Howdy everyone,
How are all of you? I am doing fine, I know I haven't posted a blog in ages, so I thought I would do one to let all of you know I am still alive and kicking about. Not a great deal going on with me, mostly working and going fishing in my spare time at a small lake a friend's father bought a few months ago.

Now on to what most of you really want to know, yes the parrots are doing well too.

I have a Deviant Art account know and have posted most of my pencil drawings there, here is the link if anyone is interested.
http://thirteenparrots.deviantart.com/
Beyond that I have finished reading about 3 different series of books I have been following and done a little of original writing. Nothing I am ready to share yet but I am sure I will at some point.
Okay, that is all I have for now, take care and may you all have a grand day wherever you are.

The parrots pass out oreos and hugs to all who want some.

Howdy everyone,
The main reason I left the site seems to have been resolved in one fashion or another. No, I am not going to explain anything beyond that statement and my previous blog. So, I am coming back to this site to stay in touch with the friends I have made here. Hopefully, I'll do a little more posting in the blogs of those friends. I probably won't do more than a blog a week or every other week though. For all of you who posted in my previous blog, PMed me, or leave a message in this blog, or saw me leave and missed the parrots even if you didn't post anything, thanks for reading my blogs and following the parrots. Hopefully, all of our old friendships can pick up where they left off. Take care everyone and see you all around.

Gary/Thirteenparrots/13P
The parrots give everyone a big welcome back group hug and share their oreos with them.

Howdy out there,
I am not going to get into reasons, but other than checking PMs I have basicly already left this site and moved on to other things. This will be the last blog I do. I just wanted to say "bye" and "thanks" to everyone I have had the pleasure of meeting here and becoming friends with in the time I have been around. If anyone would like to have my email address to stay in contact with me please PM and I'll give it you. Hope all of you out there have enjoyed the Parrots being around as much as I have enjoyed using them. Take care everyone and truly enjoy your lives.

Gary/thirteenparrots
The parrots take a final bow and give everyone here at tv.com one final giantic group hug.

Hi there,
Not much going on with me at the moment, this has been pretty much a middle of the road week with nothing really bad happening nor anything particularly great happening. I did have a friend who turned the Big 3-0 this week but they didn't really want any celebration. At work we posted some really good times this week and I believe if today went well at all it will be the best week we had on delievery times since the new system into place last August. I was off today so won't know until I get to work tomorrow. Like I said, not much really going on, I am posting a link that I stole from spacedkane's blog, it was a fun little quiz not sure how well what I got fits me but the heck, it did help pass the time a bit.

Anyway, you all take care and don't forget your mothers this weekend.

Gary/thirteenparrots

...around is here known as the Kentucky Derby.
Living in Lousiville can't escape this event each year. Especially working at the hospital nearest the track. If anyone at the track gets hurt or too drunk you can be pretty sure they will end up at our hospital. To show you how big the event is here, the lowest number of patients we have in the hospital each year is the first Saturday in May, not Christmas, not Thanksgiving, or any other special day you can think of but the day of the Kentucky Derby. I heard the word "Boring" today at work this morning and that isn't a word I normally hear around there.
Congrats to Big Brown for winning the Derby this year that horse looked very strong winning the race from the most outside post position in the field. My heart goes out to Eight Belles and her owners as the filly had to be put to sleep after breaking both front legs at the end of the race where she finished only second to Big Brown.
That's all I have for now, wish you all a good evening.
Gary/thirteenparrots
The parrots bow their heads in respect to the fallen member of the animal kingdom and may Eight Belles rest in peace under the Kentucky Bluegrass.

Hiya all,
A Friend and I the other day was talking about some of the weirdest stuff to ever happen to us after she posted a blog about missing an hour of her life earlier this week, yes that would be you SBS.

