiday with stories which had us in stitches ^_____^It was also the work Christmas do last night. I've never had a proper job round Christmas so last night was a first for me and it was absolutely fab! We had dinner at the Regent where everyone got a little bit drunk and sang loudly to xmas tunes and got all the other tables of random people joining in
Helen did the best Irish accent pretending to be Louie Walsh and we kind of had an X-Factor play off between the two sides of the table. She was such a laugh and by the main course my cheeks were already aching – it was so nice to be happy again

Afterwards the managers went home and the rest of us hit town. It was ok but town on a Friday is filled with older people and I prefer going on student nights. I planned to drink water through the meal and alcohol when we got into town because I don't like wine and lager would ruin the taste of a meal.
My boss asked what I was drinking and I explained and she heard the word "lager" and ordered me a pint which I trucked through. Then Trish asked if I wanted to try the wine and it has been a fair few years since I last tasted it so I did and it was ok; I wouldn't order wine but I'll drink it if I have to lol. I was wistfully eying up the jug of water on the table, trying to finish my wine so I could have a bit of water and as soon as I finished Lindsey (boss) filled my glass up again!

I had another half pint and 2 vodkas round town but it was so evenly paced that I was fairly sober all night. Got in at 2am exhausted!
HOME
Things at home have been awful so Christmas is effectively ruined. People keep coming round to the house saying my brother owes them money so god knows what he's up to. His druggie mates knocked some of the wall down last weekend and I'm getting so sick of it all that tonight I was close to asking the bloke that had come round for money today if he'd beat my brother up just to try and knock some sense into him.
SOCIAL
Isn't fairing too well either. I'm desperate to meet new people, especially lads but I don't really know where to look. Round town they're either too old or absolute ****heads. I want to meet intelligent guys that have the same interests as me. Even if I see a nice looking guy how am I supposed to meet them? I can't just walk up and say "Hi I noticed you're quite good looking. Did you pass your GCSE's and like computers?" >__>
Still I seem to have filled up my loneliness with buying things like books and DVDs off Amazon. In the words of Chantel, "Amazon is better than any man... Though your goods may sometimes turn up a day late... At least you know you will receive guaranteed satisfaction
" which made me chuckle
For those of you into graphic novels, Mouse Guard arrived and is a fab book

I'm also half way through City of Bones by Cassandra Clare which I found to be a bit cheesy at first but I've really got into it.

I also have 3 Steampunk books sat on my shelf – The Difference Engine, Court of the Air and The Affinity Bridge; if anyone has read these I would appreciate your thoughts on them
I've read Mortal Engines and it's one of my fav books so I thought I'd indulge in more Steampunk novels. I've also bought myself a pair of Vans which I adore:

Chantel laughed when I showed her what I made the other day and said "Is this the sort of stuff you get up to when I'm not round?"
It's an old MP3 player that stopped working so I ripped the casing off and it suddenly worked again (but only as a flash drive) so I encased it in Lego, leaving space for the screen to go blue when it's plugged in

My desktop wallpaper at work for winter:

Was the dress I wore for the work do. You can't see much of it in the pics but it's ivory with black lace top, a black studded midriff sash and black silk down to knee length

And finally a question to you lot: Where are you from and how cold is it? It's ****ing freezing over here!
And on a final final note:

Nearly forgot to write a blog this month! Well stuff has been happening I guess so here goes.
PROGRESS

WORK
Is going pretty well, it's nice having money to be able to randomly buy things
Also me and Chantel have our share of giggles. We stamped our arms with Private and Confidential and for some reason I really want it as a tattoo. Fortunately I'm not that stupid

I think I'm addicted to buying cheap books from Amazon and I've ordered a print from DeviantART that I've wanted since forever lol! Still waiting out on that TV, mum wants to look around properly before I go spending hundreds of pounds on one.

This is the print. It's a little emo but I fell in love with it about 5 years ago so I had to get it

HOME
I've had my lip pierced for those of you that didn't know already
My boss wasn't too pleased but I'd racked off 70 referrals in one morning to take the edge off the lip thing.I don't really like this photo much but here goes

Much prefer this one which I'm now using as my avatar for pretty much everything (apart from on here, nothing will replace the loaf of bread cat!)

SOCIAL
Me and Hero broke up last Saturday. I still love him to bits and miss him but it just wasn't working out as a gf/bf relationship. I wish I could just go to being best mates with him but it doesn't work like that. I haven't been going out much recently and although having 3 good friends around after just getting out of 6th form is good, I still sit at home feeling lonely a lot.
Yesterday Chantel picked me up and we went shopping for stuff she needed to cook her bf a meal with that night. Apart from that I haven't had any other social contact this weekend which is a bit depressing.
And as for Halloween, I stayed in playing TF2 and drinking. A few months ago that would've been a fab night in but nowadays I just want to go out.

Oh I went to see Franz Ferdinand a few weeks ago which was fab! The lead singer is soo fit ^_______^
Last Friday I went to see Green Day. In all honesty I went off Green Day a few years ago and haven't listened to them much but they were the best gig I've ever been to. They didn't just do music; they put on a show. Billie Joe really knows how to command a crowd

The arena was packed but I thought we got really good seats

I've been playing a lot of TF2 and have found I do best as a sniper
I pre-ordered L4D2 the other day so the game of the month has to be that as the demo is awesome!
★Trailer★

I was watching Fight Club the other day - forgot how awesome this film is

Thanks to Amazon I've been buying all the books I used to read at the library when I was younger

I wrote this for Chantel at work but I don't think she appreciated it much:
Friday afternoon
All the staff shouting hurray
The woodlouse dances
Right...um bye!

