Humanity needs a major tune-up **EDITED**
Hi. I am Sean Taylor. I am a 28 year old American. I have served 4 years in the U.S. Army, and have been fortunate enough to see some major parts of this great planet we call Earth. I know that there are many people that have not had the same privelage as myself, but I can tell you that its beautiful.
One thing that is not beautiful about this planet are the humans that inhabit it. We have become a horrible race, and it looks like this is only the beginning. I know for a fact that I am not the only person that feels this way, but I am one of few that will stand up and tell the human race that we are F-ed up. We must change the way that we think, act, and feel or else we will not be around long enough to truely enjoy everything that this world has to offer.
I have been thinking about this for a couple of years now. I have had brain storms such as "If I could change the world, if I had this power, what would I change?". I was actually given this question by a very intelligent English instructor by the name of Dr. Teschner. He inspired me to change my way of thinking, and I hope that at least one of you will be inspired as well.
Out of all 30 students in the class, there were 3 that chose to change something other than themselves. Yes three. thats 30% (thanks guthgulf_de, forgot the 0)of the class that felt unselfish enough to answer a ficticious question. This really opened up my eyes as to what our society is becomming. Through my years of pondering, I have come up with some simple suggestions that I feel we all need to take in mind. Just think about these little changes that I feel could change the entire planets way of thinking and acting. I just hope that its not too late.
Step One - Finger Pointing - Have parents and adults forgot what it was like when they were kids? I know for a fact that when we did something wrong, we were blamed for it, not the games we played, not the TV we watched, and definately not some wierd disease that some doctor came up with so that he could make more money. When I was 8, I threw a rock, and it happened to hit my neighbors window, breaking it. I was punished for being stupid, and I paid for a new window by mowing their lawn for the entire summer. It was not because I was ADD, it was not because I did it in a video game, and it was not because I saw it on TV. It was because I was STUPID ENOUGH TO THROW A ROCK AT A FREAKING WINDOW! PARENTS, THEY ARE YOUR CHILDREN, SO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEM, AND QUIT GIVING THEM THIS STUPID "ITS NOT YOUR FAULT, ITS THE SYSTEMS" CRAP. LET THEM KNOW WHAT HAPPENS IF THEY DO WRONG, OR ELSE THEY WILL END UP BEING VERY MESSED UP AS AN ADULT. ALSO, THIS WHOLE "NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS, YOU ARE A WINNER" MENTALITY IS SCREWING UP SOCIETY FASTER THAT YOU MAY KNOW! IF EVERYONE THINKS THAT THEY ARE WINNERS NO MATTER THE OUTCOME, THEN WHY THE HELL WOULD ANYONE TRY HARD AT ANYTHING? LET YOUR KIDS KNOW THAT THERE ARE WINNERS AND LOSERS, AND THAT YOU CANNOT ALWAYS BE A WINNER, BUT IF YOU WORK HARD 100% OF THE TIME, THEN YOU WILL WIN MORE THAN LOSE!
Jeez, that was a lot of yelling, but I am so sick of the goddamn finger pointing. Take some damn responsibility for your actions!
Step Two - Too Many Laws - I know that you may read this and think "what the hell is this wacko talking about?!?" but hear me out. The US has more people in prison than any other country in the world. This is a known fact. The cause? There are too many laws. We have become a society that feels if we do not like something, we should simply make it illegal. While this is a short term fix, we are slowly taking away our freedom. The same freedom that I fought for in two different wars. The same freedom that I watched my friends die for. I for one will not tollerate it. Instead of making so many laws, why don't we all do the less lazy thing, and work out compromises. People, we gotta change, or else we are going to kill ourselves.
I will post more later, but I have lots of work to do. I will post part two, if enough people are actually going to read it.
**EDIT**
I saw this story last night, so here is MORE proof that we are destroying our children.
Its called the GameDR.

You can read the full story HERE.
BUT, if you do not want to, I will summarize it for you. So the parent places this padlock on the powercord and sets the password to lock it. Then the parent will set the timer, and when it reaches 0, the device will activate and shut off the system.
GREAT, ANOTHER TOOL TO HELP PARENTS BE EVEN MORE NEGLECTIVE TO THEIR CHILDREN! Why can't parents just, I don't know, BE PARENTS! Make your kid get off the damn game, do buy into this garbage that parents your children for you!

TO ALL MY FRlENDS ON GAMESPOT
Hey guys!
First off I want to say that Michelle is home now! Yay!
Second, I am not too sick anymore! Yay!
But enough about me. This blog is strictly for you guys. I have been around the world, met lots of people, and made lots of friends, but YOU GUYS here really take the cake.
There are not a lot of good people left in the world, but I know that the majority of the good ones reside right here on this website. To anyone else, this is just another game site, but we know that its much more. We are a tight knit community that sticks together and helps eachother out, through thick and thin, no matter the issue.
There is not another blog site that could hold a candle to our little community here, and it takes a special person to really understand what this is all about.
What I am trying to say is "You guys are awesome, and thanks for being here for me when I needed it the most!"
Seriously, you guys are awesome. Thanks for everything.
Well, I have to go now, but I will post again real soon.