Anyhow, for me it would be this one time while I was stationed in Japan. I had sent the night at a couple's base apartment who I was good friends with and slept in a the spare room. The next morning I was going to catch a ride with the husband to get across the air strip on base or otherwise I would have to try to catch a bus. I woke up when I heard the door to the apartment close and a checked around to see no one was left in the apartment other than myself. I quickly dressed and ran out of the apartment hoping to maybe catch him before he pulled out the parking lot. As I left the apartment I heard him talking to one of the neighbors as the door to the elevator they were on closed. Thinking "yes, I can run down the steps and beat him to the car", took off down the steps. I got down the steps just in time to see his car drive off down the street. At the same time I saw the bus pull up to the stop and I nearly fell on my face trying to get to it before it pull out. I said a few choice words in the process but I made the bus. After the bus crossed the air strip I got off at a stop in front of where the husband work and stopped by to see why he had taken off without me that morning.
While talking to him several amazing things happened first, by the time I got to his office was only 15 minutes after I saw him leave the apartment, but he had at least 3 others who verified that he had already been at work for over an hour. Next, he said saw me run out of the apartment before he left and he tried to catch me. And he described prefectly how I had left the apartment seeing me run down the steps and after he took the elevator down watched me stumble and repeated exactly the words I had said I as got to the bus. It turn he was amazed when I was able to describe exactly how he left the apartment, was completely correct in the part of the conversation I heard him have with the neighbor in the elevator and how even his car had jerked when first pulling out on the street.
To this day that is still the strangest thing I have ever experience.
Gary/Thirteenparrots
The parrots are not sure what to think about that?

Hi out there,
As my title states, I know spring has finally arrived. Nearly every year I get nailed with chest and sinius congestion when the weather finally decides to quit going back and forth between cold and warm. It has gotten to me this year, so much so I actually left work early today. Oh well, nothing I can do but to endure it as it runs it's usual course, it'll take about a week and then I will be good to go until next year. Take care, everyone.

The parrots take care of their owner for this one time.

1. I collect eagles not parrots, though I have started to get a few parrot items.
2. Don't play laser tag in the woods while wearing light color clothing, for several reasons.
3. RBA is an awesome individual.
4. Orange is my favorite color.
5. The only person to have really ever to be able to push my buttons easily has been my brother, but I still love him anyway.
6. When I eat an apple I eat the whole apple; core, seeds, stem, and all.
7. The fastest I ever drove a car was 140mph, in all things a 68 Ford country sadan station wagon.
8. I am dog person, yet a few years ago when Athena, a cat that I haven't really wanted at first, died I cried as much as I had ever done at any point in my life before or since. I still miss that cat.
9. In no order pets I really miss, Athena, Brutis, Tony, Gypsie, and I know Aubie when he finally passes on. Other than Athena all of them are dogs.
10.
This is the base I was stationed at when I was in the Air Force.
11. I was on a championship college chess team, yet I won only one match during the whole season. My college record was 1 win, 3 draws, and 20+ losses. Ironicly, my one win and two of my draws came against the top rank team we defeated for the championship that we won.
12. In addition to 'The Parrots Lounge' here on tv.com the parrots at one time had a comedy club, and a single's bar on another site. The other site no longer exisit but the parrots keep going.

13. If you haven't noticed the number 13 means a lot to me.

The parrots will always keep going, they'll even outlast their owner at some point for sure.

Howdy all,
I got my yearly work e-val today, and while I don't ever really sweat these performance evaluations, they rarely match what I think I should get. Well, today I got a really nice suprise, I got both the best marks and raise I have ever gotten just based on my performance. So, I am a little stunned but quite a happy person at the moment.

Anyhow, hope everyone out there is having a good day as well.

Take care,
Gary/thirteenparrots
The parrots did finally remember to untie their owner. Though, only after one of them trip over him while getting 'The Parrots Lounge' ready for Sir Musket and Miss Arie's wedding day.

The parrots: It has be quite a while since we got to handle a blog and as such have decided to bound and gag our owner for a bit and for each of us to have our say!!

Sir Musket of Alaska: I'm first? Hm, oh well,... here goes. Miss Arie I have been trying to build up my nerve for a while now. Now I am not a coward and nothing has ever really scared me before, but I am afraid of ... nevermind, I'll just do it. (Gets on bended talon, bows head, and raises a small box with his wings to Miss Arie.) Miss Arie, will you do me the honor of being the only one to share my cage with me the rest of our lives?

Miss Arie: (With a tear of joy rolling down her beak.) Of course! And about time you asked!

Dia Parrot: Well not how in all the spirit realm I am suppose to follow that!? Oh well, congrats you two and I guess I better get the JoDees ready to put on the best parrot wedding ever!