PROGRESS

Well it's been a much less exciting month but I've still got a few things to bore you guys with

WORK
The temp job is going really well, I've made a few friends and the tasks are varied enough so I don't get too bored. It's been extended until Christmas so I can afford to buy myself a PSP, the tattoo and some more clothes! Only thing is it isn't permanent so I hope something crops up in the meantime

HOME
As you might know I've had my hair cut a few weeks ago – I've got a thin fringe and it trimmed. This weekend I'm having a thicker fringe cut in, it heavily layered long at the front and short at the back coming down to the top of my shoulders/bottom of neck. I like the look of longer hair but I'm just sick of it and it'll grow back quick if I don't like it short

I know I look really young here but most photos make me look young anyway so meh

It's my mum's 40th next week – she's old!
I'm gonna bake her some of my homemade flapjack, drizzled in white chocolate and with white chocolate buttons around it. I found some candles that spell out FORTY so I'm gonna pop those on top
She loves white chocolate, I bake fab flapjack – sorted! And on another note I've gotta sort out my taxes – grr! I've been taxed since that temp job in August so I've got a hell of a job claiming everything back. And the tax office is only open Monday – Friday, 9-5...you know, when I'm at work
I've heard you can do it online but I've yet to check it out. Why can't getting paid be really simple?SOCIAL
Since turning 18 I've been to the pub a few times on a Friday night. Last week I went with Chantel (a mate from work) and Danny (childhood mate) – it was really good
I was only planning on staying for a few drinks but ended up getting home at 1am! I've decided though that I'm sick of feeling rough on Saturdays and it kinda ruins my day with Hero so I'm gonna lay off the pub for a while...maybe

Flash Forward! I caught the first episode a few days ago and it's wicked - can't wait for the next one

I bought the new Muse album on Amazon and saved 4 quid so I spent 4 quid on Derren Brown's book, Tricks of the Mind. My mate had it a while ago and I read a bit on memory and thought it might be useful as I'm crap at remembering things. I've been reading a little each day and it's so well written! An amusing read, I'd definately recommend it

Gotta be Uprising by Muse - love it!❤

Has to be my current desktop background. I want to see the Northern Lights one day

I dreamt a couple of days ago that there was a flood and huge waves. News story today? A ****ing tsunami o_O Holy crap I can dream the future *is all spooky*

The new Muse album
I pre-ordered it on Amazon on Saturday and chose free delivery which is 3-5 working days. So I expected it to arrive anytime between the next Wednesday to Friday. Tuesday, the day after the release and it arrives! So chuffed with that! ^______^

PROGRESS

WORK
I now work full-time as an admin temp at Tickhill hospital in Balby
It's great, the tasks I have to do are varied enough so I don't get bored and the people are really nice. I'll be working there til October but afterwards I hope to get a job in the NHS permanently until I'm 25ish and can get into the police force.HOME
Have you heard of one million giraffes? http://www.olahelland.net/giraffes/
It's a website where you submit a hand drawn/crafted giraffe – they're hoping to get 1 million entries by 2011!
Here's my giraffe: http://olahelland.net/giraffes/?id=17498
I've also been working on mine and Hero's website for the last day or so: http://tofu-hero.com/
A Sims 3 review is up which I wrote last night

I've had my hair cut – a fringe cut in and it trimmed and layered. It looks ok but it'll look even better when I go to the hair dressers early October (was the first appointment I could get!) and have it cut short at the back to go into a little pony tail and the fringe have more weight on it (so you can't see my forehead) and it layered around the sides

I rearranged my room today so my bed is where my desk was and vice versa. I'd switched everything off before plugging cables back into my computer and when I switched it on – BAM! The power supply bust. I've only had it for a couple of months so hopefully I can get it replaced for free. I'm also gonna buy a surge protector which I've been meaning to get for ages. I'm using my old power supply atm but it doesn't even have enough space on it to plug my DVD drive and fans in

SOCIAL
Hero got swine flu recently so I couldn't see him for 2 whole weeks
If I get ill then I'll lose my job and since I work in a hospital it's even worse. Still, he's fine now and I haven't got it!Here are some extra holiday photos I nabbed from Mehregan's camera:

Me at the airport in Connor's hat

Me and Hero on our balcony at night...

...and during the day

All 3 couples lmao

It was my 18th birthday on the 5th August
I opened my awesome presents in the morning and then went out to lunch with my family. In the evening I went to Hero's house and we had a couple of mates round. I had a fab day

Presents!

Amazing cake made by Aunty B!

And it had a photo of me on the back when I was a nipper

I also got my a-level results back last week:
A2 Photography – B
A2 Psychology – B
AS Citizenship – B
AS Sociology – A
Plus my C from AS Art last year
I was really chuffed with the results, I was unsure about whether I'd got a C in Psychology, let alone a B!I went to a results party that night in Epworth which was ok, and then to another one that Saturday in Stainforth which was amazing! I drank 5 beers, 1 pear cider, 1 shot of apple sours , 1 shot of absinthe and 1 gas chamber. I usually have up to 4 beers so I got v.drunk that night and had lots of merriment!

