Why can't they just make a simple, fun, violent ninja game? Now before you ATTACK me with shouts of Ninja Gaiden, trust me, I've played it. I first got sucked into it's nonsense when I played the demo on my PS3. The demo level was the level when you infiltrate the Ninja fortress.
Before I continue, I must state that I LOVE Japanese culture. I'm not one of those anime junkies, but I love the whole Japanese feel, which is why Okami is my favorite game. Ever.
Anyways, so it was the level when you infiltrate the ninja fortress. I played it, and I was all,"Cool, Japanese culture in a game!" Then I made the mistake of buying the game. The last thing I expected from Ninja Gaiden was having to fight off demonic creatures alongside an Uma Thurman looking vixen in some post-modern city. I wanted a traditional Japanese game! UGH! But that's not the worse part. When I think ninja, I think a sneaky figure creeping through the shadows and striking unsuspecting enemies. Ninja Gaiden is more of the game where you just run around in plain sight and chop up everything that moves, in really fancy, cool looking moves. Now believe me, Ninja Gaiden is a GREAT game, and I do like it (although I still haven't beaten it -_-) but it is not what I was expecting.
So Ninja Gaiden left me heartbroken with its lack of ninja-ness. Now fast forward several months to me buying Assassin's Creed. Also a good (albeit repetitive) game. But once again, my expectations were let down. This game has more of an element of stealth than Ninja Gaiden, but still left a lot to be desired. You cannot crawl in the shadows and strike unsuspectingly. You can blend with the crowd, but that's not ninja like! For all 9 assasinations, I was looking for something more along the Splinter Cell tradition. Strike your target secretly, and make a clean getaway, without having to dodge an infinite amount of guards. In my opinion, attacking unseen is the best way to attack. Assassin's Creed also left me hungry for Ninja action.
Now there is a naruto game coming out for PS3. But that's not the ninja I'm looking for. Those are magical ninjas. I want stealth ninjas. Like the Shadow Hand (or whatever it is) from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles! ^_^
The closest I've come to my ninja nirvana is the multiplayer on Splinter Cell: Double Agent for the PS3. You get to play either as a spy or guard, but I prefer spy. The spies are like super acrobats. You get to run around, sneak in vents, use smoke bombs, sneak up and crack enemies necks, the works. It is AMAZING! However, it's probably the least played online game out there. There's only like 6 other people on at any given time. Especially with the new games like GTA4 that introduce new, albeit cliche, forms of multiplayer.
All this is why I'm excited for MGS4. Hopefully, it brings the Ninja back into STealth gameplay. I've only played the second one, and it sure did not feel like a ninja game.
That is my prayer to the gaming gods. A good ninja game. That sticks to the ninja formula of sneaking in shadows, using gadgets, and being stealthy and quick. So if any of you know of a GOOD ninja game, PLEASE let me know. And not a Splinter Cell game, I've played all those. And loved them all.

and type a blog about GTA 4. Heck, I think I will.
GTA 4 is great, but I do wish there were more rpg fatcors, like in San Andreas. For example, I wish you could upgrade yuor weapon handling skills (but nothing to major that would drastically change the gameplay) and your driving skills. Also, you should be able to change your appearance. Sure, Niko is great as some big-nosed foreigner, but I wish i could have made him look like I wanted him to look, like in Oblivion (except...well....better...) Also, some fable-esque things would be nice. Like if you eat too much, you'll get fat. Go to the gym, you'll get buff like Brucie (maybe you can get into the steroid trafficking/using business like him, also O_o) You should have a meter that tells you how criminal-y you are, how hungry you are, how attractive you are, etc.
Also, what'd be great would be the ability to design and pimp your own cars, with neon and spinners ad everything. Like my favorite car game, Midnight Club 3. That'd be cool.
Just a little customization would be nice int GTA. That's all.

Well the BEST characters are most definetly Toon link, Lucas, and Snake.
Not Sheik. Its like between melee and brawl, sheik had a generous dose of retard juice. Because she sucks now :'( she used to be my best character.

*Disclaimer* No. They are not making a Super Smash for PS3. This is just a speculation.
All you Playstation fans out there, wouldn't that be AMAZING? Just think what characters it would have. Now I'm not saying any game developer should do this, becasue it would be impossible to copy the magic SSB, and SSB is Nintendo's backbone these days. Taking that away would be like taking a chicken from an Ethiopian.
Well here's my idea of how it would go down. Feel free to comment on additional cool things.
Characters (Not strictly Sony):
- Jak
- Sly Cooper
- Ratchet
- Okami
- Croc
- Crash Bandicoot
- Jumping Flash
- Dante
- Altair
- Drake
- Klonoa
- Snake (if nintendo hadn't claimed him)
- Guy from GTA
- Yoshimitsu
- Sam Fisher
- Veiwtiful Joe
- Spike from Ape Escape (or Jimmy)
- Metal Slug Charcter
- Hydralisk