Miss Pecky: Why does Miss Arie always get the good news? I better not catch the flowers again, like I did at Olivia and Aussie's wedding.

Parrot#5 with stuffed Aunt Polly: Aunt Polly, did you hear that? There is going to be a wedding. Aunt Polly? You alright? Oh, my goodness Aunt Polly fainted dead away, quick someone get her some water?

Randy: (Walks backwards into the room with a paint bucket on his head.) I salute those who are entering the arena to do battle to the death. (Drops the paint bucket, and flys out of the room trailing orange paint everywhere.)

Mystical: #5, Aunt Polly didn't faint, she was already dead. I see I need to up the medicine for both #5 and Randy. I also, need to really get going to have 'The Parrot Lounge' ready in time for a grand wedding. I am so excited for you both.

Oreia: Oh, I wonder what would be the best gift to get Sir Musket and Miss Arie, considering Sir Musket has everything a parrot could want to begin with? Oh, I know!! A new DDR game with a life time supply of oreos what parrot wouldn't want that? (All the parrots nearly drool as they hear the word oreo.)

Petey, the ghost parakeet and Cosmo the cat: (The two just nod their heads in approval as they silencently watch the scene before them.)

Chef Smoking Feathers: Great I get to truly have a chance to show off my cooking skills and make the type of grand feast I have always liked doing. I must get started on the list of food and drink I'll need for this one. Nothing but the best for one of our own and all of our friends here.

Aussie and Olivia: (Snuggling a bit with each other as they remember their own wedding.) A:The kids are watching honey. O:Let them watch suger plum, let them watch. Kids: Gross! Mommy and Daddy are at it again!

Sparky: (Slightly twiching and striking a match.) Looks like I won't be the one setting the town on fire soon!!

The Parrots: We all hope to see everyone there at 'The Parrots Lounge' on the glorious day when Sir Musket of Alaska and Miss Arie snuggle beaks. We'll let you all know when. See everybody soon.

Thirteenparrots remains bound and gagged, while in their excitement about the wedding, the parrots forgot to release their owner after finishing their blog.

Hi everyone,
Thanks to everyone who sent me well wishes after my last blog about the accident I was in that totalled my Explorer. Well, three weeks to the day later, I have gotten everything settled with the Explorer and I am now the owner of a new 2008 Kia Spectra 5. While this wasn't the way I wanted to get a new car, I have to say I am happy with the fact this is the first time I have actually owned a new car. It is black and loaded with some pretty nice features. That's all I really know at the moment and since it has been a while I was wanting to say "hi" to everyone out there. Hope all of you are doing well.
Take care,
Gary/thirteenparrots
The parrots drew straws to see which one gets the covented "Shotgun" seat up front and the winner was: Miss Arie.

Hi everyone,
I had a bit more excitement than I cared for this past Tuesday. I ran over some black ice on the road as I entered a "S" curve at the top of a hill heading down. I was on my way to work a little before 5 am, thankfully no one else was around and I was the only person involved it the accident. I managed to maintain enough control to only run over the support lines for a telephone pole. I ripped up those cables, and snapped the top of the pole off, but didn't hit any of the trees, parked cars, houses, or the phone pole. I came to a stop with the front of my SUV in the ditch facing the road. Physically, I am okay, I didn't even get a stratch. My SUV was totally, however, I can most certainly live with that as no one was hurt at all and that was really the only important thing. God was without doubt sitting on my shoulder and guiding my hands on the wheel to miss everything that I did miss. Another foot to the left I would have taken out a tree, a foot to the right and I would have hit the phone pole head on. There were several people who helped me out pretty good that morning too. A person who lived nearby call the police for me and allowed me to use his cell phone to call work and my boss, so as to be able to get someone into the hospital to open the dietary department to get patients fed. The tow truck driver, went out of his way and bought me breakfast, the police officer was very nice in his dealings with me, and there were others who were very kind to me that day. The next day when I returned to work, it even amazed me just how many people in my department had been really concerned for me. Other than having the accident in the first place I was very much blessed. Hope all of you are having a good day and have a good weekend coming up. Take care, everyone.