Crayon Physics Deluxe
I wrote a feature about it on tofu-hero.com

Season 1 is over! I nearly cried when it ended - Thursdays just aren't the same anymore

Nothing beats sleek and geeky

My gorgeous new jacket - 13 quid from Primark!

You get the little fuzzy bird shown in the earlier lolcat picture if you reach the end of this blog :3

PROGRESS

WORK
Early this month I did a data processing job. I'd done it a couple of years before - my mate James' cousin runs it so I get offered a place each year. This year was really fun, I spent time with James, Nathan and Tommy and we had a good laugh
The job only lasted 2 days as we finished all the work but I was quite relieved cause it's really tedious just putting 0 or 1 and ENTER into a computer =_='' I still haven't got a payment through which is quite worrying so that's just another thing on my plate to sort out!I also did a temp job at the NHS a few weeks back. It was supposed to last 2 weeks but I was on holiday for the last week - another relief as the job was filing and also quite tedious! I got on really well with my co-workers which made me realise something. When I quit the pizza shop my confidence was rock bottom - no-one there liked me...I've never been particularly liked at school but I thought things would change when I got into work and they didn't. I was really worried that nothing would ever change and even when I got into the police I'd be unhappy. But it wasn't that at all - it was the stupid teen workers at the pizza shop, not me. Everyone at the NHS was aged late 20's to early 50's and they were fab!
I've just filled in some time sheets and I'll have to sort out this P45 thingy - getting paid isn't as straight forward as I thought!FUN
I went to a gig with Amy and Pippa mid July and it was AMAZING! It was awesome spending time with them - I've never really had girl mates before and it's great to finally have some
We all dressed up pretty gothy as Birthday Massacre sounded like that kind of band! I got back home at 2am and woke up at 7am to start that NHS temp job...that was fun lol

We also saw Raggedy Angry and I loved their influence of retro games in the music!

The bassist reminded me of a chubbier, punkier version of Hero lol
We met the band afterwards - got some photos and they signed our tickets

Lmao the front of the ticket violates Photobucket's terms of use cause the lead singer drew a penis

I also got one of their t-shirts:

Here's a web cam shot of me wearing it to put in my 10k post party:

Which brings me swiftly onto my next subject - I finally hit 10k!

Link to the thread - don't post though or you'll get a moderation
HOLIDAY
I got back from a week in Bulgaria yesterday - I went with my mum, her boyfriend, my brother, his best friend and Hero. It's a first as I usually just go away with my family. It was amazing getting a week with Hero in the sun - we even had our own room ^____^ The hotel was fab and the beach was literally next door! I don't like spending more than 10 mins lying in the sun so I picked up a light tan rather than a proper one - Hero's only been on holiday once before when he was 5 and he's really pale anyway so we didn't overdo it and he's picked up a healthy glow

We arrived at 4am local time so we unpacked and headed down to the beach to watch the sun rise. I've never watched the sun rise before, let alone with a partner so it was nice and romantic
I got some crappy pics on my camera phone:

This was the view from our balcony:
To the left:

The beach and a football pitch

To the right:

The town - Obzor
I also took this photo at dusk one night:

We were on the top floor in some of the best rooms so our balconies were open

The pool:

You know how us Brits have the Spar shop? Over in Bulgaria they have Sparm lol

Hero decided to try out all the weird flavoured crisps like Paprika and we ended up loving these Star Snack bacon flavoured crisps - I hate meat flavoured crisps but those were gorgeous! We bought tons of packs back with us :3
I'll get the photos off Mehregan's (mum's boyfriend) camera asap and post them in the next blog!
We usually had a few drinks in the evening every day (hurray for all-inclusive!) On Tuesday night Matt (brother), Connor (best mate) and Hero drank loads of Tequilas and even I tried my first one! Matt snorted salt off the table for 10 lev between us and it was the funniest thing I've seen in a while
Some French guy saw and started talking to us. He knew as much English as Hero knew French so we kind of got by and saw him on some nights after that
On Wednesday Hero woke up and was sick which I pinned down to the alcohol but when he hadn't stopped by that afternoon we realised it was sun stroke. The poor sod was shut away in the room for the day and I (the bikini clad nurse) checked in every few hours, got more water etc. So that wasn't a fun day for him but at least it got him out of the sun.
Neither of us burnt because we were careful with sun tan but we often forgot to wear sun hats which led to Hero's sun stroke and me burning my scalp in a line where my parting was - that's still painful!
Oh and on the first day I hadn't slept in a day, my legs had been inactive sat on the plane and travelling and I decided to go for a swim in the sea with Hero. Bad idea - I went to put my feet down and the bottom wasn't there and so my legs stretched too far and BAM! One of them cramped - it was by far the most excrutiating cramp I've ever had and my head started to go under the water. Luckily Hero was at hand to lift me up and carry me to shore like...well, a Hero
Usually cramps wear away and I'm fine but I hobbled about for the rest of the day as my leg was that stiff =_=''On another note we buried each other in the sand:

And we went out on a peddle boat on one of the days to find that there were jellyfish beyond the swim markers. They were clear and some were huge!