- Sora
- Nathan Hale (not to sure what he would do)
Bonus Characters
- Daxter
- Bentley
- Clank
- Issun (He might be hard to track on-screen...)
- A group of LocoRoco's
- Pinstripe
- Nina (my personal favorite Tekken character)
- Averge Joe (or maybe Silvia?)
- Kei and Yumi (from Ape Escape 3)
- Monkey
- Nightcrawler
- Queen of Blades
- Chimera
- Riku
Locations
- Jerusalem
- Kamiki Village
- Celestial Plane (Background shows tale of Ark crashing to Earth and unleashing evil)
- Dr. Neo Cortex's lair
- Crash's home island (I forgot name)
- LocoRoco planet (changes background theme over time, tilts back and forth)
- Nottingham
- Zerg Base
- Destiny Island
- Heartless Lair
- The amusement park from the first Ape Escape (interactive)
- Waterfall location from Tekken
- Movie Land (changes background theme over time)
- Chimera Main Base
- Paris (in Sly Cooper Fashion)
- Jak's Homeland (Overtime, switches to the future city from the 2nd Jak)
- Ratchet and Clank planet (I can't think of any specific ones)
That's the general gyst of it. I would make an item list and a list of attacks, but I don't have much time. Each character would attack in their fashion. like Sam Fisher fading into the background and throwing grenades, Okami having special button commands that makes her paint specific powers, Nathan Hale....shooting things and being able to heal, Sora fighting with a Keyblade, Joe being able to reverse a specific opponents attack on him, Kei and Yumi fighting in Ice climber fashion, Spike using his net and other gadget, the guy from GTA being able to steal other people's powers (instead of cars
) etc.Now I know this list is very limited compared ALL the pther PS characters out there, but I don't know all of them, and didn't have time to think of that many. So if you think of any more cool ones, or decide to type up an extensive Item and Attack list, by all means, let me know! Share your thoughts with the world!
*sigh* that would be SUCH a great game...

Finally, the PS3 is worth having!
Why, you may ask? WELL first of all, the price has been lowered, which is good news. But the PS3's redeeming factor is its first worthwhile exclusive!
What am I talking about? Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, of course! Now I know I gave this game a seven, but i have done some serious reconsidering and changed my mind. This game gets at least a nine. Think Tomb Raider meets Crash Bandicoot meets Gears of War. Three classic games games, all combined into one package which outdoes all of them. However, it beats me how this game got slapped with a Teen raitng, and not Mature. I was pretty sure use of the "s-word" earned a game an M. Or the gallons of blood spilt by the pirates. It's actually a LOT more violent then Halo or Gears of War. Naughty Dog had to pull some serious strings with ESRB (sp?) to get a T. But I digress. The point is, I was very disappointed in having a PS3 with only 1 game to brag about. Resistance (which gets old really fast, especially with the under-aged player filled multiplayer mode). Now the campaign was great to say the least, but compared to the thousands of exclusives for 360 or Wii, Resistance was nothing. But now, finally, another exclusive has emerged thats actually worth playing and bragging about! Now most of you PS3 haters are probably thinking "OOooohh one game BIG DEAL" But I beleive this is just the start of a great line of PS3 exclusives which will cause PS3 to rise to the top of the console race! Even if it takes a couple years.

Before all you overanxious prepubescent fanboys get on my case for saying "ps3" and "stink" in the same sentence without the word "doesn't" inbetween, let me explain.
I am a diehard ps3 fan. I have a ps3 (only) and i play it a lot. I track ps3 games and other nerdy stuff like that. So i'm not some Xbox 360 or Nintendo fan who spends his spare time dissing othr systems. I don't even have an xbox 360 or Wii. I just think the ps3 is below par.
by A LOT.
First of all, the ps3 has like, 2 good games. Sure its only been out for little below a year, but come on. Resistance and Ninja Gaiden are the only good games (now) and one is even from the Xbox! So in 2ish years, the 360 has Gears, Halo 3, BioShock, and a whole butt load of good games coming out, while the ps3 has Unreal 3 and Assasin's Creed. Thats it. Soooooo generally the 360 has better games. Now i'm not in to that whole graphics processing engine stuff, but from what i've seen, xbox is leading the graphics race. Not to mention that the 360's online capabilities basically piss all over the ps3's. I don't need to explain, just play 360 vs ps3 and chances are you will agree. Messaging and invites from in-game, voice messages, rentals, etc. etc. The psa3 either lacks those or has really crappy versons of those. An the in-game lobbies (from what i've seen) suck. The only thing the ps3 has a one-up over the 360 is the wireless controllers, and how you can charge while playing, and don't need a retarded extra battery pcak. Also the controllers are a whole lot better, despite the lack of rumble, but that'll be fixed next year. However, 360 still kicks ps3. And lets face it. Resistance will NEVER surpass Halo. I love resistance, but for some reason, Halo is SooOOOOoooOOO much better. The online modes (VIP, anyone?) are just amazing. And no "one hit kills" mode! Well from what i've seen. I only play it at my friends house like once a week.
Well, the Wii isn't "better" than the ps3. The ps3 has SO much more potential. BUT the ps3 isn't utilizing that potential! So the wii surpasses it not only by its "Wiimote" style of unique gameplay, but also the games. Now, I'm probably the most annoyed person on this earth by all these Mario remakes. The Wii does lack diversity. (Mario strikers?!?!?) However, some of the games, such as Metroid, are simply amazing. The ps3 needs to pick up its act to catch up. Despte the ps3's graphics surpassing the Wii, the Wii is still (temporarily, hopefully) better than the ps3.
All in all, the ps3 is going to have to get its act together with some better games and online accesibility, or its going to be left to fade into obscurity, quite like the Dreamcast.