Howdy,
Not much going on at the moment. The damaged tree limbs have been cut and removed now. The loan for the house has finally gotten done and is over with. Work has and is still being it's usual up and down pain in the tush self. Looking forward to just relaxing a bit here soon. Anyhow, happy leap day and a little humor to go with it. Hope you all enjoy and take it easy.

The parrots have broken out the bug juice and toasting a few cheers, anyone who would like some is welcome to join in.
PS: Btw, bug juice is just Kool-Aid but the parrot think "bug juice" sounds cooler.

Hiya,
Well, I got a surprise yesterday when I got home from work. A pretty good size limb had came down on the tree in my front yard. It took out a small dogwood tree by the corner of my house. Fortunately that was all it got. Just missed my house by less than a foot and by a few inches missed the front corner of my neighbor's house as well. No one was hurt and no damage done to anything other than the two trees. Talking to my neighbor, he told me he heard a loud pop about 5:40 am, which was less than an hour after I had left for work. Again, thankfully no one was hurt or any real damage done. Ironicly, I closed on the loan yesterday for the house, which has allowed me to be a home owner, what a way to start.

Anyhow, hope everyone else out there is doing well and will catch you all later.
Gary/Thirteenparrots

Hi out there,
I just wanted to take a moment and reflect how my life has changed in the last year. It has changed a lot for the better and I have had great support from family and friends. Thanks to all those people who have been there for me whether I have known it or not. It is most certainly appriecated. Have a good day everyone.

Hi everyone,
I am still around and kicking, in fact, things have been pretty good lately. I just finished two weeks of jury duty and it was actually fun, better than going to my actual job. I was a member of two duty juries and it was interesting to see how the process works from that point of view. I have also been busy with some other things, such as I am now a home owner for the first time in my life. In the process, by the end of this week it should be all settled with the bank and I'll be debt free other than the loan on the house. So, yeah me!!!

Just a few of the things that I have been doing and keeping me from spending much time here anymore. The new year is off to a good start overall for me, now if I can find a new job and make the one I have better in some fashion then I'll really be on a roll.

Unfortunately, there is a little bit of sad news to report as well, one of my best friends had a grand parent pass away recently. The parrots and I just want to show support for them and thier family in this time of dealing with the loss of a love one.
That's all I have for now, I'll hopefully will catch you all again soon. Take care and have a good day.

The parrots offer up some good down home cooked food, drinks and big group hugs to anyone who want some.

Hiya,
Not much going on currently other than the same stuff as usual so won't bore any of you all with it. Just wanted to post something since it has been a while. Here is a good joke I found online and being from Kentucky has a little extra for me.

Take care,
Gary/thirteenparrots
The parrots are currently getting over the bird flu at the moment. All of them are doing alright though and we be back to themselves in no time.

KENTUCKY BLONDE
Two bored casino dealers are waiting at the craps table. A very attractive blonde woman from Kentucky arrived and bet $20,000 on a single roll of the dice. She said, "I hope y'all don't mind, but I feel much luckier when I'm completely nude."
With that, she stripped from the neck down, rolled the dice and yelled, "Come on, baby, Mama needs new clothes!"
As the dice came to a stop she jumped up and down and squealed...
"YES! YES! I WON, I WON!"
She hugged each of the dealers and then picked up her winnings and her clothes and quickly departed... The dealers stared at each other dumfounded.
Finally, one of them asked, "What did she roll?"
The other answered, "I don't know - I thought you were watching."
Moral - Not all Kentuckians are stupid and not all blondes are dumb, but all men are men.

Howdy all,
It seems everything is moving in slow-mo for me, except for the thingsI wouldliketo move slow. Oh well, I am still standing though. This week has been better than last week and even the bad things haven't been that bad thanks to cooler heads prevailing. I keep hoping at some point to start being more active here however, life moves at it's own pace whether any of us like it or not. Until then, thanks to those of you that still read and/orpost inmy occassial blog. Take care and may all of you have a grand time.

...to work and I got my tail end kick but good. It was just one of those weeks that hardly anything went right and not just for me but my entire department. I got a jury duty summons and nearly jumped for joy since that means the better part of two weeks away from work starting the end of this month. Well, I have survived and will continue to do such for now. Hope all is well with everyone out there, take care and catch you all later.