So we decided to return the next day with nets and buckets to catch them but we couldn't find any nets in the shops so we hired the peddle boat and scooped them out the water with my brother's sun hat. We didn't have any buckets either so we thought it would be funny to put them down the slide on the boat and you know what? It was funny

All in all the holiday was a great laugh
I miss Hero already but I'm looking forward to seeing him on my 18th birthday which is in 3 days now (on Wednesday) - woot!
MONTHLY BLOG STUFF

PROTOTYPE! Not much to say other than it's ****ing awesome!

By Rache Engel on DeviantART. He was one of the first people I ever followed and I'm buying one of his prints for my birthday with I've loved for 4 years now ^____^ Hero wants a bear onesie like this :3
Sorry for another huge blog, my life shouldn't be this exciting from now on!

WORK
Well I've quit my part-time job at the Pizza shop because I just wasn't very good at it and the manager handled it in totally the wrong way, instead of helping me out he stuck me working only 1 half shift a week when the other girls were getting up to 2 full ones. For the sake of 15 quid a week I'd rather be unemployed for a while so I can find a job with more hours

I've been on the job websites everyday, handing out CVs locally etc. Littlewoods near KFC looks promising as all the students go back to uni in 4-6 weeks!
My exams are over now - all of them went quite well and although I hardly think about results day, I've had a lot of dreams where I either get As or Ds which is frustrating when I wake up and believe it for a second
Even though I cut things quite short, when I eventually get revising I really focus. Here's me and Hero revising for our Psychology papers

I thought the synoptic was gonna be rock solid and panicked for a few days before but it went really well
I went to Hero's house after (as it's closer to college and I'd have to wait 5 hours for my bus to arrive to take me home) and we relaxed all afternoon:
(Oh yeh he had his hair cut a while ago - I showed the best pic I had of the last time he had it done to the hairdresser but the bloke cut his hair REALLY short!
He looked about 10 when he came out which I found funny
And suddenly he gets asked for ID to buy cigarettes now lol)HOME
I found my old mp3 player the other day - it switches on but is kind of bricked so it doesn't really work. After plugging it into my computer and it saying it won't let me do anything (like format it) because I don't have permission I decided to rip the casing off. Plugged it in again and it works as a 512mb flash drive now
I wanna make a case for it, any ideas?
I want a hole cut out for the screen cause it looks pretty when it's plugged in:

I think a NES controller case would look cool but the 'flash drive' is only 9cm from tip of the USB connecter to end. So I'd need a mini NES controller and something that could cut plastic for the screen

Oh my conclusion with this thing is that buttons are evil and one of them must've been poking in the wrong place and taking the casing off removed the buttons and allowed the flash drive to breath

I've also got into sewing! I started off by hand stitching this out of an old t-shirt that doesn't fit me anymore:

I painted the teeth on with acrylic. I thought it was quite good for a first attempt at sewing ever!
I made this next:
This one was stitched inside out and is filled with proper plushie filler
Finally I've started making these:
I'm gonna be going to a Steampunk party soon but I don't wanna wear Victorian stuff and I joked about saying I should go as a Steampunk Misty and everyone thought that was a good idea. This is my outfit:

I've already got the socks, shorts, trainers, vest and goggles:

The colour scheme is black and grey and the only wristband glove thing I've got is purple and black so I made my own out of the rest of that old t-shirt. It took me all day because I don't measure much, I just pin and cut and pin again to make sure it's the right fit. I'm surprised I didn't stab myself putting my hand in a glove with pins sticking out of it

I'm gonna cut cog shapes out of an old white t-shirt I've got and sew them on

Speaking of things hand made, I found a 40p notebook from Tesco and I had a cool idea to ink 'Death Note' on the front with my silver marker - here's the result

It's only a mini one measuring 10.5cm x 15.5cm and I went back to the Tesco and they don't stock them anymore which is a shame cause I was gonna make one for all my mates with little messages in them like "Good luck at uni" etc

I'm going on holiday with Hero and my family from the 24th of July for a week - to Bulgaria (hot part!), can't wait!
I've never been on holiday with a boyfriend before so it should be great
I'm also 18 in 5 weeks!
Pros:
Will be finally old enough to buy alcohol and old enough again to buy cigarettes (they changed the law a month after I turned 16!). I have loads of different stuff planned - I wanna go snowboarding at X-Scape, have sleepover with James, Josh and Tommy, have a party at Tommys, have a party at Heros, go out round town with Danny & my skateboarding mates and go to the pub with my main mates
It's gonna take up a good week!Cons:
I'll never be able to listen to Dancing Queen by Abba, I Saw Her Standing There by The Beatles or Seventeen by Winger and pretend they're about me ever again

I've given tofu-hero.com a complete revamp - there's new content, new appearance and new (more likeable) forums! If people could check out the site that would be great, podcasts are also gonna resume again soon. If you have any news or reviews then send them to tofu-hero@live.co.uk as we find it difficult to produce tons of content between two people!

As for gaming I'm really into L4D atm - my Steam is tofulion91 if you want to add me
I also picked up a copy of the Sims 3 which is good but I'm already bored of it! A good way of testing out the strengths and limitations in Sims games is to try and build an exact replica of your house - I've finished mine and screenshots will be up of tofu-hero.com soon

Oh and I was gutted to hear that MJ died, they'll never be another like him

Thoughts go out to his family x
LOVE/SOCIAL
I went to Hero's a couple of weeks ago and for the first time brough my computer - it took about 3 trips to the car to get everything in so it was a pain but it was fab having it with me - we played L4D over LAN...LAN party! Lol
Well we were gonna have a mini one actually but Shaun couldn't bring his PC round so we left it.
We also made smartie cookies which were delicious

MONTHLY BLOG STUFF

Has to be the painting I did last week - I haven't painted in over a year so I thought I'd do some since I love it

It's based off this photo I took on holiday last year:

I'm addicted to the Beatles at the moment and although I've got a lot of favourites, Hey Jude is the one I listen to most. It's perfect
I'm also accompanying my Beatles addiction with a spot of Abba (my old favourites alongside Queen). My favourite song atm is Chiquitita.I'm going to see this band called Birthday Massacre with Amy and Pippa next month so I thought I'd look up some of their stuff - they're ok actually, I expected to hate them. My favourite song is Blue.

How is everyone?

I'm totally smitten with Simon Baker from the Mentalist! I love that show, haven't missed a single episode since it started
I want to watch the Guardian but I don't know when it's on and the internet just shows the American times.

And finally, the word of the month is aubergine. Bye guys!

I should really make a concious effort to blog and comment again...
Well I have my computer back...my motherboard failed and I wanted L4D so long story short, I have a new:
- Motherboard
- Graphics card
- Power supply
- Ram (2gb)
- Case
Got it back today to watch the next bit of E3 and shoot some zombies later...
Right!

MICROSOFTWell E3 kicks off with Microsoft. They introduced a new system - Natal, which looks pretty cool
Dunno how the price will be but hey...When I first heard of Microsoft introducing motion control I thought I'd look something like this:

Jokes aside, Natal looks sweet.
On the downside, they're putting Twitter, Facebook and Sky movies onto the x-box. Unnecessary add-ons really...if you want to watch movies, flick over the channel, because I'll assume you need a Sky box to watch them.
GAMES
I right squealed when they showed L4D 2. The trailer looks awesome and the chainsaws bring a Dead Rising feel into things
In any case, I'll so be getting this for PC when it comes out!
Tony Hawks ride looks awesome as well with the new skateboard peripheralAs a skater I've looked into some skate games that use the board peripheral but they were clunky and didn't seem to work very well. This new peripheral looks streamlined and fun to use. Shame I don't have an x-box

Rock Band The Beatles looked ok, I like The Beatles but a whole game for them? Hmm... the trailer looked nice though! Nice chilling game and I like the addition of more than one singer - although they only join in every so often.

I'm not into the MGS series but Microsoft are bringing out Rising, a game where you apparently play as the guy no-one likes

NINTENDONintendo had Cammy again this year... she bragged about the sales of the Wii Fit. It only sold because it comes with a board that you can beat her to death with
I've been told the board can also be used as a dinner tray (dad's use for it at least). They're bringing out a new Wii Fit which hasn't changed much on the original - there is maths involved though which is lame.
Also is the introduction of Wii Motion Plus...wait did I say introduce? I mean cover something they introduced last year. Something which the Wiimote should have been able to do from the start...

Then there's the scary Vitality sensor. This thing clips onto your finger and measures vital signs. It apparently helps you relax but I see nothing relaxing about that oddity

They're selling us something from hospitals...yeh
I'll cry if that thing actually sells! You can now also upload DSi photos onto Facebook...OR you can not waste your money on that thing and take a picture with your phone or camera instead o_O
It's all unnecessary awkwardness. Like the DSi itself - ooh it can take low res pictures and add funny filters on them! You can easily run a photo through Photoshop, Picasa or some other program to add stupid filters that no-one cares about.
GAMES
The games leave much to be desired as well... they've brought out a new Mario that looks exactly the same as the DS one, except you can awkwardly run about with your friends. Meh

Golden Sun looks ok and the new Mario Galaxy looks fab.

I'm not a Metroid fan but there's a new one coming out which I've heard mixed reactions about.
SONYSony wins E3 hands down. The opening was funky, stylish and had an awesome soundtrack!
After the boring numbers bit the conference really hit off...
They introduced the "worst kept secret" PSP Go which looks incredibly uncomfortable...

It's too small and when slid out it looks pretty ugly if you ask me. Still we can forgive Sony for that, with their line-up of new features and games.
They are also jumping on the motion control bandwagon which made me facepalm when they mentioned it...leave the crappy motion control to Nintendo. Still they wowed me with the footage of it - I was skeptical at first because when Ninty first revealed their motion control it looked like it worked then didn't...but this actually looks like it will work.
The controller was a bit odd and it's something I wouldn't be interested in getting. The demo shown looked ok, quite fun, a bit quirky. The bit that wowed me was the bow and arrow - it looked amazing! But seriously getting it for gameplay? We'll see...
GAMES
The games list that Sony went through has finalised my decision to buy a PSP (Go can **** right off though!).
Little Big Planet for PSP will be fantastic - the game is great but it'd be nice to take it on the go. Also Fat Princess is a game I really wanna play but now Hero's PS3 has broke I won't get the chance...but no, it's coming to PSP!

I'm so hyped for these two portable titles

Also Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time looks brilliant - I love R&C! The new game looks fab - nothing more to say

We'll also see the release of Gran Turismo 5 which looks good, apart from the 1st person inside the car view which blocks off a lot of the view of the track...
They're also bringing GT to PSP which would be nice. I love GT even though I haven't played it since the PS1!

Uncharted: Drake's Fortune 2 is coming out. The trailer looked beaut - I've never played Uncharted but I heard a lot about wet t-shirts and want to play it!
Sony has also unveiled a Metal Gear Solid game - Peace Walker. It seems they've champed over Microsoft as their game seems to stick to the whole idea of MGS - Solid Snake.
Also Hero wanted me to mention FF7 for PSP and PS3. I guess you can already get PS1 titles onto PSP/PS3 but the official release of FF7 has got fans *cough* Hero! squealing.
Overall the Sony conference was by far the best, followed by Microsoft with Nintendo trailing behind...

Well that was quite a long break! A lot has happened - me and my Dad are back on speaking terms and he'll transfer all the money when I'm 18
So that's sorted out now.Me and Braindead_hero have been going out a year in 11 days
We made a cake to celebrate our 11 month anniversary:
It's a sponge cake with fizzy Haribos in the mixture which caramalized in the oven, melted chocolate and M&M's over the top of that
Enough to give anyone diabetes overnight! My photography deadline was today and I think I've done ok by filling 2 sketchbooks and going into a 3rd when I know a lot of people still struggling on their first
Here's my final pieces inspired by Paul.M.Smith:

I really like doing clone pictures atm
Here's some more I've done at home:
I've noticed they've finally made the forums all new and shiny and too big for my screen!
Hopefully I'll be getting a normal sized monitor from my uncle sometime
Oh and my email got hacked the day before yesterday
The guy reverted me - he found out my name by running my MSN through the social networking sites, found out how old I was, sent me a picture on MSN and stole my IP. He then ran that through a locator to get my postcode. Then he entered all this info into a Windows Live form and got a password reset link sent to his address. He was only interested in stealing my Habbo account but to be safe I've got a new email with fake details and assigned this new one to all the sites I use. I've been going on Habbo since I was about 14 and over the years I reckon I've spent £40/50 in little £3 doses from my top-up. I'm a bit gutted everything's been nicked but it's made me finally quit the site and start afresh in MSN.
This computer bodge up also allowed me to get closer to my dad as I rang him up in tears asking what I should do. Tbh I was really scared that someone knew my name and where I lived! I'm also very happy with the responses from Windows Live and Habbo when I explained what had happened. Even if nothing comes of this I'll be fine
Anyways I'm back on Gamespot people! I've missed you lot
I'll probably not blog on here or check blogs and just go on the forums as it got to the point where I spent 20 minutes each night just commenting on blogs. You guys sure do blog a lot
To check out what's happening in the world of Tofu Lion head across to my site www.tofu-hero.com as I keep that vaguely up to date with blogs and of course the podcast. We also have forums up and running if you wanna chat

As you've probably noticed I've not been around much recently. There's lots of stuff going on right now and I feel like I need to take a break. I've been doing lots of shifts at work, college work and haven't got much time for Gamespot nowadays.
Braindead_hero's back is better but my dad replied to my email saying he's devastated with what I've said (about not seeing him anymore). I know I have all the right to be angry (especially since he STILL won't give me my trust fund after all that was said) but he is my dad at the end of the day and I hate hurting people so I feel terrible. I haven't replied - I don't think I can.
On a lighter note we've done a new podcast and I think it's the best one in a while - I was really in a podcast mood.
Me and Braindead_hero drew the winner of the competition today. I got a video clip of it on my phone (we used a random number generator on Shaun's calculator). It's uploaded to zSHARE (download only I'm afraid) if you wanna check it out.
(It sounded really loud when I played it but I dunno how loud your speakers are so I'd advise just turning them down a tad just in case! Oh and sorry about the crappy quality! And it's download only btw: I couldn't get it to work directly off zSHARE)
On a totally different subject I'm really glad Obama won, I just hope he lives up to the high expectations of him!
I don't know how long I'll be off Gamespot for but we'll continue to do podcasts and work on the site so keep checking back to:

Hey well things are going rather crap atm
When I was born I had a trust account set up for me and both my mum and my dad contributed to it - there was 6k in it. They both agreed when I was 17 it would mature and I'd set up my own bank account and take control of it. I could learn to drive from it and put a deposit on a flat or something. My mum and dad divorced when I was 5 and it was agreed that he'd pay less maintenance to maintain my trust account. He was an idiot and put it in an account that would gain no interest in 17 years - so what should be 10k is still only 6.
I asked him about the fund the other day and he said if I wanted to book 10 lessons to drive then he'd transfer a couple of hundred quid to my account for me to use. He basically wants to control what I can and can't do with my own money. For him to have control means he must've withdrawn all my money and put it in an account under his name - which means I can't get access to it.
My mum was furious with him for doing that, it was agreed on the divorce that I'd get the money at 17. I think he knows I'm starting to see him less and less. If I stop seeing him altogether then he'll run off with all the money. So basically he's bribing and controlling his own daughter into seeing him.
He lost his job a couple of weeks ago and legally doesn't have to pay any maintenance anymore. He has a big house, loads of flat screen tvs and 2 motorbikes (one of which cost him 11k). And he claims he's skint. I don't trust him with my fund, I think he's going to dip into it to keep his lifestyle going. When I told him that he sounded upset but it's the truth. I can't believe that 6k means more to him than his own daughter.
I've always had problems with self esteem and this is just another knock to it. The fact that my dad would rather have 6000 pounds than his own daughter. I emailed him saying if he doesn't transfer it then I'm never seeing him again. He hasn't emailed back. We're going to a solicitors this Wednesday.
My mum told me when her and my dad were married he wanted to buy a new wetsuit that cost 200 pounds. I'd just been born and mum was struggling to pay for nappies. She said they couldn't afford it and he went out behind her back and bought it anyway. Just shows what kind of a person my dad is.
On another sad note Braindead_hero's ill and might have to go into hospital
So I've been worrying a lot these past few days. I'm having a crap time at college, my psychology teacher had a go at me and everyone picks on me in sociology. I don't even wanna go anymore, this second year just hasn't been fun at all. It's the half term and due to oversleeping I've been feeling really fed up

Braindead_hero's coming round tomorrow so he'll cheer me up and we'll get the podcast done. The competition is still on if anyone's interested.
I found one of my old paintings (watercolour) - thought I'd share:
Thanks for reading, tofu x

Hey guys, I'm really sowwi I haven't been on GS much
I've been living at Braindead_hero's for the last couple of days, only coming home to go to work. I'm catching up on your blogs as we speak
We haven't recorded a podcast this week - we've been too busy making the t-shirts today

The competition question is on last weeks podcast (which I haven't mentioned on GS yet!) LINKAGE
Me and Braindead_hero also purchased a proper domain name for our site which is: www.tofu-hero.com
Here's the logo on the front of the t-shirt:
Front:

Back:

(For obvious reasons the competition winner will not have 'staff' painted on their shirt!)
Remember to send your answers to tofu_hero_cast@live.com!
If you live in the UK then we'll pay full P&P - if you live in America you'll have to make up the difference. God knows how that's gonna work but hey
If I'm feeling nice and have lots of money from work then I might pay it - depends how much it comes to. But we'll worry about that later
If we get no entries then the t-shirt will go to marktop, for his dedication to the site and helpful information. Thanks marktop!

Oh and the t-shirts might look simple but from start to finish (from penciling the design on to the final thing) took around 3 hours. And I still have the 3rd one to paint tomorrow >_>
EDIT: THE PODCAST IS UP AND RUNNING NOW, YOU HAVE TO DOWNLOAD IT IN WMA - SOWWI!

Braindead_hero's computer crashed after we'd just recorded this weeks podcast so me and him recorded a minicast. This weeks podcast was really boring so we just re-recorded all the interesting bits so even you guys that have a short attention span can listen this week

We went out to town on saturday and I bought a new outfit and a nice necklace for 15 quid. I love Primark. I know it's immoral to buy clothes from them but it's just so cheap and has some nice stuff in
Whilst I was trying them on Braindead_hero spotted some jeans - 6 quid each and a top for 3 quid so he got 2 pairs of jeans and the top - all for 15 quid
Up until now he's worn really scruffy clothes but now he's seen how cheap Primark is he says he's prepared to go back and get some decent stuff
Here's a pic of us looking all snug in our new clothes:
He's also needed a hair cut for ages so we popped into a hair dressers and he had it cut for a fiver - I said it's an early Christmas present for him
It's amazing what a difference a hair cut and some new clothes makes - he looks stunning! And his confidence has really boosted which is great
So after some retail therapy we both went back and made some flapjack (no that's not an innuendo!)
Here's him just after he got his hair done (it's fuller once its dry!)

Btw he always pulls a face when I'm trying to take pics of him

I had quite an adventure today which made me appreciate the **** dinner ladies have to put up with. They're the forgotten heroes of society; they give people food AND clean up after you. We get practically waited on but the dinner ladies never get any appreciation. Not one hug. So I've devoted this blog to the dinner ladies, to explain my adventure through Paint and open everyone's eyes as to how awesome dinner ladies are (well most of them!)

Firstly there are two types of dinner lady - the fat jolly one and the grumpy skinny one. Sometimes the fat ones can be mean and the skinny ones are great but generally it's fat=jolly, skinny=mean.

Here's an example:

(That's a broom in her hand btw)

Ok now for the adventure. First up me and Braindead_hero went to get some food.

No chips! It wasn't even lunch time yet. Luckily I'd already had a toastie and wasn't hungry but Braindead_hero needed food. An idea occured!

So he settled on some Monster Munch. But everyone's worst nightmare happened.

It got caught in the corner and wouldn't come down! We were all much to weak to shake the vending machine so I decided on a police st.yle 'shoulder down the door'.

It moved at one point but wouldn't fall. My shoulder started to hurt so I gave up. Whenever someone came to the vending machine we tried to convince them to buy Monster Munch to try and knock it down. We even bought all the chocolate underneath to try and push it forward but still no sucess.
Then some boy bought a pack of Monster Munch and gave it to us! I think he was totally smitten with Braindead_hero (whose sexiness is backed up by the fact a dinner lady called him a little devil the other day!)

So essentially we had the pack of Monster Munch and could leave the trapped one there. But I was committed now. I was determined that vending machine wouldn't beat me. The dinner lady had come across and said they didn't have the keys, they'd asked the college before and they wouldn't let them. She said she didn't like the way things were run either. Hurrah for the rebellious dinner ladies! Anyway I was explaining the situation to someone and demonstrated how I was shouldering the vending machine in an attempt to get the crisps down. I heard a cheer from a few students and...

I got them! Tofu-lion 1, Vending machine 0
Anways back to the dinner ladies. We were back up at the counter seeing if they had any chips in yet and there was a guy there hasselling the dinner ladies. He was trying to nick stuff and wouldn't budge.
The dinner ladies were asking him politely to leave but he wouldn't and was holding up the que. So I leaned across and said "Oi! Stop being a hooting [rhymes with rickhole]! **** off so we can get some food!". At which point he responded with "Suck my ****" but left anyway. I told the dinner lady she should just give him a good kicking and she said "I wish I could!". Poor dinner ladies. They do put up with some right people. I liked how he got told off for swearing yet my colourful language was overlooked. I think if the dinner ladies ever formed an army I'd be leading them

So the moral of the story is that dinner ladies are people too. People that put up with a lot. So next time you see a dinner lady, give them a hug

Here's a picture of Monster Munch for horseyjesse:

You can only buy them in the UK, Republic of Ireland and France though

Hey guys I've either been at work or out these past few days so I've missed lots of your blogs >_> I'll go and catch up on the last two days now - If it's later than that then sowwi

Here's my belly button btw! It didn't hurt getting it done but I've randomly felt sick and faint all day for a few mins

Btw it's not that lob-sided - the pic was taken a couple of hours after so it was a bit swollen.
It feels like someone is permanently pinching my belly button - and since I can't bend down properly without it hurting I've been bending down like a cowboy. Least sitting down is good for my posture since I can't slouch...
ANYWAYS! Enough about my belly button
Podcast!
Please email us! We said in the podcast that we'd love some emails! We don't care of what just send us some!

We had Cornholio157 on the cast this week - email us if you wanna be in it one week and we'll try and sort something out

Oh and I bought myself Ratchet and Clank as a treat for being a brave girl today

We recorded it in a field in Scunthorpe today when we (me, Braindead_hero and Shaz14) were free
It's early this week because me and Braindead_hero are off to Alton Towers tomorrow and I've got a photoshoot and work to do on sunday!Pics of us in the wilderness!

The lovely view of sunny Scunthorpe

Me and Shaun
In other news I'm getting my belly button pierced next saturday. Nothing 'bling' - just something tasteful. Probably just a plain silver bar or one with a gem stone in or something. The reason why I'm having it done?
I wanna join the police force and they won't allow facial piercings. I've always wanted my lip pierced (plain silver stud in the middle) but I can't - plus mum would break my neck if I had that done! So I've decided to settle for my belly button instead since I've been allowed to have that done since I was about 15.
Only problem is it makes me feel v.sick if someone even pokes my belly button so I'm gonna have to ask them to be gentle. And I've got a funny feeling I might faint
Ah well I've got Braindead_hero there to hold my hand

Woo!

I've been doodling these little characters for ages so I thought I might as well put them into a short comic strip. I might even submit it to the college magazine
What do you guys think?
(It's a massive image straight from the scanner so click 'View Image' if you're a cool Firefox user like myself)

EDIT: I found a hedgehog out front so I took him in for a few hours. I gave him cat biscuits and water
He's called Jeff and I've let him back out now but hopefully he'll be back

Squeal! He's so cute!

Hey we have a new podcast! And we actually have some news this week!

(Just click on the zSHARE streaming link to listen!)

We've started putting reviews on Wordpress and we're planning a few side things to put on the site - Braindead_hero is looking at whether free games can be good games and I'm looking at a Pokemon retrospective as Pokemon Platinum has now been released in Japan. So keep checking back to the site as we've got lots of new stuff to put up there.
Ah Braindead_hero's hobby. Well it was a one off but still...
He made loads of paper models of consoles and games - I have pics!

This is all the paper games lined up next to a bottle of Sprite for size comparison (and because we really like Sprite!)

All the games

The consoles (Sega Saturn and Dreamcast) with a paper game
Lol so yeh he's been keeping himself busy!
I've had a week at college, had work on Friday night, went to Braindead_hero's yesterday morning and we went to a party for a few hours that night. It was good and I liked the fact we went back to his before we got fed up. I'm back home now (it's Sunday evening now) and I'll need an early night as I've got another week of college and work to look forward to.
I've also seen a shocking thing about smoking:

Well I never!
Good thing I smoke then
See you guys later

Hey here's the new podcast. We're on Word Press now so I don't know about the RSS feed or iTunes - we're still sorting them out. We have tons more freedom though

Not really much else to say... I'm back at college and hating it. I can't be bothered with work, there's too many people on the bus and blocking the doorways (*cough* first years!) and me and Braindead_hero hardly have any frees together. The college also made me take 4 subjects this year instead of 3 so I've got less frees anyway
I was messing about with my Nikon the other day though. I put it on a 4 second exposure and waved the light on my phone about to create this:

I Photoshopped me out of the background but other than that it's unretouched

Hi guys! I've been able to relax by the pc for the first time in weeks! I flew back from Alcudia on Tues afternoon and have spent the last few days worrying, working and being at college. I also stopped over at Braindead_hero's Wed night. So I'm rather tired =_=
And I've got to go to a fancy dress party tomorrow (yes I am 17, my mate just likes fancy dress parties! In fact he'll be 18 tomorrow!). I have no idea what the wear. Any suggestions?

Here's me and Megan at the beach. I'm too self concious to go swimming nowadays so that bikini thingy isn't exactly up to date and grown up...

Here's a pic of the palm trees overlooking the lake

And this is a shot of the beach

I'll start commenting on your blogs from... NOW!

It's great to be back on GS!
